Description
ディーゼルエンジンの排気通路に設けられる排気浄化装置において、
フィルタ担体が設けられる略円筒形状の排気通路であって、ディーゼルエンジンの排気から主に粒子状物質を除去する第一処理部(10)と、
還元触媒担体が設けられる略円筒形状の排気通路であって、前記第一処理部(10)を通過した排気から主に窒素酸化物を還元する第二処理部(20)と、
前記第一処理部(10)の周面に設けられた排気出口から第二処理部(20)の周面に設けられた排気入口へ排気を導く連通管(30)と、
前記窒素酸化物を還元するために還元剤を排気に供給する還元剤供給部(40)と、を備え、
前記第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)とは、それぞれの排気出口と排気入口とを互いに対向する側に有して、平行に設けられ、
前記還元剤供給部(40)は、連通管(30)に設けられ、
前記連通管(30)は、その上流側が第一処理部(10)の排気出口から第一処理部(10)の外周面に沿うように設けられて第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)との最も近接する間を通り、その下流側が第二処理部(20)の外周面に沿うようにして第二処理部(20)の排気入口まで設けられており、
前記連通管(30)は、第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)との間に位置する中途部に、排気流路断面が縮径される縮径部(30a)を有しているものである。
前記連通管(30)の縮径部(30a)においては、連通管(30)と第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)とが一体成形されているものである。
前記窒素酸化物を還元するために還元剤を排気に供給する補助還元剤供給部(41)をさらに備え、
前記還元剤供給部(40)は、連通管(30)の上流側に設けられ、
前記補助還元剤供給部(41)は、連通管(30)の下流側に設けられており、
ディーゼルエンジンの低出力運転時においては、連通管(30)の下流側に設けられてきる補助還元剤供給部(41)から還元剤を排気に供給するものである。
また、還元剤供給部により還元剤が供給された排気は、縮径部によって収縮された後に再び膨張することとなるために、還元剤の蒸発と混合を更に促進させることが可能となる。また、第一処理部と第二処理部との間に位置される縮径部は、排気から受けた熱の消散が少ないために比較的に高温を維持できて、還元剤の蒸発を促進させることが可能となる。

Claims (3)
- ディーゼルエンジンの排気通路に設けられる排気浄化装置において、
フィルタ担体が設けられる略円筒形状の排気通路であって、ディーゼルエンジンの排気から主に粒子状物質を除去する第一処理部(10)と、
還元触媒担体が設けられる略円筒形状の排気通路であって、前記第一処理部(10)を通過した排気から主に窒素酸化物を還元する第二処理部(20)と、
前記第一処理部(10)の周面に設けられた排気出口から第二処理部(20)の周面に設けられた排気入口へ排気を導く連通管(30)と、
前記窒素酸化物を還元するために還元剤を排気に供給する還元剤供給部(40)と、を備え、
前記第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)とは、それぞれの排気出口と排気入口とを互いに対向する側に有して、平行に設けられ、
前記還元剤供給部(40)は、連通管(30)に設けられ、
前記連通管(30)は、その上流側が第一処理部(10)の排気出口から第一処理部(10)の外周面に沿うように設けられて第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)との最も近接する間を通り、その下流側が第二処理部(20)の外周面に沿うようにして第二処理部(20)の排気入口まで設けられており、
前記連通管(30)は、第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)との間に位置する中途部に、排気流路断面が縮径される縮径部(30a)を有している
ことを特徴とする排気浄化装置。 - 前記連通管(30)の縮径部(30a)においては、連通管(30)と第一処理部(10)と第二処理部(20)とが一体成形されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の排気浄化装置。 - 前記窒素酸化物を還元するために還元剤を排気に供給する補助還元剤供給部(41)をさらに備え、
前記還元剤供給部(40)は、連通管(30)の上流側に設けられ、
前記補助還元剤供給部(41)は、連通管(30)の下流側に設けられており、
ディーゼルエンジンの低出力運転時においては、連通管(30)の下流側に設けられてきる補助還元剤供給部(41)から還元剤を排気に供給する
ことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載の排気浄化装置。
