Description

The present invention relates to a toner replenishing device that replenishes toner to a developing device provided in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile, or a composite machine using an electrophotographic system, and an image forming apparatus including the same. is there.

Conventionally, in an image forming apparatus, in order to visualize a latent image formed on an image carrier made of a photoconductor as a toner image, toner is supplied to the photoconductor by a developing device. When the toner in the developing device is consumed, the toner is supplied to the developing device using a toner supply device such as a toner cartridge or a toner container.

The toner is an extremely fine powder, so that the toner will not scatter and contaminate the operator or the surrounding area when the toner replenishing device is replaced. The toner replenishing device has a sealed structure so that the stored toner does not leak to the outside.

For example, in Patent Document 1, a container main body that accommodates toner and a lid member that covers the opening of the container main body are both made of synthetic resin, and the container main body and the lid member are fixed by ultrasonic welding or the like. The inside of the container body is sealed.

JP 2009-237217 A (paragraph [0007], FIG. 6)

However, in the above-described prior art, the lid member used in the toner replenishing device is usually formed in a flat plate shape, and warping occurs when the lid member is molded, and the lid member may not finish flat. is there. Even if the lid member having such warpage and the container main body are fixed by ultrasonic welding, a non-fixed portion is generated, and the toner may leak from the portion. Therefore, if a lid member within an allowable range of warpage is selected and the selected lid member is fixed to the container main body, defective parts that cannot be used and should be discarded are generated and the yield is lowered. Further, when the lid member is corrected for warping and the lid member and the container main body are fixed after the warping correction operation, the workability is lowered, and in any case, the cost is increased.

The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-described problems, and includes a toner replenishing device that suppresses the warping of the lid member and securely fixes the container main body containing the toner and the lid member. Another object of the present invention is to provide an image forming apparatus.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a toner container having an opening on one surface, a replenishing port formed in the toner container and supplying toner to the outside, and a mounting surface formed around the opening. A toner supply device comprising: a container main body; a flat lid member fixed to an attachment surface of the container main body; and a transport member that transports toner in the toner storage portion to the supply port. Has a rotating shaft and a toner conveying portion formed on the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft, and the rotating shaft is rotatably supported by the lid member.

According to this configuration, even if the lid member is warped when the lid member is processed by plastic molding, for example, the warp is suppressed by the rotation shaft of the conveying member supported by the lid member, and the mounting surface of the container body is suppressed. The lid member is fixed to the container main body in a state of being in contact with the container body.

In the invention according to claim 2, the lid member is made of a resin material, and is fixed to the mounting surface of the container body by welding.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, the lid member includes a flat plate portion opposed to the toner storage portion, and projects outward from the flat plate portion to store the conveyance member and support the rotation shaft of the conveyance member. It is characterized by being formed with a supporting portion. According to this configuration, even when the lid member is molded, for example, the flat plate portion is not warped and flat, the warpage is suppressed by the rotation shaft of the transport member supported by the support portion of the lid member, and the lid member is a container. It is easily fixed to the body.

According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided an image forming apparatus equipped with the toner replenishing device having the above configuration.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, when the lid member is warped when the lid member is molded, for example, by plastic molding, and the rotation shaft of the conveying member is supported by the lid member, the lid member is warped by the rotation shaft. When the lid member is attached to the container body, the lid member is securely fixed to the container body. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a toner replenishing device in which the stored toner is not leaked to the outside without reducing the yield and without the cost of performing work such as warping correction.

According to the invention described in claim 2, when the lid member is fixed to the mounting surface of the container body by welding, warpage of the lid member is suppressed by the rotation shaft of the conveying member supported by the lid member, and the lid member is When attached to the container body, the lid member is securely fixed to the container body.

According to the third aspect of the present invention, when the lid member is molded and processed, for example, even if the flat plate portion is not warped and finished flat, the lid member supports the rotation shaft of the transport member. Warpage is suppressed, and the lid member is securely fixed to the container body when the lid member is attached to the container body. In addition, since it is not necessary to reduce the volume of the toner storage portion, a large amount of toner can be stored in the container body.

According to the fourth aspect of the present invention, it is possible to provide an image forming apparatus including a toner supply device that suppresses the warping of the lid member and securely fixes the container main body that accommodates the toner and the lid member.

1 is a diagram illustrating a schematic configuration of an image forming apparatus equipped with a toner supply device according to an embodiment of the present invention. 1 is a perspective view showing a state in which a toner replenishing device according to an embodiment is mounted on a developing device Sectional drawing which shows the state which mounted | wore the developing device with the toner supply apparatus which concerns on embodiment The perspective view which shows the container main body of the toner replenishing apparatus which concerns on embodiment. The perspective view which shows the cover member of the toner supply apparatus which concerns on embodiment Sectional drawing which shows the conveyance member of the toner supply apparatus which concerns on embodiment

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings, but the present invention is not limited to these embodiments. Further, the use of the invention and the terms shown here are not limited thereto.

FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of an image forming apparatus equipped with a toner supply device according to an embodiment of the present invention. The image forming apparatus 1 is provided with a sheet feeding unit 2 disposed in a lower portion thereof, a sheet conveying unit 3 disposed on a side of the sheet feeding unit 2, and an upper side of the sheet conveying unit 3. An image forming unit 4, a fixing unit 5 disposed on the discharge side of the image forming unit 4, an image reading unit 6 disposed above the image forming unit 4 and the fixing unit 5, and a toner replenishing device. A toner container 100 is provided.

The paper feed unit 2 includes a plurality of paper feed cassettes 7 for containing paper 9, and the paper 9 is fed from the selected paper feed cassette 7 among the plurality of paper feed cassettes 7 by the rotation of the paper feed roller 8. Each sheet is surely sent out to the sheet transport unit 3.

The sheet 9 sent to the sheet conveying unit 3 is conveyed toward the image forming unit 4 via the sheet supply path 10 of the sheet conveying unit 3. The image forming unit 4 forms a toner image on a sheet 9 by an electrophotographic process. The image forming unit 4 includes a photosensitive member 11 rotatably supported in an arrow direction in FIG. A charging unit 12, an exposure unit 13, a developing device 14, a transfer unit 15, a cleaning unit 16, and a charge removal unit 17 are provided along the rotation direction.

The charging unit 12 includes a charging wire to which a high voltage is applied. When a predetermined potential is applied to the surface of the photoconductor 11 by corona discharge from the charging wire, the surface of the photoconductor 11 is uniformly charged. Then, when light based on the image data of the original read by the image reading unit 6 is irradiated to the photoconductor 11 by the exposure unit 13, the surface potential of the photoconductor 11 is selectively attenuated, and the surface of the photoconductor 11 is irradiated. An electrostatic latent image is formed.

Next, the developing device 14 develops the electrostatic latent image on the surface of the photoconductor 11, and a toner image is formed on the surface of the photoconductor 11. This toner image is transferred by the transfer unit 15 to the paper 9 supplied between the photoconductor 11 and the transfer unit 15.

The sheet 9 on which the toner image has been transferred is conveyed toward the fixing unit 5 disposed on the downstream side of the image forming unit 4 in the sheet conveying direction. In the fixing unit 5, the sheet 9 is heated and pressed by the heating member 18 and the pressure roller 19, and the toner image is melted and fixed on the sheet 9. Next, the sheet 9 on which the toner image is fixed is discharged onto the discharge tray 21 by the discharge roller pair 20.

After the transfer by the transfer unit 15, the toner remaining on the surface of the photoconductor 11 is removed by the cleaning unit 16, and the residual charge on the surface of the photoconductor 11 is removed by the charge eliminating unit 17. Then, the photosensitive member 11 is charged again by the charging unit 12, and image formation is performed in the same manner.

When image formation is repeated, the toner in the developing device 14 is consumed. In order to supply toner to the developing device 14, a toner container 100 is detachably disposed above the developing device 14. When it is detected by a remaining amount detection sensor (not shown) installed in the developing device 14 that the toner in the developing device 14 has become a predetermined amount or less, the toner is supplied from the toner container 100 to the developing device 14. The

Next, the developing device 14 and the toner container 100 attached to the developing device 14 will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing a state where the toner container is mounted on the developing device, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a state where the toner container is mounted on the developing device.

As shown in FIG. 2, the toner container 100 is detachably provided in the vicinity of the developing device 14 that supplies toner to the photoconductor 11 (see FIG. 1) in the photoconductor unit 31. The toner container 100 stores toner in an interior sealed by a container main body 121 and a lid member 131. A filling port 121e for filling toner into the toner container 100 is formed in the front wall portion of the container main body 121, and a detachable cap 126 is attached to the filling port 121e.

Further, a handle 121d for holding the toner container 100 is formed on the front wall portion of the container main body 121. When the handle 121d is held and the toner container 100 is operated in the longitudinal direction shown in FIG. 2, the toner container 100 is developed. It is attached to and detached from the container 14. In addition, let each direction of FIG. 2 orthogonal to a longitudinal direction be a horizontal direction and an up-down direction, respectively.

When the toner container 100 is mounted on the developing device 14, the connecting shaft 133 provided on the support wall portion of the toner container 100 meshes with a gear (not shown) on the developing device 14 side, and the rotation of the gear is transmitted to the connecting shaft 133. Is done. The connecting shaft 133 is provided on a later-described conveying member in the toner container 100. When the connecting shaft 133 rotates, the toner stored in the toner container 100 moves in a predetermined direction by the rotation of the conveying member.

Further, a stirring member connecting shaft 134 is disposed on the support wall portion of the toner container 100, and the stirring member connecting shaft 134 meshes with a gear (not shown) on the developing device 14 side, and the rotation of the gear is for the stirring member. It is transmitted to the connecting shaft 134. The connecting shaft 134 is provided in an agitating member (to be described later) in the toner container 100. When the agitating member connecting shaft 134 rotates, the toner contained in the toner container 100 is agitated by the rotation of the agitating member, and the conveying member Move towards

As shown in FIG. 3, the developing device 14 includes a developing container 22 that stores one-component magnetic toner, stirring screws 23 and 24 that stir the toner, a developing roller 27, and a regulating member 28.

The agitating screws 23 and 24 are rotatably disposed in the developing container 22, and agitate and circulate the toner and supply the toner to the developing roller 27.

The developing roller 27 includes a fixed magnet body 25 and a developing sleeve 26. The developing sleeve 26 is made of a cylindrical nonmagnetic material such as aluminum, and is rotatably supported by the developing container 22 at a position adjacent to the stirring screw 24. The fixed magnet body 25 is a permanent magnet fixed in the developing sleeve 26 and generates a magnetic field toward the developing sleeve 26. Further, the developing roller 27 is exposed from the opening of the developing container 22 and faces the photosensitive member 11 that is an image carrier at a predetermined interval. This opposed area is a developing area for supplying the toner carried on the developing sleeve 26 toward the photoreceptor 11. Further, a developing bias in which alternating current is superimposed on direct current is applied to the developing sleeve 26 in order to supply toner to the photoreceptor 11.

The regulating member 28 regulates the toner carried on the surface of the developing sleeve 26 to a predetermined layer thickness, and is attached to the developing container 22 with a predetermined interval from the surface of the developing sleeve 26.

The toner supplied from the stirring screw 24 is carried on the surface of the developing sleeve 26 by the magnetic force of the fixed magnet body 25 in the developing sleeve 26. The carried toner is regulated to a predetermined layer thickness by the regulating member 28, and is conveyed toward the developing area by the rotation of the developing sleeve 26. When a developing bias is applied to the developing sleeve 26, a potential difference is generated between the developing sleeve 26 and the photoconductor 11 in the developing region, and the toner on the developing sleeve 26 is supplied to the photoconductor 11, The electrostatic latent image is developed into a toner image.

A toner receiving port 95 is provided at the top of the developing container 22. When the toner in the developing container 22 is consumed and reduced, new toner is supplied from the toner container 100 to the developing container 22 through the toner receiving port 95.

Next, the toner container 100 will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 4 is a perspective view showing a container body of the toner container, FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the lid member of the toner container as viewed from below, and FIG. 6 is a longitudinal section of a conveying member attached to the toner container. FIG.

As shown in FIG. 3, the toner container 100 includes first and second stirring members 123 and 124, a conveying member 132, and a shutter member 125 in addition to the container main body 121 and the lid member 131 described above. The container main body 121 and the lid member 131 are molded with a synthetic resin.

The container main body 121 has an opening 121c opened upward, and the opening 121c is formed in a substantially rectangular shape (see FIG. 4). The left and right wall portions 121g and 121h are inclined and formed in the lateral direction below the inner side of the periphery of the opening 121c, and the front and rear wall portions are formed upright in the longitudinal direction. The The left and right wall portions 121g and 121h and the front and rear wall portions together with the bottom portion of the container main body 121 form a toner storage portion 121a that stores toner. These wall portions and bottom portions have substantially the same thickness. As described above, the toner accommodating portion 121a is formed in a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape by the wall portion and the bottom portion that surround the four sides of the opening portion 121c.

A flat surface is formed above the right wall 121h that forms the toner containing portion 121a, and a supply port 121b for supplying toner to the developing device 14 is formed on the flat surface (see also FIG. 4). The replenishing port 121b is disposed to face the toner receiving port 95 of the developing device 14.

A shutter member 125 is disposed between the supply port 121 b and the toner receiving port 95 of the developing device 14. The shutter member 125 is attached to the container body 121 so as to be slidable in the longitudinal direction below the supply port 121b so that the supply port 121b can be opened and closed. The shutter member 125 slides as the toner container 100 is attached to and detached from the developing device 14. That is, when the toner container 100 is not attached to the developing device 14, the shutter member 125 is in a position to close the replenishing port 121b, and when the toner container 100 is attached to the developing device 14, the shutter member 125 is moved to the replenishing port 121b. The toner in the toner container 100 can be supplied to the developing device 14 through the toner receiving port 95. When the toner container 100 is removed from the developing device 14, the shutter member 125 moves in the front and back direction of the paper surface of FIG. 3 so as to close the replenishing port 121b.

The first and second agitating members 123 and 124 are arranged side by side in the toner accommodating portion 121a, and have a paddle-like shape that extends from the rotating portion to one side in the radial direction and is developed in the longitudinal direction. With blades. The rotating portions of the first and second stirring members 123 and 124 are rotatably supported by the front and rear wall portions of the container main body 121. Further, the rotating portions of the first and second stirring members 123 and 124 are engaged with the connecting shaft 134 (see FIG. 2) by gears (not shown), respectively, and the first and second stirring members 123 and 124 are rotated by the rotation of the connecting shaft 134. Each paddle-shaped blade rotates. The toner in the toner container 121a is agitated by the rotation of each paddle-shaped blade. Furthermore, the paddle-shaped blades of the second stirring member 124 transport the stirred toner to the transport member 132 side.

An attachment surface 121 f is formed on the outer peripheral edge of the opening 121 c of the container main body 121. The attachment surface 121f is for fixing the lid member 131, and is a flat surface protruding in a flange shape along the outer peripheral edge of the opening 121c (see FIG. 4).

The lid member 131 is developed in a substantially rectangular shape (see FIG. 5) that is long in the longitudinal direction (the front and back direction in FIG. 3), and is formed with a flat plate portion 131a, a support portion 131b, and a fixing portion 131c. The flat plate portion 131a, the support portion 131b, and the fixing portion 131c are formed with substantially the same thickness.

The flat plate portion 131a faces the toner storage portion 121a of the container main body 121 and is formed in a substantially flat and rectangular shape.

The support portion 131b is formed so as to be connected to the flat plate portion 131a and protrudes upward from the flat plate portion 131a. Accordingly, the support portion 131b has a box shape that is open on the lower side and has a convex shape on the upper side, has a substantially trapezoidal cross-sectional wall portion in the lateral direction, and has a substantially rectangular cross section in the longitudinal direction (the front and back direction in FIG. 3) A shaped wall is formed. The support portion 131b accommodates the transport member 132 therein, and bearing holes for rotatably supporting the transport member 132 and the connecting shaft 133 (see FIG. 5) are formed on both longitudinal wall portions of the support portion 131b. ing.

As shown in FIG. 5, the conveying member 132 is formed of a synthetic resin integrally with a rotating shaft 132a and a spiral blade 132b that is a toner conveying portion. The rotating shaft 132a extends in the longitudinal direction, and the spiral blades 132b are formed in a spiral shape at a constant pitch in the axial direction. The conveying member 132 faces the supply port 121b (see FIG. 3) of the container body 121. When the conveying member 132 rotates, the conveying member 132 conveys the agitated toner toward the replenishing port 121b. A connecting shaft 133 is fixed to the transport member 132 on the support wall 131 g side of the support 131 b of the lid member 131.

As shown in FIG. 6, the connecting shaft 133 is integrally fitted in a shaft hole 132 d formed at one end of the rotating shaft 132 a of the transport member 132. Further, the connecting shaft 133 is rotatably fitted in a bearing hole 131e formed in a rib shape on the support wall portion 131g of the support portion 131b. A seal member 135 is interposed between the connecting shaft 133 and the support wall 131g to prevent the toner from leaking to the outside. On the other hand, the support shaft 132c formed at the other end of the rotating shaft 132a is rotatably fitted in a bearing hole 131d formed in a rib shape without penetrating the support wall portion 131f of the support portion 131b. In addition, a configuration may be adopted in which the rotating shaft 132a is rotatably fitted in the bearing hole 131e and is integrally fitted to the connecting shaft 133 outside the lid member 131.

As shown in FIG. 5, the fixing portion 131 c of the lid member 131 is formed as a flat surface that protrudes in a flange shape along the four-side outer periphery of the lid member 131, and is a mounting surface 121 f of the container body 121 (see FIG. 4). Face to face.

As shown in FIG. 3, in order to attach the lid member 131 to the container body 121, the first and second stirring members 123 and 124 and the stirring member connecting shaft 134 are attached to the container body 121, and the lid member 131 is transported to the lid member 131. The member 132 and the connecting shaft 133 are attached, and then the fixing portion 131c of the lid member 131 is brought into contact with the attachment surface 121f of the container body 121.

Usually, the flat plate-shaped cover member 131 that has been molded is warped in the flat plate portion 131a, and particularly warped in the longitudinal direction of the flat plate portion 131a, and may not be finished flat. The rotation shaft 132a attached to the lid member 131 suppresses the warpage of the lid member 131, and the flatness is maintained over the entire circumference of the fixing portion 131c. Accordingly, when the fixing portion 131c is brought into contact with the attachment surface 121f, the lid member 131 and the attachment surface 121f of the container main body 121 come into contact over the entire circumference. In this state, the contact surfaces are melted and fixed by ultrasonic welding. Instead of ultrasonic welding, the fixing portion 131c and the attachment surface 121f may be fixed using vibration welding, infrared laser welding, heat caulking, or the like.

The toner is filled from the filling port 121e (see FIG. 2) of the toner container 100 assembled as described above. When the toner filling is completed, the cap 126 is attached to the filling port 121e. Thus, the lid member 131 is attached to the container main body 121, and when the cap 126 is attached to the filling port 121e, the inside of the toner container 100 is sealed.

As shown in FIG. 2, when the toner container 100 is attached to the developing device 14, the connecting shaft 133 is engaged with a gear (not shown) on the developing device 14 side, and the stirring member connecting shaft 134 is connected to the developing device 14. Meshes with the side gear (not shown). At the time of image formation, the stirring member connecting shaft 134 rotates, and the toner contained in the toner container 100 is stirred by the rotation of the first and second stirring members 123 and 124. When it is detected that the amount of toner in the developing device 14 is equal to or less than a predetermined amount, the conveying member 132 starts to rotate, and the toner is replenished to the developing device 14 from the replenishing port 121b by the rotation of the conveying member 132.

According to the above embodiment, the toner container 100 is formed around the toner container 121a having the opening 121c on one side, the supply port 121b formed in the toner container 121a and supplying the toner to the outside, and the opening 121c. A container main body 121 having an attached mounting surface 121f, a flat lid member 131 fixed to the mounting surface 121f of the container main body 121, and a conveying member 132 for conveying the toner in the toner storage portion 121a to the replenishing port 121b. With. The conveying member 132 has a rotating shaft 132a and a spiral blade 132b formed on the outer peripheral surface of the rotating shaft, and the rotating shaft 132a is rotatably supported by the lid member 131.

According to this configuration, even if the lid member 131 is not warped and flatly finished when the lid member 131 is processed by plastic molding, for example, if the rotation shaft 132a of the transport member 132 is supported by the lid member 131, the rotation shaft 132a causes the lid member 131 to Warpage is suppressed, and the lid member 131 is securely fixed to the container body 121 when the lid member 131 is attached to the container body 121. Therefore, it is possible to obtain the toner container 100 in which the contained toner does not leak to the outside without reducing the yield and without performing the cost of performing the warp correction or the like.

Further, according to the above embodiment, the lid member 131 is formed of a resin material, and is fixed to the attachment surface 121f of the container main body 121 by welding, whereby the rotation shaft 132a of the transport member 132 supported by the lid member 131. Accordingly, the warping of the lid member 131 is suppressed, and the lid member 131 is securely fixed to the container body 121 when the lid member 131 is attached to the container body 121.

Further, according to the above-described embodiment, the lid member 131 has the flat plate portion 131a facing the toner storage portion 121a, and protrudes outward from the flat plate portion 131a to store the conveyance member 132 and the rotation shaft 132a of the conveyance member 132. The support part 131b which supports is formed. As a result, even if the flat plate portion 131a is not warped and flattened when the lid member 131 is molded, for example, if the rotation shaft 132a of the transport member 132 is supported on the support portion 131b of the lid member 131, the flat plate portion 131a is supported by the rotation shaft 132a. And the lid member 131 is securely fixed to the container body 121 when the lid member 131 is attached to the container body 121. In addition, since it is not necessary to reduce the volume of the toner container 121a, a large amount of toner can be stored in the toner container 100.

In the above-described embodiment, an example in which the present invention is applied to a monochrome copying machine has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and may be applied to a toner replenishing device for each color of a color copying machine or a color printer.

In the above-described embodiment, an example in which the developing device 14 is directly applied to the toner container 100 has been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and an intermediate hopper is provided between the toner container 100 and the developing device 14. It may be provided and applied to a toner container 100 for supplying toner to the intermediate hopper.

In the above-described embodiment, the configuration in which the toner container 100 is arranged in the horizontal direction is shown. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the toner container 100 has a toner container, a conveying member, and a supply port in a substantially vertical direction. You may make it the structure arrange | positioned. In this case as well, the same effects as in the above embodiment can be obtained.

Moreover, in the said embodiment, although the cover member 131 showed the structure formed by the flat part 131a and the support part 131b which protrudes outward and accommodates the conveyance member 132, this invention is not limited to this, A cover member Is formed with a flat plate portion up to a portion that accommodates the conveying member, the flat plate portion faces the toner accommodating portion, and a portion that accommodates the conveying member bends below the flat portion to form a support wall portion continuous on both sides. The support wall may be configured to rotatably support the rotation shaft of the transport member. In this case as well, the same effects as in the above embodiment can be obtained.

The present invention is used for a toner replenishing device that replenishes toner to a developing device provided in an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile, or a composite machine using an electrophotographic system, and an image forming apparatus including the same. be able to.
