Description
(a)該表面層に対する基体を与えることになる該金属物体を、溶媒を含有する陽極酸化性電解質に浸漬し、該金属を不動態化して、該金属物体上に陽極酸化された一体化表面層を形成する工程;
(b)電位を加え続けて、該一体化表面を貫通して該基体内部に至るピットを生成する工程;
(c)以下の(i)〜(iii)のいずれか:
(i)該陽極酸化性電解質との接触状態を維持しつつ、前記工程(aおよびb)中に陽極酸化された該金属物体に負の電圧を加えること、
(ii)前記工程(aおよびb)中に陽極酸化された該金属物体を、チタンまたは該基体金属の還元性で可溶性の塩を含有する電解質溶液と接触させ、かつ負の電圧を加えること、又は
(iii)該金属物体を、前記工程(aおよびb)の後に、化学的還元剤と接触させること、
によって含水金属酸化物を生成する工程、および
(d)前記工程(c)において得られた該陽極酸化された金属物体を、該陽極酸化性電解質液、該電解質溶液または化学的還元剤から取出し、またはこれらから分離し、かつ該陽極酸化された金属物体を、殺生物性物質を含む溶液と接触させて、該殺生物性物質を、該表面層内に組み込む工程。
殺生物性物質含有溶液と接触させる前に、該インプラントを濯いで、陽極酸化性電解質を除去することが好ましい。
他の金属基体または陽極酸化電解質を、リン酸、硫酸または酢酸の代わりに使用する例において、pHの変化や、更には温度等の要因により、負(即ち、逆)電圧の大きさを、所望の効果を与えるように、調節する必要があってもよい。
最初に該金属物体を研磨することにより、非常に滑らかな表面が得られる。チタン合金は、酢酸、または硝酸およびフッ化水素酸の混合物を使用して、電解研磨することができる。あるいはまた、該物質は、電解リニッシングと呼ぶこともできる、陽極酸化による不動態化と機械的な研磨との組合せにより処理してもよく、この方法は表面粗さを保護している酸化物を除去し、その点における表面は、次に電気化学的に再不動態化され、結果として鏡面平滑仕上げ状態を与える。この目的に対しては様々な電解質が適しており、該電解質は、硫酸と混合した硝酸、水酸化ナトリウム、リン酸ナトリウム、酢酸、または硝酸ナトリウムと混合した水酸化ナトリウムを包含する。グリットブラスティングまたはショットブラスティングあるいはショットピーニング(shot peening)等の技術を使用して、(例えば、殺生物性イオンの充填後、プラズマスプレイ法によって、引続きヒドロキシアパタイトを適用して、局所的な骨の接着を刺激するために)該表面を調製することもできる。また、粗い表面を与えるために、該表面を、チタンで噴霧塗布することもできる。
以下、本発明を、添付図面を参照し、また非−限定的な例としてのみ与えられる本発明の実施態様を参照して、更に詳しく説明する。

Claims (17)
- 金属物体上に、該金属物体と一体化した表面層であって殺生物性物質を含む表面層を生成するように、金属物体を処理するための方法であって、該方法が以下の工程(a)〜(d):
(a)該表面層の基体となる該金属物体を、溶媒を含む陽極酸化性電解質に浸漬し、正の電圧を印加することにより、該金属を不動態化して、該金属物体上に陽極酸化された一体化表面層を形成する工程;
(b)正の電圧の印加を継続して、該一体化表面を貫通し、かつ該基体内部に至るピットを生成する工程;
(c)含水金属酸化物または金属リン酸塩を、以下(i)〜(iii)のいずれか:
(i)前記工程(a)および(b)中に陽極酸化された該金属物体に、該陽極酸化性電解質との接触状態を維持しつつ、負の電圧を印加すること、
(ii)前記工程(a)および(b)中に陽極酸化された該金属物体を、チタンまたは該基体金属の還元性で可溶性の塩を含有する電解質溶液と接触させ、負の電圧を印加すること、又は
(iii)該金属物体を、前記工程(a)および(b)の後に化学的還元剤と接触させること、
によって生成する工程;
(d)前記工程(c)において得られた該陽極酸化された金属物体を、該陽極酸化性電解質、該電解質溶液または化学的還元剤から取り出し若しくは分離する工程、並びに
(e)該陽極酸化された金属物体を、殺生物性物質を含む溶液と接触させて、該殺生物性物質を該表面層内に組み込む工程、
を有する、金属物質の処理方法。 - 前記工程(b)において印加される前記電圧が、前記工程(a)の不動態化工程中に印加される電圧と異なる電圧であることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記工程(c)(ii)の電解質溶液が、元素周期律表のIVa族、Va族およびVIa属の金属のペルオキシカチオン性錯体を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)において負の電圧が印加され、且つ前記負電圧の大きさが、前記溶媒の電解を引起すには不十分であるが、前記ピット内の電気的活性種を還元するのに十分な値に維持または調節されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記殺生物性物質が、殺生物性金属を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜4の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記殺生物性金属が銀である、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記金属物体の金属が、チタン、ニオブ、タンタル、ジルコニウムおよび/またはこれらの合金を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜6の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記陽極酸化性電解質が、1.0〜3.0モルなる範囲内の濃度のリン酸であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜7の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)において負の電圧が印加され、且つ前記負電圧が、実質的に2.0モルなるリン酸濃度において、Ag/AgCl参照電極に対して、−0.2〜−0.7Vなる範囲内の大きさを持つことを特徴とする、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)において負の電圧が印加され、且つ、少なくとも、前記物体を流れる電流が、その初期値の20%以下の値に降下するまで、前記負電圧が前記金属物体に印加されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜9の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記殺生物性物質を含む溶液と接触する前に、電解質および可溶性カチオンを除去するために前記陽極酸化された金属物体が溶媒で処理されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜10の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記陽極酸化が、0.1〜25mA/cm2なる範囲内の電流密度で行われることを特徴とする、請求項1〜11の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記陽極酸化が、1秒当たり0.1〜10Vなる範囲内の速度で増加する電圧にて行われることを特徴とする、請求項1〜12の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記陽極酸化のために使用する電荷の量が、1〜10クーロン/cm2なる範囲内にあることを特徴とする、請求項1〜13の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 工程(a)における前記正の電圧が、15〜200Vなる範囲から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜14の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記陽極酸化が電解質の存在下で行われ、かつ、少なくとも工程(b)の前記ピットの成長段階中、前記金属物体の表面に対する該電解質の運動および循環が、抑制又は抑止されることを特徴とする、請求項1〜15の何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜16の何れか1項に記載の方法に従って製造される医療用インプラントまたは医療デバイスまたはジュエリー物品。
