この摩耗回転切削試験の結果を、下記の表18に示す。
(a)炭化タングステン、鉄族の少なくとも1種の金属又はこれらの合金を含有するバインダー金属粉末並びにジルコニウム及びニオブの両方の炭化物及び炭窒化物の少なくとも1種を含有する粉末混合物を提供する工程、
(b)該粉末混合物のグリーンコンパクトを形成する工程、
(c)該グリーンコンパクトを1400〜1560℃の温度で真空焼結又は焼結−HIPする工程
を含み、工程(a)に於いては、ジルコニウム及びニオブの炭化物又は炭窒化物の粉末化固溶体が、該粉末混合物を形成するために用いられる。本発明の焼結超硬合金体は、塑性変形に対する増加した耐性を有し、該焼結超硬合金体から製造された切削工具の改良された耐摩耗性及び延長された寿命をもたらす。更にまた、従来技術の焼結超硬合金体と比較して、気孔率及び焼結歪みの顕著な最小化が、本発明によって得られる。

Claims (13)
- 炭化タングステン、鉄族の少なくとも1種の金属又はこれらの合金を含有するバインダー相並びに、ジルコニウム、ニオブ及びタングステンの組合せの炭化物及び炭窒化物の少なくとも1種を含む1種の固溶体相を含有する、塑性変形に対する増加した耐性を有する焼結超硬合金体であって、前記焼結超硬合金体が、質量比Nb/(Zr+Nb)が少なくとも0.5であり、前記固溶体相が、前記焼結超硬合金体の単一の固溶体相であって、前記固溶体相が、
(i)ジルコニウム、ニオブ及びタングステンの組合せの炭化物又は炭窒化物からなる、又は、
(ii)ジルコニウム、ニオブ及びタングステンの組合せの炭化物又は炭窒化物並びにチタン、ハフニウム、バナジウム、タンタル、クロム及びモリブデンの1種又は2種以上の、炭化物、窒化物又は炭窒化物からなる焼結超硬合金体の製造方法であって、
(a)炭化タングステン、鉄族の少なくとも1種の金属又はこれらの合金を含有するバインダー金属粉末並びにジルコニウム及びニオブの両方の炭化物及び炭窒化物の少なくとも1種を含有する粉末混合物を提供する工程、
(b)前記粉末混合物のグリーンコンパクトを形成する工程、
(c)前記グリーンコンパクトを1400〜1560℃の温度で真空焼結又は焼結−HIPする工程、を含み、
工程(a)に於いて、ジルコニウム及びニオブの組合せの炭化物又は炭窒化物の粉末化固溶体を使用して、前記粉末混合物を形成し、
前記ジルコニウム及びニオブの質量比Nb/(Zr+Nb)が少なくとも0.5である、前記方法。 - 0.6以上の質量比Nb/(Zr+Nb)を有し、ジルコニウム及びニオブの組合せの炭化物又は炭窒化物の粉末化固溶体を使用する、請求項1記載の方法。
- コバルト、粉末化CoNi−合金又は粉末化CoNiFe−合金を、前記バインダー金属粉末として使用する、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記バインダー金属粉末が、さらに、クロム及びタングステンの少なくとも1種を含む、請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記バインダー金属粉末を、前記粉末混合物の全重量の3〜15%含む、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記粉末混合物が、さらに、チタン、ハフニウム、バナジウム、タンタル、クロム及びモリブデンの1種又は2種以上の、炭化物、窒化物又は炭窒化物の少なくとも1種を含む、請求項1から請求項5のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- ジルコニウム及びニオブの組合せの炭化物又は炭窒化物の前記粉末化固溶体を、前記粉末混合物の全重量の1〜15%含む、請求項1から請求項6のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 前記粉末混合物が、元素、チタン、ハフニウム、バナジウム、タンタル、クロム及びモリブデンの少なくとも1種を、前記粉末混合物の全重量の1〜8%の量で含む、請求項1から請求項7のいずれか1項記載の方法。
- 切削工具の製造のための、請求項1から請求項8のいずれか1項記載の方法により得た焼結超硬合金体の使用。
- 切削インサートの製造のための、請求項9記載の使用。
- 前記焼結超硬合金体が、いかなる固溶体相も含まないが、未被覆表面から50μmの深さまでバインダー富化した最外帯域を含む、請求項9又は請求項10に記載の使用。
- 前記焼結超硬合金体が、前記バインダー富化帯域の下に、前記バインダー富化帯域を除いて、前記焼結超硬合金体を通して均一である、1種の単一固溶体相を有する、請求項9から請求項11のいずれか1項記載の使用。
- 前記切削工具が、更に、前記焼結超硬合金体上に耐摩耗性被覆を含む、請求項9から請求項12のいずれか1項記載の使用。
