Description
この排気浄化装置では、機関運転中において、還元剤供給機構から排気通路に向けて尿素水が噴射される。噴射された尿素水は、排気の熱によって加水分解されてアンモニアとなる。そしてこのアンモニアがNOxの還元剤としてNOx浄化触媒に供給される。なお、周知のように上記DPF触媒に捕集された粒子状物質は、機関の燃料がDPF触媒に添加されることで燃焼処理される。
以下、この発明にかかる内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第1実施形態について、図1〜図5を参照して説明する。
エンジン1には複数の気筒#1〜#4が設けられている。シリンダヘッド2には複数の燃料噴射弁4a〜4dが取り付けられている。これら燃料噴射弁4a〜4dは各気筒#1〜#4の燃焼室に燃料を噴射する。また、シリンダヘッド2には新気を気筒内に導入するための吸気ポートと、燃焼ガスを気筒外へ排出するための排気ポート6a〜6dとが各気筒#1〜#4に対応して設けられている。
排気通路26の途中には、排気圧を利用して気筒に導入される吸入空気を過給するターボチャージャ11が設けられている。同ターボチャージャ11の吸気側コンプレッサと吸気絞り弁16との間の吸気通路3にはインタークーラ18が設けられている。このインタークーラ18によって、ターボチャージャ11の過給により温度上昇した吸入空気の冷却が図られる。
制御装置80は、そうした排気浄化制御の一つとして、上記尿素添加弁230による尿素水の添加制御を行う。この添加制御では、エンジン1から排出されるNOxを還元処理するために必要な尿素添加量QEが機関運転状態等に基づいて算出され、その算出された尿素添加量QEが尿素添加弁230から噴射されるように、同尿素添加弁230の開弁状態が制御される。
そこで、本実施形態では、図2に示す尿素添加量QEの算出処理と図3に示す補正係数の設定処理とを制御装置80にて実行することにより、SCR触媒41の劣化度合に応じた適切な量の尿素水を供給し、これによりSCR触媒41の劣化によるNOx浄化率の低下を抑えるようにしている。
次に、ステップS20で設定された補正係数Kが単位添加量TTに乗算されることにより、SCR触媒41の劣化度合を考慮した補正後単位添加量TTHが算出される(S30)。
本処理が開始されるとまず、燃料添加が行われているか否か、つまりDPF触媒32の再生処理が行われているか否かが判定される(S100)。そして、燃料添加が行われていないときには(S100:NO)、前回の補正係数Kが維持されて(S140)、本処理は終了される。
排気系に設けられるSCR触媒41の劣化は、車両の総走行距離が伸びるほど進行する傾向がある。そこで、第1補正係数K1は、車両の総走行距離である走行距離DISが長くなるほど、つまりSCR触媒41の劣化度合が高いときほど大きい値となるように可変設定される。これによりSCR触媒41の劣化度合が高いときほど尿素添加量QEは多くなり、NOxは適切に浄化される。
(1)エンジン1が搭載された車両の走行距離DISに基づいて第1補正係数K1を設定し、さらに燃料が添加されたときのDPF触媒32の温度上昇量(温度差ΔT)に基づいて第2補正係数K2を設定するようにしている。そして、第1補正係数K1及び第2補正係数K2にて単位添加量TTを補正することで尿素水の供給量を補正するようにしている。従って、SCR触媒41の劣化度合に応じた適切な量の尿素水を供給することができるようになる。
(第2実施形態)
次に、本発明にかかる内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第2実施形態について、図6及び図7を参照して説明する。
本処理が開始されるとまず、燃料添加が行われているか否か、つまりDPF触媒32の再生処理が行われているか否かが判定される(S100)。そして、燃料添加が行われていないときには(S100:NO)、前回の補正係数Kが維持されて(S140)、本処理は終了される。
燃料添加時において、SCR触媒41に流入するNOxの量に応じて、つまりNOx減少量NDに基づいて第3補正係数K3が算出され、この第3補正係数K3によって単位添加量TTが補正されることにより、尿素水の供給量が補正される。より具体的には、NOx減少量NDが多いときほど第3補正係数K3は小さい値となる。従って、SCR触媒41に流入するNOxの量が少ないときほど尿素水の供給量は減量補正される。そのため、酸化触媒31でのNOx還元に併せて、SCR触媒41に供給される尿素水の量を減量補正することができる。また、上述したようなDPF触媒32の劣化の誤認による尿素水供給量の誤補正も抑えられる。
(2)燃料添加時にSCR触媒41に流入するNOxの量、つまり上記NOx減少量NDに応じて第3補正係数K3を算出し、この第3補正係数K3にて単位添加量TTを補正することで尿素水の供給量を補正するようにしている。従って、酸化触媒31でのNOx還元に併せてSCR触媒41への尿素水供給量を補正することができる。また、上述したようなDPF触媒32の劣化の誤認による尿素水供給量の誤補正を抑えることもできるようになる。
・第1実施形態では、燃料添加が行われているときに第2補正係数K2の算出を行うようにした。この他、図3のステップS100の処理を省略する。そして、上述したDPF触媒32の再生処理が行われたとき、つまりDPF触媒32に燃料が添加されたときの温度差ΔTを制御装置80のメモリに記憶しておく。そして、図3のステップS110では、メモリから温度差ΔTを読み込み、この読み込まれた温度差ΔTに基づいて第2補正係数K2を設定してもよい。
・還元剤として尿素水を使用するようにしたが、この他の還元剤を使用するようにしてもよい。
Claims (4)
- 排気通路内に設けられて還元剤の供給によりNOxを浄化するNOx浄化触媒と、同NOx浄化触媒よりも上流の排気通路内に設けられて機関の燃料が添加される排気浄化部材とを備える内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記内燃機関が搭載された車両の総走行距離に応じて前記還元剤の供給量を補正するとともに、燃料が添加されたときの前記排気浄化部材の温度上昇量に応じて前記供給量をさらに補正し、前記温度上昇量が小さいときほど前記供給量を増量補正する
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記排気浄化部材よりも上流の排気通路内には前記燃料が添加される酸化触媒がさらに設けられており、
前記燃料の添加時に前記NOx浄化触媒に流入するNOxの量に応じて前記供給量をさらに補正する
請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記NOx浄化触媒に流入するNOxの量が少ないときほど前記供給量を減量補正する
請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記燃料の添加時に前記NOx浄化触媒に流入するNOxの量をセンサで検出するとともに、同NOxの量を機関運転状態に基づいて推定し、その推定された値と前記センサの検出値との差が大きいときほど前記供給量を減量補正する
請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
