Description
シンテック社製液晶表示器設計シミュレータ「LCD Master」を用い、ねじれネマチック配向構造となるように固定化された液晶分子を含有する層(以下、場合により「ねじれネマチック液晶フィルム」という)の光学的リターデーションと光学的ねじれ角とを変化させた場合における潜像の光の波長の変化(色の変化)を検討した。具体的には、反射面(鏡面)の上にねじれネマチック液晶フィルム、吸収型偏光板を順次設置し、偏光板上方より非偏光光源(D65光源を仮定)を照射した際に得られる反射スペクトルを計算し、CIE x−y座標上にプロットした。液晶材料にはメルク社製ZLI−2293の物性データを元に、複屈折波長分散値(波長450nmと波長590nmにおける複屈折率Δnの比(Δn(450)/Δn(590))が1.13となるように調整したデータを用いた。また、偏光板としては住友化学社製EG1425DUを用いた。
反射層としては、アルミホイル(住軽アルミ箔株式会社製、製品名「マイホイル」)を用い、偏光変換回転層としては、ねじれネマチック液晶フィルム(新日本石油株式会社製、「日石LCフィルム」シリーズ、波長590nmでの光学的リターデーション:500nm、光学的ねじれ角:240°)を用いて、アルミホイル上にねじれネマチック液晶フィルムが積層された本発明の潜像形成フィルムを作製した。
反射層として、アルミホイルに代えて市販の装飾用ホログラムフィルムを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして本発明の潜像形成フィルムを作製した。
Claims (8)
- 反射層と、前記反射層の表面に配置され、入射偏光の楕円率を変化させると同時に入射偏光の方位を回転させる偏光変換回転層とを備えることを特徴とする潜像形成フィルム。
- 前記偏光変換回転層が、ねじれネマチック配向構造となるように固定化された液晶分子を含有する層であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の潜像形成フィルム。
- 前記偏光変換回転層が、70℃以上のガラス転移点を有する高分子液晶を液晶状態においてねじれネマチック配向させた後に固定化させて得られた層であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の潜像形成フィルム。
- 前記ねじれネマチック配向構造における螺旋構造の螺旋ピッチが2μm以上であり、且つ前記螺旋構造のピッチ数が2未満であることを特徴とする請求項2又は3に記載の潜像形成フィルム。
- 前記偏光変換回転層の光学的ねじれ角が85〜275°の範囲であり、且つ光学的リターデーションが450〜700nmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のうちのいずれか一項に記載の潜像形成フィルム。
- 前記偏光変換回転層の光学的ねじれ角が265〜365°の範囲であり、且つ光学的リターデーションが750〜1100nmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のうちのいずれか一項に記載の潜像形成フィルム。
- 請求項1〜6のうちのいずれか一項に記載の潜像形成フィルムと、吸収軸方位が異なる複数の直線偏光板からなる識別器具とを備えることを特徴とする潜像識別キット。
- 請求項1〜6のうちのいずれか一項に記載の潜像形成フィルム上に吸収軸方位が異なる複数の直線偏光板からなる識別器具を配置した際に、前記複数の直線偏光板を通して観察される複数の潜像の光の波長をそれぞれ観察し、前記潜像の光の波長の組み合わせにより潜像を識別することを特徴とする潜像識別方法。
