本明細書は、一酸化窒素発生システムに関する。
フリーラジカルであるニトロシルラジカルとしても公知の一酸化窒素(NO)は、重要なシグナル伝達分子である。例えば、NOは血管の平滑筋を弛緩させ、これにより血管拡張がなされ、該血管を通る血流を増加される。これらの効果は、NOが生存期間数秒の高反応性であり、体内において迅速に代謝されるために、小規模な生物学的領域に限定される。
簡潔に、かつ一般的用語で、一酸化窒素を発生する様々なシステムが本明細書中に開示される。一実施態様により、該システムは、空気又は酸素に混合された二酸化窒素を提供する第1のガス供給源、及び圧縮空気及び/又は圧縮酸素を供給する第2のガス供給源を含む。また該システムは、該第1及び第2のガス供給源と連結したベンチレータを含み、該ベンチレータは二酸化窒素に耐性がある。該ベンチレータは、ガス流を制御し、該ガス流中の二酸化窒素濃度の調整を可能にする。該システムは、該ベンチレータに操作可能な状態で連結した1以上の変換装置を更に含み、該変換装置は二酸化窒素を一酸化窒素に変換する。患者用インターフェイスは、一酸化窒素を該患者に送達し、該変換装置に操作可能な状態で連結される。
一酸化窒素(NO)を発生するための様々なシステム及び装置が、本明細書中に開示される。一般に、NOは吸引するか又は別の方法で患者の肺まで送達される。NOが吸引されると、身体の他の血管を付随して拡張することなく、非常に高い局所的用量を達成することができる。したがって、およそ2〜およそ1000ppm(例えば、2を上回り、20、40、80、100、150、200、250、300、350、400、450、500、550、600、650、700、750、800、850、900、950、1000、1200、1400、1600、1800及び2000ppm)の濃度を有するNOガスを、患者に送達することができる。したがって、高用量のNOを使用して、下記疾患の進行を防止する、逆行させる又は抑制することができる;該疾患には、急性肺血管狭窄、外傷、誤嚥又は気道熱傷、肺の脂肪塞栓症、アシドーシス、肺の炎症、成人呼吸促迫症候群、急性肺水腫、急性高山病、心臓手術後の急性肺高血圧症、新生児の遷延性肺高血圧症、周生期吸引症候群、硝子膜症、急性肺動脈血栓塞栓症、ヘパリン-プロタミン反応、敗血症、喘息、気管支喘息重積発作又は低酸素症を含むことができるが、これに限定されない。またNOを使用して、慢性肺高血圧症、気管支肺異形成症、慢性肺血栓塞栓症、特発性肺高血圧症、原発性肺高血圧症又は慢性低酸素症を治療することができる。
Claims (6)
- 一酸化窒素を患者に送達するためのシステムであって、
空気又は酸素中に混合された二酸化窒素を含む第1のガス供給源;
圧縮空気を供給する第2のガス供給源;
該第1及び第2のガス供給源と連結したベンチレータ;
該第1及び第2のガス供給源に接続された混合バルブであって、NO 2 ガスに耐性のある該バルブ;
第1の変換装置が、二酸化窒素を一酸化窒素に変換する、該ベンチレータに操作可能な状態で連結した1以上の変換装置;及び
一酸化窒素を該患者に送達する、該変換装置に操作可能な状態で連結した患者用インターフェイス;を含む、前記一酸化窒素送達システム。 - 前記ベンチレータと連通している、圧縮酸素を供給する第3のガス供給源を更に含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記ベンチレータと前記1以上の変換装置との間に配置された加湿器を更に含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
- 第1の変換装置と一体となっている加湿器を更に含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
- 第2の変換装置と一体となっている加湿器を更に含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
- 二酸化窒素を一酸化窒素に変換する第2の変換装置、及び該第2の変換装置と前記患者用インターフェイスとの間に配置された加湿器を更に含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
