Description
イオンビーム照射システムは回転照射治療装置である回転ガントリーを備えている。回転ガントリーは、例えば特許文献1に示されているように、フロントリング,リアリング及びこれらを接続するガントリー胴部を有する。イオンビームを導くビーム輸送装置(ビーム経路)及び照射装置(照射ノズル)がガントリー胴部に取り付けられる。
図2は図1のA−A線断面である。
図3は回転照射装置内のビーム輸送系とビーム照射装置の構成図である。
図4は回転照射装置の回転部が図1の位置から回転軸を中心として180°回転したときの側面図である。
図5は図4のA−A線断面図である。
なお、図4および図5には回転体支持装置16に含まれるローラ12のみを図示している。
図7は図6のA−A断面からリア側(図6の左側)を見た図である。
図9は図8のA−A断面からリア側(図8の左側)を見た図である。
図8と図9に示す回転照射装置は、図1と図2に示した構成と同様に、中間リング5と中間リング接続部材6aによってビーム輸送装置10と真空ダクト11の一部がガントリー胴部2に固定されている。ただし、図1と図2に示した構成とは異なり、偏向マグネット9,ビーム輸送装置10および照射装置8の質量が発生するガントリー回転軸周りのモーメントを打ち消すためのカウンタバランスウェイト13を備えている。この部材では、中間リング接続部材6cの質量を調節して、中間リング接続部材6cがカウンタバランスウェイト13の役割を一部担うようにしても良いし、中間リング接続部材6cは中間リング5をガントリー胴部に固定する役割のみを担う部材(質量)としても良い。中間リング接続部材6cがカウンタバランスウェイト13の役割を一部担うことによって、カウンタバランスウェイト13の質量を軽くできるので、カウンタバランスウェイト13の取り付け,調整などが容易になる。
図10に示す回転照射装置は、図1〜図3に示した第1の部材例の中間リング5を2個に増やした部材例である。この部材例では、回転ガントリー1の自重を軸方向の4点で支えるので、回転ガントリー1のたわみ変形が第1の部材例よりも小さくなる。また、回転ガントリー1の自重を軸方向の異なる4箇所(図中のローラ12の設置箇所)で支えるので、1個の回転体支持装置が支える荷重が第1の部材例に比べて小さくなり、結果として回転体支持装置を小型化,簡素化できる。この部材例では中間リング接続部材6cが回転軸周りのモーメントを打ち消すためのカウンタバランスウェイトの役割を担っているが、第2の部材例のように中間リング5にカウンタバランスウェイトの役割の一部を持たせても良いし、第3の部材例のように中間リング接続部材6cとは別に図8と図9に示したようなカウンタバランスウェイト13を配置しても良い。
図11に示す回転照射装置は、第1から第4の部材例とは異なり、ガントリー胴部が略円筒形状でないものである。すなわち、本部材例ではフロントリング3とリアリング4を連結鋼管14で接続してガントリー胴部を構成している。このようなガントリー胴部は図1に示した略円筒形状のガントリー胴部2に比べて剛性は低いが、回転ガントリーの全質量を軽くできる。また、中間リング5は中間リング接続部材6a,6bおよび6cによってガントリー胴部(フロントリング3,リアリング4および連結鋼管14)と固定されている。第1から第3の部材例と同様に、中間リング5と中間リング接続部材6aはビーム輸送装置10と真空ダクト11の一部をガントリー胴部に固定する役割を中間リング接続部材6cはカウンタバランスウェイトの役割を担っている。
図13は回転照射装置内のビーム輸送系とビーム照射装置の構成図である。
図13のビーム輸送系では、荷電粒子の軌道である真空ダクト11が回転軸と平行に配置されていない。このようなビーム輸送系の構成は、陽子線照射装置でよく採用されている。図13のようなビーム輸送系に、第1の部材例を適用した回転照射装置が図12である。このような部材を陽子線治療装置に適用した場合、他の部材例と同様に回転ガントリー1のたわみ変形が小さくできるので、照射精度の高い陽子線治療装置の回転ガントリーを実現できる。
図14は、本発明の第2の実施例による回転照射装置の第1の部材例を示す側面図である。
図15は、図14のA−A断面からリア側(図14の左側)を見た図である。
Claims (5)
- 荷電粒子ビームの照射装置と、この照射装置に荷電粒子ビームを導くビーム輸送装置と、このビーム輸送装置と前記照射装置とが取り付けられた回転体と、この回転体に含まれた環状部材と接触して前記回転体を支持する回転自在なローラを有する回転体支持装置を備えた回転照射治療装置において、
前記回転体の軸方向の一端部で前記回転体支持装置のローラと接触する第1の環状部材と、前記回転体の軸方向の他端部で前記回転体支持装置のローラと接触する第2の環状部材と、前記第1と第2の環状部材の間で前記回転体の軸方向の異なる位置に少なくとも1個の前記回転体支持装置のローラと接触する中間環状部材を備えたことを特徴とする回転照射治療装置。 - 請求項1記載の回転照射治療装置において、
前記中間環状部材は前記回転体に含まれた中間環状部材接続部材によって前記回転体に固定され、この回転体を回転軸周りに回転させるモーメントの少なくとも一部を打ち消すように前記中間環状部材あるいは前記中間環状部材接続部材の質量を前記回転体の周方向に変化させたことを特徴とする回転照射治療装置。 - 請求項1記載の回転照射治療装置において、
前記中間環状部材は前記回転体に含まれた中間環状部材接続部材によって前記回転体に固定され、前記中間環状部材あるいは前記環状部材接続部材が荷電粒子ビームの輸送装置の少なくとも1部を前記回転体に固定する役割を担うことを特徴とする回転照射治療装置。 - 請求項3記載の回転照射治療装置において、
前記回転体を回転軸周りに回転させるモーメントの少なくとも一部を打ち消すように前記中間環状部材あるいは前記中間環状部材接続部材の質量を前記回転体の周方向に変化させたことを特徴とする回転照射治療装置。 - 請求項1記載の回転照射治療装置において、
第1の環状部材と第2端部環状部材とに接触する回転自在なローラを含む回転体端部支持装置のうち、少なくとも一方が前記回転体の回転軸方向に移動可能であり、かつ中間環状部材と接触する回転自在なローラを含む回転体中間支持装置も前記回転体の回転軸方向に移動可能であることを特徴とする回転照射治療装置。
