Description
「Bステージ化可能接着剤」とは、一般的に、接着剤が元来の塗布部位を超えて流れる現象であるスランピングを低減するために、接着剤が分配時に十分濃厚(又は粘稠)であることを意味する。
「延性」金属又は金属合金とは、引き伸ばす又は金槌で叩いて薄くすることができるものである。
「固定研磨物品」とは、一般的に、金属研磨粒子が基材に付着していることを意味する。
「金属含有マトリクス」とは、一般的に、超砥粒が付着している、埋め込まれている、若しくはその両方である金属又は金属合金を意味する。
「ガラス化接着剤」とは、一般的に、接着剤が光源、好ましくは可視光源を用いることにより、ガラス質に変換されていることを意味する。
これは、開環により重合可能である。そのような材料は、概してエポキシドと呼ばれるものであり、モノマー型エポキシ化合物とポリマー型エポキシドとがあり、脂肪族、脂環式、芳香族、又は複素環式であり得る。これらの物質は一般に、平均で、1分子あたり少なくとも1つの重合性エポキシ基を有し、好ましくは1分子あたり少なくとも約1.5、より好ましくは少なくとも約2つの重合性エポキシ基を有する。ポリマー型エポキシドとしては、末端エポキシ基を有する直鎖状のポリマー(例えば、ポリオキシアルキレングリコールのジグリシジルエーテル)、骨格にオキシラン単位を有するポリマー(例えば、ポリブタジエンポリエポキシド)、及びペンダントエポキシ基を有するポリマー(例えば、グリシジルメタクリレートポリマー又はコポリマー)などが挙げられる。エポキシドは、純粋な化合物であってもよく又は1分子当たり1個、2個又はそれ以上のエポキシ基を含有する化合物の混合物であってもよい。1分子あたりのエポキシ基の「平均」数は、エポキシ樹脂中のエポキシ基の総数を、存在するエポキシ含有分子の総数で除することにより求められる。
式中、R’はアルキル又はアリールであり、nは1から6の整数である。例は、エピクロロヒドリン(例えば、2,2−ビス−(2,3−エポキシプロポキシフェノール)プロパンのジグリシジルエーテル)などの過剰のクロロヒドリンを多価フェノールと反応させることにより得られる多価フェノールのグリシジルエーテルである。この種のエポキシドの更なる例が、米国特許第3,018,262号、並びにLee及びNevilleによるHandbook of Epoxy Resins,McGraw−Hill Book Co.,New York(1967)に記載されている。

式中、XはCO又はCR1R2であり、ここでR1及びR2は同一であることも又は異なることもでき、且つ水素、アルキル、アルカリール又はアラルキルであることができ、bは0であり、A及びBは同一であることも又は異なることもでき、且つ置換(1つ以上の非干渉置換基を有する)若しくは非置換アリール、アルキル、アルカリール、若しくはアラルキル基であることができるか、又はA及びBは、置換若しくは非置換脂環式環、芳香環、芳香族複素環若しくは縮合芳香環であり得る環状構造を共に形成し得る。
研磨粒子の形成
1リットルの容器に、平均直径20〜25マイクロメートルの共晶スズ−ビスマス灰色粉末(Indium Corp.of America,Utica,New York製)25グラム、0.5mmのジルコニア粉砕媒体(東ソー株式会社、日本、東京製)100グラム、及び多結晶ダイヤモンド(UK Abrasives,Northbrook,Illinois製)0.25グラムを充填した。この混合物を100毎分回転数で24時間粉砕して、ダイヤモンドをスズ−ビスマス粉末中及び上に沈着させた。灰色のスズ−ビスマス合金は、圧延後ほぼ黒色の多結晶ダイヤモンドに変化し、多結晶ダイヤモンドがスズ−ビスマス合金の外周のほぼ全体に付着していることが証明された。
同じ大きさのアルミニウム基材に付着している63.5×63.5cm(25×25インチ)のポリエステルテレフタレート(PET)シートを、PETがエポキシ/MEK溶液でわずかに曇るように、1部のエポキシ樹脂と50部のメチルエチルケトン(MEK)との溶液に浸漬した紙タオルで拭いた。
Claims (2)
- (i)外周を有する実質的に球状のスズ又はスズ合金からなる金属含有マトリクスと、(ii)前記金属含有マトリクスの前記外周に部分的に埋め込まれている8マイクロメートル未満の平均直径を有する超砥粒材料とを含み、200マイクロメートル未満の平均直径を有する研磨粒子。
- 対向する第1の表面及び第2の表面を有する裏材と、
前記裏材の第1の表面及び第2の表面のうちの少なくとも1つの上に配置される接着剤と、
前記接着剤上に配置される複数の研磨粒子であって、各研磨粒子が、(i)外周を有する実質的に球状の金属含有マトリクスと、(ii)金属含有マトリクスの外周に部分的に埋め込まれている8マイクロメートル未満の平均直径を有する超砥粒材料とを含み、200マイクロメートル未満の平均直径を有する研磨粒子と、を含む固定研磨物品。
