出口において利用者が車両を運転してゲートに来ると図示しない車両感知器が当該車両を感知し出口車番カメラ１０４が車体を撮像する。ゲート近傍に設置された料金精算機１０７は利用者に駐車券１０３を挿入するように告知し、挿入された駐車券１０３の駐車券番号を読み取る。
出口車番カメラ１０４が撮像した入場車両の画像は、画像処理装置１０５に送られる。画像処理装置１０５は、画像から車番部分を抽出し、その車番を認識し、出場車両の画像及び車番部分の画像を記録保存する。
駐車場管理計算機１０６は、出口車番カメラ１０４が撮像した車両の車番をもとに画像処理装置１０５が保存している車番を検索し、検索した車番からその車番と関連して駐車場管理計算機１０６の所定領域に記録保存している駐車券番号を検索する。さらに、料金精算機１０７は上記のように挿入され読み取った駐車券番号と駐車場管理計算機１０６が検索した駐車券番号とを照合する。
料金精算機１０７は、照合の結果、駐車券番号が一致している場合は、出場時に料金精算機１０７に挿入された駐車券に関して、入場時と出場時の車両が同一であると判断し、入場時刻、出場時刻に基づいて駐車料金を計算し、精算処理をする。
料金精算機１０７は、照合の結果、駐車券番号が一致していない場合は、出場時に料金精算機１０７に挿入された駐車券に関して、入場時と出場時の車両が同一でないと判断し、駐車場管理計算機１０６から入場時画像、入場レーン、発行時の駐車券番号及び入場時刻、車番を受け、この情報を出場年月日、出場時刻とともに画像表示画面１０８に表示する。この表示情報により、駐車券の発行時の駐車券番号と料金精算時の駐車券の駐車券番号とが異なることを知らせることができる。このとき、料金精算機１０７は、出場時の車両が入場した時刻と、出場時現在の時刻から駐車料金の計算を行い、その料金を前記画像表示画面１０８に表示するようにしてもよい。（図２）

料金精算機１０７は、出口車番カメラ１０４が撮像した車両の車番に関して駐車場管理計算機１０６記録している入場時刻と現在の出場時刻に基づいて駐車料金を計算し、精算処理をする。このとき、料金精算機１０７は、駐車場管理計算機１０６から入場時画像、入場レーン、発行時の駐車券番号及び入場年月日、入場時刻、車番を受け、この情報を出場年月日、出場時刻、駐車料金とともに画像表示画面１０８に表示する。この表示情報により、駐車券の発行時の駐車券番号を知らせることができる。
