Description
以下、本発明の第1実施形態について図を参照して説明する。本実施形態で示される乗員保護装置の起動装置は、例えば、車両のエアバック等の乗員保護装置を起動するためのものである。すなわち、車両が前突したときや後突されたときに対応して、車両に備えられた乗員保護装置を起動する起動装置である。
本実施形態では、第1実施形態と異なる部分についてのみ説明する。本実施形態では、多重衝突の際には、前突が起こった後に後突が起こる可能性が極めて高いので、後突を検出しやすくすることが特徴となっている。
第1実施形態では、車両の前突を判定するために第1前突閾値および第2前突閾値を用いていたが、これは前突判定の最小限の判定方法を示したものである。すなわち、さらに多くの閾値を用いて前突を判定することもできる。また、車両の後突を判定するための第1後突閾値および第2後突閾値についても同様である。

Claims (2)
- 車両の衝突を検出して乗員を保護するための保護装置を起動させる起動装置であって、
前記車両の前突を検出したとき、前突に対する前突用保護装置に前突時起動信号を出力することにより、前記前突用保護装置を起動させる前突検出手段(40)と、
前記車両の後突を検出したとき、後突に対する後突用保護装置に後突時起動信号を出力することにより、前記後突用保護装置を起動させる後突検出手段(50)と、
車両前方方向の加速度を前方加速度検出値として取得する一方、車両後方方向の加速度を後方加速度検出値として取得する衝突検出手段(10〜30)と、を備え、
前記前突検出手段(40)は、前記前方加速度検出値および前記後方加速度検出値を入力し、前記前方加速度検出値が第1前突閾値を超えるか否か、および前記後方加速度検出値が第2前突閾値を超えるか否かを判定することにより前記車両の前突の有無を判定し、
前記後突検出手段(50)は、前記前方加速度検出値および前記後方加速度検出値を入力し、前記前方加速度検出値が第1後突閾値を超えるか否か、および前記後方加速度検出値が第2後突閾値を超えるか否かを判定することにより前記車両の後突の有無を判定するようになっており、前記前突検出手段(40)が前記車両の前突を検出したとき、所定時間、前記第1後突閾値および前記第2後突閾値を変化させることにより前記各検出値が前記閾値を超えやすくして前記車両の後突の判定を行うことにより、前記車両の後突を検出しやすくすることを特徴とする乗員保護装置の起動装置。 - 前記後突用保護装置は、少なくともアクティブヘッドレストとリアウィンドカーテンエアバックとのいずれか一方または両方であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の乗員保護装置の起動装置。
