Description
領域分割法とは、図2に示すように、マトリックス4中に存在するSi粒子5のうち互いに隣り合うSi粒子5の間に線(本発明においては、観察視野内のSi粒子5をボロノイ多角形に変換し、そのときの互いの境界となる線)を引くことで、1個のSi粒子5が占有する領域(線引きした線で囲まれた領域。領域分割セルと称す)を確定し、その領域面積を統計計算することにより、領域分割面積を定量的に判断するものである。
浴槽13の一部には、浴槽13に溜められた溶湯を吐出させる溶湯供給ノズル14が設けられている。この溶湯供給ノズル14の先端側には、1対のローラ15,15が互いに微小な隙間を介して設けられている。1対のローラ15,15は、軸方向が溶湯の流れに直交する方向で且つ水平方向に延びるようにして配置されている。これにより、溶解溶融炉12内の溶湯は、浴槽13及び溶湯供給ノズル14を通って、1対のローラ15,15間に供給される。
表1中の「Si領域分割セル」とは、Al基摺動合金層3の摺動表面を領域分割法によって区切った領域のうちの1つの領域のことである。表1中の「平均面積」は、「Si領域分割セル」の平均面積を示している。又、この「平均面積」が小さいほど、小さいSi粒子がより緻密かつ均一度が高く存在していることを表している。
耐疲労性試験の結果を考察するに、実施例品1〜12は、比較例品1〜3と異なりSi粒子5の最大直径が小さくかつ面積比95%のSi粒子の直径が小さいので、耐疲労性に優れていることが理解できる。
尚、表1には記載していないが、本実施例品1〜12のAlの代わりにAl合金を用い、このAl合金としてAlに、1〜10質量%のZn、0.1〜5質量%のCu、0.05〜5質量%のMgのいずれか1種以上を添加したものを用いた場合も、本実施例品1〜12とほぼ同様の良好な耐疲労性の結果を得ることができた。
Claims (1)
- Siを1〜15質量%含むAl基摺動合金において、
該合金の観察視野においてSiが粒子状に存在し、
前記Si粒子は、最大直径が1.9〜7.5μmであり、
前記視野における前記Si粒子の合計面積のうち、直径が5.5μm以下の前記Si粒子の合計面積が、95%以上を占め、
領域分割法により測定した前記Si粒子の領域面積の平均は、5〜10μm2であることを特徴とするAl基摺動合金。
