ワイヤリングハーネス、ホース、管類等はしばしば、自動車、工業、航空宇宙、海洋および他の用途における厳しい環境条件に耐えなければならない。例えば、ワイヤハーネスは、車両作業時において過度の熱または振動を受けて、それがワイヤハーネスに損傷を与え、その作業を損ない、その耐用年数を低減し得る。保護スリービングでワイヤハーネスを被覆して、かかる厳しい環境の影響からそれらを保護するのが一般的である。1つのかかるスリーブは、概ね管状の巻き付け可能製品を形成するように熱硬化され得る工学的プラスチック材料により構成される複数のマルチフィラメントおよび/またはモノフィラメントを組み込んだ、織り基材を含む。スリーブのエッジ付近の(すなわち、端部付近または長手方向スプリットに沿う)フィラメントは、製品が適当な長さに切断される際に突出する、ほつれる、および/または落ちる傾向にある。美的に不快であることは別として、ほつれて突出したフィラメントは、それらの嵌めあい部品との端部接続器具または連結器具を適切に接続する能力を妨げることにより、スリーブがその回りに配置されるチューブ、ホースまたはワイヤハーネスを汚し得る。保護スリーブはまた、ブレイズまたは編まれて最終的に細長い管状形態を有し得、スリーブが適当な長さに切断される際に、端部でほつれ得るマルチフィラメントおよび/またはモノフィラメントを含み得る。
導管、ホース、ワイヤハーネス等の保護用の細長い保護織物スリーブは、複数のフィラメント部材の布基材と別の材料とを含む。基材は織られるか、編まれるか、ブレイドされ得る。基材のフィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかは切断エッジまで延び、第1の高分子材料のコアと、第2の高分子材料の外側シースとを含む、多成分材料で加工される。外側シースは熱可溶性であり、内側コアは熱硬化可能である。フィラメント部材の外側シースは、少なくとも切断エッジ付近の領域において他の材料に熱溶解され、切断エッジがほどけるのを防止、またはフィラメント部材と他の材料が基材から抜けるのを防止し、一方、コアは熱硬化されて保護スリーブの所望の形状を形成する。

もいくつかは、他の第1のフィラメントファイバ14の隣接するものから離間して、離間した第1のフィラメント部材14の隣接するものの間に複数の概ね開放スペース22が存在する。図示されるように、第1のフィラメント部材14は、部材14の複数回折り返しが互いに隣り合って配置されるが、介在する開放スペース22により隣接グループからは分離されるように、部材14の密に織られたグループ24に配置され得る。第2のフィラメント部材18は、第1及び第2の部材14、18の開放メッシュが画成されるように、互いに離間する。
材の端部ほつれを最小限または防止する。本実施形態では、円形に編まれた、またはブレイドされたスリーブは複数の個々のフィラメント部材から加工され、少なくともそのいくつかは、切断されると端部のほつれおよび/またはほどけがちであるモノフィラメント工学的プラスチック材料を含む。第1の実施形態と同様に、スリーブ34は、上述および図4で図示されたのと同じコア/シース構造を有する、少なくともいくつかの多成分モノフィラメント36を組み込む。本実施形態では、モノフィラメント36の少なくともいくつかは互いに、および/または選択された位置41、特にスリーブ34の対向する切断端部38、40付近で異なる材料の隣接するフィラメント部材に接合されて、モノフィラメント36がほつれたり、ほどけたり、および/またはスリーブ34から引き抜かれたりするのを防止する。このように、スリーブ34はスリーブの保護的側面および/または耐用年数に悪影響を及ぼすという心配なしに切り取られ得る。

Claims (21)
- 互いに織り合わされたフィラメント糸を有する基材であって、前記フィラメント糸は第1の方向に方向付けられた第1のフィラメント部材と、前記第1の方向を横切る第2の方向に方向付けられた複数の第2のフィラメント部材とを含み、前記第1のフィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかはその間にスペースを設けるように周方向に互いに離間して配置され、前記フィラメント糸の少なくともいくつかは熱硬化高分子材料のコアと熱可溶高分子材料の外側シースとを有するモノフィラメントであり、さらに
前記基材から分離し、前記スペースの少なくともいくつかにおいて、前記第2のフィラメント部材と織り合わされた不織材料のストリップとを含み、
前記モノフィラメントの少なくともいくつかの前記外側シースは前記材料に熱溶解されて、前記モノフィラメントの少なくともいくつかの前記コアは付勢された形状に熱硬化される、織布。 - 前記第1のフィラメント部材は互いに隣接した2つ以上のフィラメントからなるグループをなして配置され、前記グループは前記スペースによって周方向に互いに分離されている、請求項1に記載の織布。
- 前記付勢された形状は長手方向軸を有する管状スリーブであり、前記第1のフィラメント部材および不織材料の前記ストリップは前記軸に沿って延びる、請求項1または請求項2に記載の織布。
- 前記第2のフィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかは前記モノフィラメントとして設けられ、前記第1のフィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかはマルチフィラメントとして設けられている、請求項1から請求項3のいずれか1項に記載の織布。
- 前記織布は前記基材の外面側に位置する第1のサイドと内面側に位置する第2のサイドとを有し、前記第1および第2のサイドの一方に接着された第1の層をさらに含む、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の織布。
- 前記第1および第2のサイドの他方に接着された第2の層をさらに含む、請求項5に記載の織布。
- 前記織布は付勢されて内面および外面を有する管状形状を有し、前記第1および第2の層の一方は前記外面に接着された金属箔層であり、前記第1および第2の層の他方は前記内面に接着されている、請求項6に記載の織布。
- 部材を保護するための織物スリーブであって、該織物スリーブは、
互いに織り合わせられたフィラメント部材を有する基材であって、前記フィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかは熱硬化高分子材料のコアと、熱可溶高分子材料の外側シースとを有するモノフィラメントであり、前記外側シースの少なくともいくつかは前記フィラメント部材の他のものと熱溶解される基材を含む、織物スリーブ。 - 前記フィラメント部材はブレイドされる、請求項8に記載のスリーブ。
- 前記スリーブは、対向する端部間に延びる連続する円筒状壁を備えて構成される、請求項8または請求項9に記載のスリーブ。
- 前記壁の外面に接合された不織屈折材料をさらに含む、請求項10に記載のスリーブ。
- 不織材料は前記スリーブの内面を形成し、屈折材料は前記スリーブの外面を形成する、請求項8から請求項10のいずれか1項に記載のスリーブ。
- 前記スリーブは前記スリーブの長さに沿って延びる対向するエッジを備えた壁を有し、前記エッジの一方に接着され、かつ前記エッジの他方に接着するための接着剤を有して、周方向に連続する金属箔外層を形成する金属箔ストリップをさらに含む、請求項8から請求項12のいずれか1項に記載のスリーブ。
- 織布を形成する方法であって、
熱硬化高分子材料のコアと、前記熱硬化高分子とは異なる熱可溶高分子材料の外側シースとを有する二材料フィラメント部材を設ける工程と、
前記フィラメント部材を織り合わせる工程と、
前記フィラメント部材から分離した少なくとも1つの材料を設ける工程と、
前記外側シースを前記少なくとも1つの材料に熱溶解する工程と、
前記コアを付勢された形状に熱硬化させる工程と、
を含む方法。 - 前記少なくとも1つの材料を前記フィラメント部材に織り合わせる工程をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 織り処理を用いて前記織り合わせる工程を実施する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- ブレイド処理を用いて前記織り合わせる工程を実施する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記フィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかを第1の方向に織り合わせ、前記フィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかを、前記第1の方向を横切る第2の方向に織り合わせる工程をさらに含み、前記第1の方向に延びる前記フィラメント部材の少なくともいくつかを、その間にスペースを設けるように互いに離間して配置する工程と、前記少なくとも1つの材料を不織材料の複数の細長いストリップとして設ける工程と、前記スペースの少なくともいくつかにおいて、前記第2の方向に延びる前記フィラメント部材間に前記ストリップを織り合わせる工程とをさらに含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記付勢された形状を、長手方向軸を有する管状スリーブとして熱硬化する工程をさらに含み、前記不織材料のストリップは前記軸に沿って延びる、請求項14から請求項18のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 別々の不織材料のシートを前記管状スリーブの対向するサイドに熱溶解する工程をさらに含む、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記不織材料のシートの一方を屈折材料として設ける工程と、前記不織材料のシートの他方を絶縁材料として設ける工程とをさらに含む、請求項20に記載の方法。
