Description
この蒸発器8は、本実施形態では所謂アイドルストップ車両に搭載される車両用空調装置を構成する冷凍サイクル装置2の構成要素として働くものであり、蓄冷機能を有するものである。
冷凍サイクル装置2が作動されると、圧縮機4が作動されて装置内を冷媒が循環し始め、蒸発器8の冷媒管12の中を通る低温の冷媒が、通風路13を通る比較的高温の周囲空気から及び蓄冷材容器14内の蓄冷材から熱を奪うことによりそれらの温度を低下させる。このとき、冷凍サイクル装置2は、発生した凝縮水の凍結を避けるために冷媒管12表面及びフィン15の温度が0℃以下にならないようにサーミスタ18によって検出されたフィン15の温度に基づいて、圧縮機4をON/OFF制御する。ただし、本実施形態では、冷媒管12表面及びフィン15の温度が0℃以下になる領域が生じる。これについて以下に詳しく説明する。
前述の実施形態では、サーミスタ18は、空気との熱交換表面の温度としてフィン15の温度を検出したが、サーミスタ18が、空気との熱交換表面の温度として冷媒管12の表面温度を検出する実施形態も可能である。実際には、冷媒管12の表面温度はフィン15の表面温度より僅かに低い温度を示すが、それらの温度差は無視できるレベルか、あるいはON/OFF制御の設定温度の微調整で対応可能なレベルである。サーミスタ18を冷媒管に固定する場合、サーミスタは、図4と同様の部分平面断面図である図7に示すように、冷媒管12の主側面に図示しない固定具によって取付けられる。また、サーミスタ及び固定具(図示せず)に干渉する部分のフィン15は切除される。

- 冷媒通路を有し、互いに平行に上下方向に延びて配置された複数の冷媒管(12)と、
前記複数の冷媒管(12)の間に設けられた複数の通風路(13)と、
蓄冷材を収容する少なくとも一つの蓄冷材容器(14)であって、前記複数の通風路(13)の一部の通風路に配置された少なくとも一つの蓄冷材容器(14)と、
空気との熱交換表面の温度を検出する温度検出手段(18)と、を具備し、
発生する凝縮水の凍結が許容される凍結許容領域(19a)と、前記凍結許容領域(19a)の上側に設けられた、発生する凝縮水の凍結が許容されない凍結非許容領域(19b)とを含む蒸発器であって、
前記蓄冷材容器(14)は、前記冷媒管(12)の間隔に略等しい蓄冷材容器の最大厚部(14a)において前記冷媒管(12)に固定される一方で、前記最大厚部以外の部分(14b、14c)と前記冷媒管(12)との間に空気の流通する空間を形成し、
さらに、前記蓄冷材容器(14)は、前記冷媒管(12)との間に形成される空間からの凝縮水の排出を促進するために前記空間の水平方向の幅を比較的大きく形成する小厚領域(14f)と、前記小厚領域(14f)の上側に位置する大厚領域(14g)とを有しており、
前記蓄冷材容器(14)の前記小厚領域(14f)が前記凍結許容領域(19a)に含まれ、前記蓄冷材容器(14)の前記大厚領域(14g)が前記凍結非許容領域(19b)に含まれること、及び
前記温度検出手段(18)が、前記凍結許容領域(19a)に配置されることを特徴とする蒸発器。 - 前記複数の通風路の他の一部の通風路に配置された熱交換用のフィン(15)を更に具備する蒸発器であって、
