Description
この特許文献1には、支持部材(ホルダーケース)に除電針を取り付けて、除電針の電気接点を導電性弾性部材で転写ローラの軸方向に付勢する点が開示されており、この特許文献1に記載の転写装置(及び、画像形成装置)では、転写ローラの支持部材(ホルダーケース)を左右2本の押しバネにて付勢することで、転写ローラを中間転写ベルトに圧接して2次転写ニップを形成している(特許文献1の図1〜5参照)。このように装置本体に対して一部の構成が着脱可能な転写装置では、転写ローラを含む脱着ユニットのケースを押しバネで押圧して転写ニップを形成するのが一般的となっている。
それに加え、圧接する方向に沿って転写ローラの軸に対して垂直に引張り弾性材を設置する必要がないため、つまり、転写ローラの軸に対して垂直に長い部材等を設置する必要がないため、無駄な空間ができず、空間を有効活用することができ、装置全体を小型化することができる。
図3に示すように、2次転写ユニット47は、2次転写ローラ49が中間転写ベルト40と接離するよう、軸受け49a(49a’)をホルダーケース47aに対して相対的に摺動可能に構成されたスライド機構を有している。このスライド機構は、両端面47e(47e’)にそれぞれ1つづつ設けられた長穴47h(47h’)と、この長穴47h(47h’)を両側から把持する軸受け49a(49a’)とから構成され、この長穴47h(47h’)は、2次転写ローラ49の軸が貫通し、その軸を軸受け49a(49a’)を介して図中の矢印A方向、即ち、中間転写ベルト40と接離する方向に摺動可能に保持している。尚、図3及び4は、2次転写ローラ49、軸受け49a(49a’)、端面47e(47e’)との関係が分かり易いよう、この長穴47h(47h’)通る水平面、及び図の斜線部で示す部位でホルダーケース47aのみを切断した状態で表したものである。また、長穴47h(47h’)は、2次転写ニップ側に開先したスリット状としても良い。
このとき、1本の引張りバネ47iでアーム材47j(47j’)の一端である左右2つの内側アーム47m,47m’を互いに引っ張り合っているので、作用・反作用の法則により、結局、左右2つの外側アーム47n,47n’が2次転写ローラ49の両軸受け49a,49a’を駆動ローラ41側へ押圧する圧接力は均等なものとなる。
尚、引張りバネ47iが1本のコイルスプリングである場合で説明したが、複数の引張りバネを直列に接続した場合でも構わない、また、コイルスプリングに限らず、板バネや合成樹脂からなるゴム材などの弾性材であっても構わない、その場合でも同様の効果を奏することは明らかである。
図5、6に示すように、位置決め突起47f,47gは、断面略T字状の突起であり、それぞれ、背面側が平板面f1,g1となっており、この平板面f1,g1から2次転写ニップ(駆動ローラ41)と反対方向、即ち、背面側にコイルスプリングからなる押しバネSがボスに嵌着するなどして取り付けられている。そして、位置決め突起47f,47gの駆動ローラ41側が断面三角突起状の係合面f2,g2となっており、これら位置決め突起47f,47gと対応する駆動ローラ41を支持する支持部材4aの2次転写ニップ側の面が断面V字状の係合面4b,4cとなっているので、図示しない装置本体のカバーを閉めると押しバネSが圧縮されて、位置決め突起47f,47gが押しバネSの押圧力で係合面4b,4cに押圧されて、係合面4b,4cと位置決め突起47f,47gの係合面f2,g2とがそれぞれ係合し、2次転写ユニット47を装置本体へ装着した時の適正な位置決めがなされる。そのため、画像形成時において、脱着式の転写ユニット47が常に適正な位置に装着されるため、転写時の転写位置も正確となり、転写画像の画像品質が向上する。尚、図示しないもう一方の端面側も同様の構成となっている。
尚、図面で示した各構成部材の形状や構造等は、あくまでも好ましい一例を示すものであり、その実施に際しては特許請求の範囲に記載した範囲内で、任意に設計変更・修正ができるものである。

- 表面に画像を担持する像担持体と、該像担持体と転写ニップを形成する転写ローラと、該転写ローラの周囲を覆ってその両軸端を軸受けで回転可能に支持する略筐体状のケース部材とを備え、該ケース部材が装置本体から前記転写ローラごと着脱自在に構成されている転写装置において、
前記ケース部材は、前記転写ローラの両軸端の軸受けを転写ローラがケース部材に対して前記像担持体と接離する方向に摺動可能なスライド機構と、前記転写ローラを像担持体方向へ付勢する付勢手段とを有し、この付勢手段の付勢力を2等分して前記転写ローラの両軸端の軸受けに作用させることにより、前記スライド機構で前記転写ローラを前記像担持体に当接させる方向に摺動させて、前記転写ニップを形成し、
前記付勢手段は、1つの引張り弾性材又は直列に接続された複数の引張り弾性材と、この引張り弾性材の両端に接続された一対の回動押圧材とを有し、この回動押圧材は、一端が前記引張り弾性材と接続し、他端が前記転写ローラを前記像担持体に当接させる方向に直交する当接面を有するとともに該当接面が前記転写ローラの軸受けと当接し、その中間部が前記ケース部材に軸支されており、前記引張り弾性材で前記一対の回動押圧材の一端を互いに引っ張ることで回動押圧材を回動させて前記転写ローラの両軸端の軸受けを同時に前記張架ローラ側へ押圧することを特徴とする転写装置。 - 表面に潜像担持体から転写された画像を担持する中間転写体と、該中間転写体を支持する張架ローラと、該張架ローラの外周で前記中間転写体に圧接されて転写ニップを形成する転写ローラと、該転写ローラの周囲を覆ってその両軸端を軸受けで回転可能に支持する略筐体状のケース部材とを備え、該ケース部材が装置本体から前記転写ローラごと着脱自在に構成されている転写装置において、
前記ケース部材は、前記転写ローラの両軸端の軸受けを転写ローラがケース部材に対して前記中間転写体と接離する方向に摺動可能なスライド機構と、前記転写ローラを前記張架ローラ方向へ付勢する付勢手段とを有し、この付勢手段の付勢力を2等分して前記転写ローラの両軸端の軸受けに作用させることにより、前記スライド機構で前記転写ローラを前記中間転写体に当接させる方向に摺動させて、前記転写ニップを形成し、
前記付勢手段は、1つの引張り弾性材又は直列に接続された複数の引張り弾性材と、この引張り弾性材の両端に接続された一対の回動押圧材とを有し、この回動押圧材は、一端が前記引張り弾性材と接続し、他端が前記転写ローラを前記中間転写体に当接させる方向に直交する当接面を有するとともに該当接面が前記転写ローラの軸受けと当接し、その中間部が前記ケース部材に軸支されており、前記引張り弾性材で前記一対の回動押圧材の一端を互いに引っ張ることで回動押圧材を回動させて前記転写ローラの両軸端の軸受けを同時に前記張架ローラ側へ押圧することを特徴とする転写装置。 - 前記ケース部材は、前記転写ローラの軸方向が長手方向となっている略矩形板状の転写前ガイドを有し、該転写前ガイドは、前記転写ニップに記録材を案内するよう搬送路に対して傾斜配置されている請求項1又は2に記載の転写装置。
- 前記引張り弾性材は、前記ケース部材の内部であって前記転写ローラと前記転写前ガイドの間に前記転写ローラの軸と略平行に配置されている請求項3に記載の転写装置。
- 前記スライド機構は、前記ケース部材の両端面に設けられ、前記転写ローラの軸を摺動可能に保持する長穴と、該長穴を両側から把持する前記転写ローラの軸受けとから構成されている請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載の転写装置
- 前記ケース部材には、前記転写ニップの記録材搬送方向下流側に転写後の記録材の電荷を除電する除電部材が前記転写ローラの軸方向に沿って設けられている請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載の転写装置。
- 前記ケース部材は、該ケース部材の両端面から外部に突出して設けられた位置決め突起と、該位置決め突起の前記中間転写体と反対方向に取り付けられた押しバネとを有し、装置本体装着時に前記張架ローラを支持する支持部材と前記位置決め突起が前記押しバネに押圧されて当接することにより前記ケース部材の装着位置が決まる請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載の転写装置。
- 請求項1ないし7のいずれかに記載の転写装置を備えた画像形成装置。
