Description
糸)106は主滴105より小さな粒径を有するサテライトを形成する。以下、このような吐出形状をA型の吐出形状と呼ぶこととする。
本発明の実施例1−1〜1−5に係る吐出口の構成(アスペクト比、We数、スリットの寸法)およびインク物性を表1に示す。
本発明の実施例2−1,2−2に係る吐出口の構成(アスペクト比、We数、スリットの寸法)およびインク物性を表2に示す。また、比較例1〜3に係る吐出口の構成(アスペクト比、We数、スリットの寸法)およびインク物性を表3に示す。
実施例3では、サテライトの無い吐出を達成した実施例1−1の吐出口(アスペクト比15)を2つ並べて配置した。なお、それらの2つの吐出口は1つのインク流路に連通している。
図10(a)は本発明の実施例4における吐出口を示す平面図である。図10(a)に示すように、本実施例における吐出口はS字形のスリット状の形状を有している。実施例4に係る吐出口の構成(アスペクト比、We数、スリットの寸法)およびインク物性を表5に示す。

Claims (2)
- 吐出エネルギー発生手段が配置されたインク流路内に充填された液体に、前記吐出エネルギー発生手段によって発生させた吐出エネルギーを与え、前記インク流路に連通した吐出口から前記液体を吐出するインクジェット吐出方法において、
前記吐出口の長軸方向の長さをLとし、前記吐出口の短軸方向の幅をDとしたときに、L≧15Dの関係を満たすスリット状に形成された前記吐出口を用いて、
前記吐出口の短軸方向の幅Dを2.5μm以下とし、
前記液体の表面張力をγ、前記液体の密度をρ、前記吐出口から吐出される前記液体の吐出方向への速度をVとしたときにWe=ρDV 2 /γと定義されるウェーバー数を10以下として、
前記吐出エネルギー発生手段を駆動した後、前記吐出口から吐出された前記液体の先頭部分と前記吐出口内の前記液体とが少なくとも2本の液糸によって繋がれ、
前記液体の先頭部分と前記吐出口内の前記液体とが、前記少なくとも2本の液糸が切れることで互いに分離することを特徴とするインクジェット吐出方法。 - 1つの前記吐出口から1回の吐出動作で吐出される液体の体積を2pl以下にする、請求項1に記載のインクジェット吐出方法。
