供試材として純モリブデン(純度99.9%)であって、長さ100mm×幅50mm×厚さ1.5mmの2枚の平板を用い、図1に示すような方法で摩擦攪拌接合を行った。回転ツール5としては、3〜10質量%のReと1〜3質量%のZrと残部のIrからなるIr合金からなる物を用いた。回転ツール5の寸法は、ショルダ径(本体の直径)が15mmであり、プローブ6の長さが1.4mmであり、プローブ6の直径が6mmの物を用いた。プローブ6の側面は平坦面であり、特許文献1の図2に記載されているもののように螺子状の溝が設けられていない。裏当材4としては熱伝導率が30W/mK以下のセラミックスからなる物を用い、シールドガスとしてはArガスを用いた。
Claims (6)
- 融点が2000℃以上の2つの金属材を接合部において対向させ、前記接合部にIrを含む棒状の回転ツールを挿入し、少なくとも前記接合部における前記回転ツールを挿入する側を不活性雰囲気下としつつ前記回転ツールを回転させて前記2つの金属材を接合する金属材の接合方法。
- 前記回転ツールは、Re、Mo、W、Ta、Zr及びHfのいずれかをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の金属材の接合方法。
- 前記回転ツールは、0.9〜35.3質量%のReを含む物質及び0.9〜36.3質量%のReと0.05〜3質量%のZrとを含む物質のいずれかからなる、請求項1または2に記載の金属材の接合方法。
- 前記接合部における前記回転ツールを挿入する側の反対側を、熱伝導率が30W/mK以下の裏当材で覆いつつ前記金属材を接合する、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の金属材の接合方法。
- 前記回転ツールは先端に前記接合部に挿入される円柱状のプローブを有する、請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の金属材の接合方法。
- 前記回転ツールを1000rpm以下で回転させつつ前記金属材を接合する、請求項5に記載の金属材の接合方法。
