Description
ガラス基板からなる第3の透明基板30(TFT基板)上に設けられた複数の画素のそれぞれにスイッチング用の薄膜トランジスタ31(以下、TFTと称する)が形成されている。TFT31は層間絶縁膜32によって被覆されており、層間絶縁膜32上には各TFT31に対応してアルミニウム(Al)のような反射材料からなる反射画素電極33が形成されている。反射画素電極33は対応するTFT31のドレイン又はソースに、層間絶縁膜32に形成されたコンタクトホールCHを通して接続されている。

Claims (5)
- 反射液晶表示部上に配置された照明部を備え、
前記照明部は、前記反射液晶表示部にその裏面が接合された第1の基板と、シール層を介して接合された第2の基板と、前記第2の基板の表面に配置され、所定のパターンを有する陰極層と、この陰極層を覆って形成された有機層と、この有機層を介して形成された半透明材料または透明材料からなる陽極層とを有する有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子とを備え、
前記反射液晶表示部は、複数の画素を有し、前記有機エレクトロルミネッセンス素子から発生された光を受ける反射画素電極が各画素の中に形成された第3の基板と、前記第3の基板上に配置され、その表面に共通電極が形成された第4の基板と、前記第3の基板と第4の基板との間に封入された液晶層と、を備え、
前記第2の基板上に透明電極層を形成し、この透明電極層上に前記所定のパターンを有する陰極層を有することを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記透明電極層と前記有機層との間に絶縁体層が配置され、かつ前記絶縁体層が配置されていない箇所において前記透明電極層と前記陰極層との電気的接触がなされることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1の基板と前記第4の基板とが兼用されて1つの基板で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1の基板の表面に前記第2の基板の表面と向き合うように配置された乾燥剤層を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記第1及び第2の基板との間に前記第2の基板の屈折率と概ね等しい屈折率を有する樹脂もしくは乾燥剤が充填されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
