互いの外周面を対向させて駆動回転する一対のロールを具備し、
前記一対のロール同士の間のロール間隙に、熱可塑性接着剤を介して重合物が重ね合わされた状態の繊維状連続シートをその連続方向に沿って通す際に、前記外周面によって前記重合物と前記繊維状連続シートとを一体に挟圧するプレス装置であって、
前記熱可塑性接着剤は、接着剤塗布装置のノズルから吐出されて塗布され、
前記熱可塑性接着剤は、前記ロール間隙に到達した時点で凝集した状態であり、
前記一対のロールのうちで少なくとも前記繊維状連続シートの側に位置するロールを加熱する加熱機構を有し、
前記加熱機構は、収容孔に収容された発熱体を備え、当該収容孔は、その中心が前記加熱機構の設けられたロールの回転軸と一致し、且つ、当該回転軸に沿って形成されており、
前記加熱機構によって、前記ロールの外周面の温度が70℃〜120℃の範囲に収まるように前記ロールが加熱されることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス装置。

前記一対のロールのうちで少なくとも前記繊維状連続シートの側に位置するロールは、加熱機構によって加熱され、
前記加熱機構は、収容孔に収容された発熱体を備え、当該収容孔は、その中心が前記加熱機構の設けられたロールの回転軸と一致し、且つ、当該回転軸に沿って形成されていることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス方法。
前記一対のロール同士の間のロール間隙に、熱可塑性接着剤を介して重合物が重ね合わされた状態の繊維状連続シートをその連続方向に沿って通す際に、前記外周面によって前記重合物と前記繊維状連続シートとを一体に挟圧するプレス装置であって、
前記一対のロールのうちで少なくとも前記繊維状連続シートの側に位置するロールを加熱する加熱機構を有し、前記加熱機構によって、前記ロールの外周面の温度が70℃〜120℃の範囲に収まるように前記ロールが加熱されることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス装置。
このような吸収性物品に係るプレス装置によれば、挟圧時には、繊維状連続シートと当接するロールの外周面の温度は、70℃〜120℃の範囲に収められている。よって、接着剤が繊維状連続シートの繊維間隙間を通って外周面の方へ染み出した場合であっても、当該外周面への接着剤の付着や同外周面への繊維状連続シートの貼り付きは有効に抑制される。
前記外周面の温度が80℃〜110℃の範囲に収められているのが望ましい。
このような吸収性物品に係るプレス装置によれば、挟圧時には、繊維状連続シートと当接するロールの外周面の温度は、80℃〜110℃の範囲に収められている。よって、接着剤が外周面の方へ染み出した場合であっても、当該外周面への接着剤の付着や同外周面への繊維状連続シートの貼り付きは、より有効に抑制される。
前記熱可塑性接着剤はホットメルト接着剤であり、
前記繊維状連続シートは、ティッシュペーパーであるのが望ましい。
このような吸収性物品に係るプレス装置によれば、上述の抑制効果を有効に享受することができる。
前記繊維状連続シートには、前記吸収性物品に係る吸収体が前記繊維状連続シートの前記連続方向に沿って間欠的に載置されており、
前記繊維状連続シートを第1繊維状連続シートとした場合に、前記吸収体は、第2繊維状連続シートで覆われることにより、該第2繊維状連続シートと前記第1繊維状連続シートとで挟み込まれており、
前記加熱機構が前記一対のロールの両方のロールを加熱することにより、前記両方のロールの外周面の温度が70℃〜120℃の範囲に収められているのが望ましい。
このような吸収性物品に係るプレス装置によれば、第1繊維状連続シート及び第2繊維状連続シートの両方の外面に接着剤が染み出す虞があるが、この点につき、各ロールの外周面の温度を70℃〜120℃の範囲に収めるようにしている。よって、外周面への接着剤の付着や同外周面への繊維状連続シートの貼り付きを有効に抑制可能となる。

このような吸収性物品に係るプレス方法よれば、挟圧時には、繊維状連続シートと当接するロールの外周面の温度は、70℃〜120℃の範囲に収められている。よって、接着剤が繊維状連続シートの繊維間隙間を通って外周面の方へ染み出した場合であっても、当該外周面への接着剤の付着や同外周面への繊維状連続シートの貼り付きは有効に抑制される。

詳しく説明すると、上下のプレスロール12,12で挟圧されるべき上記半製品2にあっては、その上下面をなす上下の連続シート6,4が、前述の如き繊維状シートであることから、挟圧時に、半製品2の内部のホットメルト接着剤が、各繊維状連続シート6,4の繊維間隙間を通って、同シート6,4の外面たる上下面へと染み出すことがあり得る。そして、染み出した接着剤は、プレスロール12,12の外周面12s,12sに付着してこれを汚し、場合によっては同外周面12s,12sに堆積するとともに、この堆積した接着剤の接着作用により、繊維状連続シート6,4が外周面12s,12sに貼り付いて巻き込まれ、その結果、繊維状連続シート6,4が破れてしまう。そして、その場合には、製造ラインを停止して、破れた繊維状連続シート6,4の除去や外周面12s,12sの清掃等といった復旧作業を行わねばならず、結果、生産性の低下を招いてしまう。そのため、かかるプレスロール12の外周面12sへのホットメルト接着剤の付着や同外周面への繊維状連続シート6,4の貼り付きを抑制し、同シート6,4の破損を防止する目的で、各プレスロール12を加熱して、その外周面12sの温度をその目標温度範囲の70℃〜120℃に収めている。なお、この目標温度範囲に収めることで、接着剤の付着や繊維状連続シート6,4の貼り付きが抑制されて同シート6,4の破損が防止される理由については後述する。
先ず、繊維状連続シート4(6)がプレスロール12のロール間隙Grに到達した時点のホットメルト接着剤の温度は、約40℃〜60℃にまで降下している。よって、ロール間隙Grに到達直前の接着剤は、繊維状連続シート4(6)の繊維に付着しながら概ね凝集した状態にある。
しかし、外周面12sの温度が上述の120℃以上の如く高温の場合には、前述したように接着剤の凝集破壊に基づいて外周面12sには多量の接着剤が堆積する。すると、この堆積量が多いことに基づいて接着剤の接着力も強くなり、つまり、当該接着剤を介して繊維状連続シート4(6)が外周面12sに高い接合強度で貼り付くことになり、結果、繊維状連続シート4(6)に搬送用張力が作用しても、外周面12sから繊維状連続シート4(6)は剥がれずに踏ん張った状態となる。一方、ここで、繊維状連続シート4(6)は多数の繊維の集合体であることから、上記の接合強度よりも強度的に弱い部分を有し易い。そのため、最終的には、当該弱い部分を起点として破れることにより、繊維状連続シート4(6)の一部が外周面12sに貼り付いたままプレスロール12に持って行かれながら、残りの部分が下工程へと搬送されることとなる。つまり、繊維状連続シート4(6)は破損してしまうことになる。
上述の実施形態では、上下一対のプレスロール12,12には、第2繊維状連続シート6と、吸収体3と、第1繊維状連続シート4とが一体に重なった状態の半製品2が供給されていた(図2A)。これに対して、この変形例では、図4に示すように、上下一対のプレスロール12,12には、吸収体3が載置された第1繊維状連続シート4と、第2繊維状連続シート6とが互いに分かれた状態で別々に供給され、プレスロール12,12同士の間のロール間隙Grで、これら連続シート4,6が重なり合って接合一体化されるようになっている。
以上、本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明は、かかる実施形態に限定されるものではなく、以下に示すような変形が可能である。

Claims (5)
- 互いの外周面を対向させて駆動回転する一対のロールを具備し、
前記一対のロール同士の間のロール間隙に、熱可塑性接着剤を介して重合物が重ね合わされた状態の繊維状連続シートをその連続方向に沿って通す際に、前記外周面によって前記重合物と前記繊維状連続シートとを一体に挟圧するプレス装置であって、
前記熱可塑性接着剤は、接着剤塗布装置のノズルから吐出されて塗布され、
前記熱可塑性接着剤は、前記ロール間隙に到達した時点で凝集した状態であり、
前記一対のロールのうちで少なくとも前記繊維状連続シートの側に位置するロールを加熱する加熱機構を有し、
前記加熱機構は、収容孔に収容された発熱体を備え、当該収容孔は、その中心が前記加熱機構の設けられたロールの回転軸と一致し、且つ、当該回転軸に沿って形成されており、
前記加熱機構によって、前記ロールの外周面の温度が70℃〜120℃の範囲に収まるように前記ロールが加熱されることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス装置。 - 請求項1に記載の吸収性物品に係るプレス装置であって、
前記外周面の温度が80℃〜110℃の範囲に収められていることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載の吸収性物品に係るプレス装置であって、
前記熱可塑性接着剤はホットメルト接着剤であり、
前記繊維状連続シートは、ティッシュペーパーであることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス装置。 - 請求項1乃至3の何れかに記載の吸収性物品に係るプレス装置であって、
前記繊維状連続シートには、前記吸収性物品に係る吸収体が前記繊維状連続シートの前記連続方向に沿って間欠的に載置されており、
前記繊維状連続シートを第1繊維状連続シートとした場合に、前記吸収体は、第2繊維状連続シートで覆われることにより、該第2繊維状連続シートと前記第1繊維状連続シートとで挟み込まれており、
前記加熱機構が前記一対のロールの両方のロールを加熱することにより、前記両方のロールの外周面の温度が70℃〜120℃の範囲に収められていることを特徴とするプレス装置。 - 互いの外周面を対向させて駆動回転する一対のロール同士の間のロール間隙に、熱可塑性接着剤を介して重合物が重ね合わされた状態の繊維状連続シートをその連続方向に沿って通す際に、前記外周面によって前記重合物と前記繊維状連続シートとを一体に挟圧するプレス方法であって、
前記一対のロールのうちで少なくとも前記繊維状連続シートの側に位置するロールの外周面の温度が、70℃〜120℃の範囲に収まるように前記ロールを加熱することと、
前記外周面の温度が前記範囲に収められた前記ロールの外周面によって、前記ロール間隙を通過する前記重合物と前記繊維状連続シートとを一体に挟圧することと、を有し、
前記熱可塑性接着剤は、接着剤塗布装置のノズルから吐出されて塗布され、
前記熱可塑性接着剤は、前記ロール間隙に到達した時点で凝集した状態であり、
前記一対のロールのうちで少なくとも前記繊維状連続シートの側に位置するロールは、加熱機構によって加熱され、
前記加熱機構は、収容孔に収容された発熱体を備え、当該収容孔は、その中心が前記加熱機構の設けられたロールの回転軸と一致し、且つ、当該回転軸に沿って形成されていることを特徴とする吸収性物品に係るプレス方法。
