Description
実施形態の、表示装置、表示装置の駆動回路、および表示装置の駆動方法について図を参照して以下に説明をする。第1実施形態ないし第3実施形態における同一構成の各部には同一符号を付して説明を省略する。また、第1実施形態ないし第3実施形態における共通部分については単に実施形態と称して以下において説明をする。
されるドット輝度信号と、コントローラ132の64個のラインセレクト端子(SL)か
ら出力されるラインセレクト信号とは、同期して表示パネル12に供給される。256個
のエーディ端子(AD)から出力されるドット輝度信号の内容は、ラインセレクト端子(
SL)から出力されるラインセレクト信号が1のラインを選択する毎に変化して、1ライ
ン毎の画像表示が順次されて、表示パネル12の64ラインの画像表示の残像によって1
フレームの下側の画像が視認者に認識される。

干渉が発生し、輝度変化が発生するものであると推測している。

パネル12に属する1のラインとの2つのラインは、64ライン離間する。図4(b)に
示すスキャンでは、このように表示パネル11のスキャン方向と表示パネル12のスキャ
ン方向とが同方向であるので、このようなスキャンを上述したように同方向スキャンと称
する。
図5は第1実施形態である原理的な同方向スキャンにおける問題点を説明するための図である。
第2実施形態の表示装置について説明をする。図2に示す第2実施形態の表示装置1では、中央演算装置15の第1のチップセレクト端子(CS1)はゲート16の第1の入力端子に、中央演算装置15の共通チップセレクト端子(CS*)はゲート16の第2の入力端子に接続されている。また、中央演算装置15の第2のチップセレクト端子(CS2)はゲート17の第1の入力端子に、中央演算装置15の共通チップセレクト端子(CS*)はゲート17の第2の入力端子に接続されている。第2実施形態の表示装置は、共通チップセレクト端子(CS*)から出力されるチップセレクト信号に特徴を有し、初期設定におけるコマンド信号の内容に特徴を有する。
図7は、第3実施形態の表示装置の要部の概略図である。図7に示す表示装置2は、第2実施形態の表示装置1がゲート16とゲート17とを備えたのに対して、ゲート16とゲート17とを備えない点で相違する。コントローラ131のチップセレクト端子(CS)は、中央演算装置15のチップセレクト端子(CS1)に接続され、コントローラ132のチップセレクト端子(CS)は、中央演算装置15のチップセレクト端子(CS2)に接続されている。また、表示装置2は、中央演算装置15がタイマBをさらに備える点においても表示装置1と相違する。
第1実施形態ないし第3実施形態においては、コントローラ131のスキャン開始の指示書き込みの時刻とコントローラ132のスキャン開始の指示書き込みの時刻とをどのように同期させるかという重要な課題を解決するものであった。上述したスキャン開始の指示書き込みの時刻を設定した後は、コントローラ131のメモリとコントローラ132のメモリとに連続して輝度データを書き込むことになる。そして、コントローラ131とコントローラ132とは、初期設定によって設定されたスキャン方向の設定の情報等に従って自動的にスキャン動作を継続する。
上述した実施形態では、データバスのバス幅は16ビットとしたが、一般的には、データバスのバス幅はFビットとしても良い。ここで、Fは任意の正整数である。

- 複数個であるL個の表示パネルと、
前記L個の表示パネルの各々の輝度制御線及びオン/オフ制御線を駆動する、互いに同一の構成の集積回路で形成された前記L個のコントローラを有する駆動回路と、
前記駆動回路を制御する中央制御部と、を備え、

前記中央制御部からのクロック信号に基づきクロック同期の制御がなされ、
