Description
(1)(Pr 1-x Ce x ) 2 O 2 SO 4 及び/又は(Pr 1-x Ce x ) 2 O 2 Sからなり、式中、xが0.05〜0.25の数であることを特徴とする、酸素吸放出材。
(2)xが0.20であることを特徴とする、上記(1)に記載の酸素吸放出材。
(3)上記(1)又は(2)に記載の酸素吸放出材に金属を担持してなることを特徴とする、排ガス浄化用触媒。
(CeZr)O2 → (CeZr)O1.5+1/4O2 (1)
一方、リーン雰囲気、すなわち、排ガス中の酸素濃度が高いときには、逆の反応によって酸素が吸蔵される。このような可逆的な酸化還元反応によって排ガス中の空燃比A/Fの変動が吸収され、排ガスの浄化が促進される。これに対し、希土類オキシ硫酸塩(A2O2SO4、Aは希土類元素)を用いた酸素吸放出材では、以下の反応
A2O2SO4 → A2O2S+2O2 (2)
すなわち、希土類オキシ硫酸塩に含まれる硫黄元素の酸化還元反応を介して希土類オキシ硫酸塩が希土類オキシ硫化物に変化することにより酸素が放出され、その逆反応によって酸素が吸蔵される。
Pr2O2SO4 → Pr2O2S+2O2 (3)
で表されるプラセオジムのオキシ硫酸塩とオキシ硫化物との間の可逆反応が起こりやすくなると考えられる。
比較例として、プラセオジムのオキシ硫酸塩Pr2O2SO4からなる酸素吸放出材にPdを1wt%担持した排ガス浄化用触媒を調製した。まず、硝酸プラセオジム六水和物(Pr(NO3)3・6H2O)と、硫酸基部分の供給源としてのドデシル硫酸ナトリウム(SDS)と、アンモニアと、水とをそれぞれ1:2:30:60のモル比でフラスコに導入した。次いで、このフラスコを大気開放系において40℃の油浴中で撹拌器により回転速度350rpmで1時間撹拌した。その後、温度を60℃まで昇温して9時間撹拌した後、室温まで冷却した(pH=約11)。得られた沈殿物を遠心分離によって分離し、これを蒸留水で数回洗浄後、室温で減圧乾燥した。乾燥した試料を粉砕して粉末状にし、ドラフト中500℃以上の温度で5時間焼成してプラセオジムのオキシ硫酸塩Pr2O2SO4を得た。
原料である硝酸プラセオジム六水和物(Pr(NO3)3・6H2O)の一部を硝酸セリウム六水和物(Ce(NO3)3・6H2O)で置き換え、仕込み比でPr:Ce=0.8:0.2(モル比)となるようにしたこと以外は比較例1と同様にして、Pd/(Pr0.8Ce0.2)2O2SO4の排ガス浄化用触媒を得た。
Claims (3)
- (Pr 1-x Ce x ) 2 O 2 SO 4 及び/又は(Pr 1-x Ce x ) 2 O 2 Sからなり、式中、xが0.05〜0.25の数であることを特徴とする、酸素吸放出材。
- xが0.20であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の酸素吸放出材。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の酸素吸放出材に金属を担持してなることを特徴とする、排ガス浄化用触媒。
