【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、安全性、安定性、相溶性、顔料分散性、感触等に優れたダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステル、該エステルを含有する油剤、及び、該エステルに加え酸化防止剤を含有する油剤、並びに、これらのエステル又は油剤を含有する化粧料及び外用剤に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来から種々のエステルが油剤として化粧料、外用剤に用いられている。例えば、イソオクチル酸セチル、イソノナン酸イソデシル、パルミチン酸イソプロピル、ミリスチン酸オクチルドデシル、ステアリン酸オクチル、イソステアリン酸イソステアリル、イソオクチル酸グリセリル、イソステアリン酸グリセリル、オレイン酸オクチルドデシル、リノール酸エチル、ケイ皮酸エチル、サリチル酸オクチル、パラオキシ安息香酸プロピル、フタル酸ジオクチル、リンゴ酸ジイソステアリル等が用いられている。また、シリコーン系のエステル油剤としては、シリコーンの特性を有しつつもべたつかず、相溶性が良い上に、高粘度化できるシリコーン系油剤として、特定のカルボキシル変性シリコーンと一価アルコールとのエステルが提案されている(特開平4−36211号公報)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、これらのエステル類は、化粧料、外用剤用の油剤又は化粧料、外用剤の成分として、安全性、安定性、顔料分散性、感触等の点で必ずしも十分満足できるものではなかった。また、カルボキシル変性シリコーンと一価アルコールとのエステルも、カルボキシル変性シリコーンを単純な1価のアルコールでエステル化したものであるため、油剤の極性や粘度調節が必ずしも自由ではなく、また、顔料分散性、感触等の点でも必ずしも十分満足できるものではなかった。したがって、更に安全性、安定性、顔料分散性、感触、臭い等に優れる化粧料、外用剤用の油剤が望まれていた。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明者らは前記課題を解決すべく鋭意検討を行った結果、ダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステル、該エステルを含有する油剤、及び、該エステルに加え酸化防止剤を含有する油剤が、化粧料及び外用剤の含有成分として安全性、安定性、顔料分散性、相溶性、使用感等に優れていることを見出し、本発明を完成した。

即ち、本発明は、ダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステル、該エステルを含有する油剤、及び、該エステルに加え酸化防止剤を含有する油剤、並びに、これらを含有する化粧料及び外用剤を提供するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明のダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルの製造に用いられるダイマージオールは、既知の物質であり、下記のように工業的に得られるダイマー酸及び/又はそのエステルの還元により製造することができる。即ち、ダイマー酸は不飽和脂肪酸の分子間重合反応によって得られる既知の二塩基酸であり、その工業的製造プロセスは業界でほぼ標準化されており、例えば、ダイマー酸及び/又はその低級アルコールエステルは、炭素数が11〜22の不飽和脂肪酸又はその低級アルコールエステルを粘土触媒等にて2量化して得られる。工業的に得られるダイマー酸は、炭素数36程度の2塩基酸が主成分であるが、精製の度合いに応じ任意量のトリマー酸、モノマー酸を含有する。一般にダイマー酸の含有量は70重量%を越える程度のもの、及び、分子蒸留によってダイマー酸含有量を90%以上にまで高めたものが流通している。また、ダイマー化反応後には二重結合が残存するが、更に水素化を行って酸化安定性を向上させたものも販売されている。ダイマージオールは、これらのダイマー酸及び/又はその低級アルコールエステルを更に水素添加/還元したものである。工業的に得られるダイマージオールは、原料として用いるダイマー酸及び/又はその低級アルコールエステルの精製の度合いに応じ、他の成分、例えばトリマートリオール、モノマーアルコール及びエーテル化合物を含有する。一般にダイマージオール成分の含有量が約70重量%を越えるものであれば、本発明に用いることができるが、高純度ダイマージオール、例えばダイマージオール成分の含有量が90重量%を越えるものがより好ましい。ダイマージオールに含有される主なジオール成分としては、特に下記構造式(2)及び/又は構造式(3)で示される化合物を挙げることができる。

本発明のダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルの製造に用いられるもう一方の原料であるカルボキシル変性シリコーンは、分子内にカルボン酸基を有するシリコーン類を示し、好ましくは、一般式(1)の構造を有するものである。

(式中、R1、R2、及び、R3は独立に、メチル基、又は、基−R4−COOH(R4は、炭素数2〜10の2価の炭化水素基、若しくは、1個又は2個以上のエーテル酸素で中断されている総炭素数4〜20の2価の含酸素炭化水素基を示す)を示し、mは1〜20の整数、nは1〜200の整数を示す。ただし、R1、R2、及び、R3の全てが同時にメチル基となることはない)

一般式(1)で表されるカルボキシル変性シリコーンにおいて、R1、R2、及び、R3は独立に、メチル基、又は、基−R4−COOH(R4は、炭素数2〜10の2価の炭化水素基、若しくは、1個又は2個以上のエーテル酸素で中断されている総炭素数4〜20の2価の含酸素炭化水素基を示す)を示すが、R1、R2、及び、R3の全てが同時にメチル基となることははなく、分子中に少なくても1つの基−R4−COOHを含み、より好ましくは2つ以上、更に好ましくは2つの基−R4−COOHを分子中に含む。また、mは1〜20の整数、nは1〜200の整数を示す。上記基−R4−COOH中のR4は、炭素数2〜10の2価の炭化水素基、若しくは、1個又は2個以上のエーテル酸素で中断されている総炭素数4〜20の2価の含酸素炭化水素基を示すが、炭素数2〜10の2価の炭化水素基としては、ジメチレン基、1、2−メチルエチレン基、ペンタメチレン基、デカメチレン基等が挙げられ、1個又は2個以上のエーテル酸素で中断されている総炭素数4〜20の2価の含酸素炭化水素基としては、トリメチレンオキシメチル基、2−(トリメチレンオキシ)エチルオキシメチル基、2−(2−(トリメチレンオキシ)エチルオキシ)エチルオキシメチル基、3−(トリメチレンオキシ)プロピル基、4−(トリメチレンオキシ)ブチル基、5−(トリメチレンオキシ)ペンチル基、10−(トリメチレンオキシ)デシル基等が挙げられる。これらのうち、原料の入手性等の点から、ジメチレン基、1、2−メチルエチレン基、トリメチレンオキシメチル基等が好ましい。このような構造を有するカルボキシル変性シリコーンは、一般に市販されており、例えば、信越化学工業社製X−22−162C、X−22−3701E、X−22−3710等、及び、GE東芝シリコーン社製TSF4770等として、容易に入手可能である。なお、本発明にいては、生成するダイマージオールエステルの好ましい物性、及び、エステル化反応の反応性・反応制御等の点から、上記一般式(1)で表されるカルボキシル変性シリコーンにおいて、R3がメチル基であり、R1及びR2が基−R4−COOH(R4は前記した意味を示す)であるものが、より好ましい。

本発明のダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルの製造方法は、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、ダイマージオールを、カルボキシル変性シリコーン、又は、その低級アルコールエステルにより、エステル化又はエステル交換することにより製造できる。低級アルコールエステルを用いる場合には、好ましくはメチル、エチル、プロピル、イソプロピル、ブチル等の低級アルコールのエステルを用いる。エステル化反応の条件は、特に限定されず、通常用いられる方法で行われる。例えば、触媒としてパラトルエンスルホン酸、硫酸、塩酸、メタンスルホン酸、三フッ化硼素ジエチルエーテル錯体、フッ化水素等を用い、溶媒としてヘプタン、ヘキサン、シクロヘキサン、トルエン、キシレン等を用いて、50〜260℃で行うことができる。或いは無溶剤、無触媒でも100〜260℃でエステル化を行うことができる。又、エステル交換反応では、炭酸カリウム、水酸化ナトリウム、水酸化カリウム等のアルカリ触媒、ナトリウムメトキシド、ナトリウムエトキシド、カリウムブトキシド等の金属アルコキシド等を触媒として用い、無溶媒又はヘプタン、ヘキサン、シクロヘキサン、トルエン、キシレン等を溶媒として用いて、50〜260℃で行うことができる。

本発明のダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルの製造に際しては、ダイマージオールとカルボキシル変性シリコーン、又は、その低級アルコールエステル等のカルボキシル変性シリコーン誘導体との仕込み比を変えることにより、得られるエステルの平均エステル化度や平均分子量を調整することができる。好ましいダイマージオールとカルボキシル変性シリコーン誘導体の仕込み比の範囲としては、ダイマージオールの水酸基価より算出される平均分子量の1モルに対し、カルボキシル変性シリコーン誘導体0.1〜1.5モルが好ましいが、さらに好ましくは0.3〜1.0モルの範囲である。得られるダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルは、その目的により、種々の平均エステル化度や平均分子量とすることができるが、好ましい平均分子量範囲としては、約1,500〜500,000程度、より好ましくは約2,000〜100,000程度の範囲である。また、このダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルは、更にカルボキシル変性シリコーン以外のモノカルボン酸、ジカルボン酸、若しくは、ダイマージオール以外のモノオール、ジオール、トリオール等の残基を分子内に合わせて持つ混合エステルであっても良い。このようにして得られたダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルは、そのまま本発明の油剤として使用することもできるが、さらに必要に応じて中和、水洗、水蒸気脱臭、吸着剤処理等の通常の後処理、精製を行って使用しても良い。

本発明の油剤は、上記の様にして得られるダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルを含有するものである。これらダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステルは、酸化安定性に優れたものであるため、このまま本発明の油剤に用いることができるが、酸化防止剤を添加することによって更に油剤の酸化安定性を向上させることができる。酸化防止剤としては通常油剤に添加される物を使用することができるが、特にビタミンE類の使用が望ましい。ビタミンE類としては、d−α−トコフェロール、d−δ−トコフェロール、d,l−α−トコフェロール、酢酸d−α−トコフェロール、酢酸d,l−α−トコフェロール、大豆や菜種より分離精製されたトコフェロ−ル混合物等を使用することができる。酸化防止剤の添加量に特に制限はないが、10ppm〜10000ppm程度が適当である。

ダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステル、該エステルを含有する油剤、及び、該エステルに加え酸化防止剤を含有する油剤は、感触、酸化安定性、相溶性、顔料分散性、臭い、安全性等に優れることから、好ましく化粧料及び外用剤に用いることができる。ダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステル、該エステルを含有する油剤、並びに、該エステルに加え酸化防止剤を含有する油剤の化粧料及び外用剤への配合量は、特に限定されないが、0.1〜60重量%程度が好ましく、より好ましくは0.5〜40重量%である。また、本発明化粧料には必要に応じて水及び通常化粧料に配合される添加成分、例えば油脂類、乳化剤、アルコール類、保湿剤、増粘剤、酸化防止剤、防腐剤、殺菌剤、キレート剤、pH調整剤、紫外線吸収剤、美白剤、溶剤、角質剥離・溶解剤、鎮痒剤、消炎剤、制汗剤、清涼剤、還元剤、抗ヒスタミン剤、収れん剤、刺激剤、育毛用薬剤、高分子粉体、ヒドロキシ酸、ビタミン類及びその誘導体類、糖類及びその誘導体類、有機酸類、酵素類、核酸類、ホルモン類、粘土鉱物類、香料、色素等を配合することができる。

攪拌機、温度計、ガス導入管を備えた1Lの反応器に、ダイマージオール(ユニケマ社製、プリポール2033)75.0g(0.136モル)及びカルボキシル変性シリコーン311.2g(信越化学工業社製、X−22−162C、0.068モル)を仕込み、窒素気流下で8〜9kPaに減圧し、生成する水を留去しながら220〜235℃で8時間加熱することでエステル化反応を行った。次いで、110℃、8〜9kPaで減圧スチーム脱臭を行うことにより、目的物であるダイマージオールカルボキシル変性シリコーンエステル359.1gを無色高粘度油状物として得た(収率94%)。得られたエステルの性状値は酸価1.5、水酸基価5.1、けん化価33.0であった。また、得られたエステルのGPC(ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー)測定による数平均分子量は22,000、60℃での粘度は3,975mPa・sであった。

実施例4 相溶性
実施例1〜2で得られた本発明の油剤の各種油剤との相溶性を試験した。油剤として、ジメチルポリシロキサン10cs(信越化学工業社製KF−96−10cs、略称DMS10cs)、流動パラフィン(松村石油研究所製、モレスコホワイトP−70、略称LP)、トリ2−エチルヘキサン酸グリセリル(エステル油、日本精化社製IOTG、略称IOTG)を用い、本発明の油剤が25℃で10重量%溶解する場合、相溶性有りと判定した。また、比較対照として、ジメチルポリシロキサン100cs(信越化学工業社製KF−96−100cs)の相溶性も合わせて試験した。その結果、比較対照のジメチルポリシロキサン100csは、流動パラフィン、トリ2−エチルヘキサン酸グリセリル(エステル油)と相溶しないのに対して、本発明の油剤は試験を行った何れの油剤とも相溶し、優れた相溶性を示すことがわかった。
