と規定される。したがって、波長λaのレーザ光の光軸を光軸補正素子による回折にて波長λbのレーザ光の光軸に一致させようとすると、レーザ素子間の発光点間隔d1は、
d1=L1tanθ1 …(3)
と規定されるから、波長λaと、光軸補正素子103の格子ピッチpから、レーザ素子間の発光点間隔d1は、
d1=L1tan(sin-1λa/p) …(4)
として設定される。従って、出射波長λaと発光点間隔d1から単純光路長L1を求め、この位置に光軸補正素子を配置することにより、波長λaのレーザ光(1次回折光)の光軸を、波長λbのレーザ光の光軸に整合させることができる。逆に、発光点間隔d1と単純光路長L1が決まっている場合には、式(4)をもとに回折格子の格子ピッチpを設定すれば良い。
よって、この式を用いながら、光軸間隔d2と単純光路長L2をもとに回折格子の格子ピッチpを算出し、当該格子ピッチpを有する回折格子を光検出器から単純光路長L2の位置に配置すれば良い。

Claims (1)
- CD用レーザ光、DVD用レーザ光および次世代DVD用レーザ光を発する3つの発光素子を同一筐体に収容した半導体レーザと、該半導体レーザから出射されたレーザ光を記録媒体上に導く光学系とを備えた光ピックアップ装置において、
前記半導体レーザは、前記CD用レーザ光の光軸が前記光学系に整合するよう前記光学系に対して配置され、
前記CD用レーザ光に対しては有限系、その他のレーザ光に対しては無限系と成された対物レンズと、
前記DVD用レーザ光の1次光を前記次世代DVD用レーザ光の0次光の光軸に回折作用によって整合させる格子ピッチと、前記DVD用レーザ光の1次光回折効率が1次光以外のどの回折効率よりも高く、かつ、前記次世代DVD用レーザ光の0次光回折効率が0次光以外のどの回折効率よりも高く、かつ、前記CD用レーザ光の0次光回折効率が0次光以外のどの回折効率よりも高くなる格子ステップ高さおよびステップ数とを有するホログラム格子パターンが形成された回折格子とを備えたことを特徴とする光ピックアップ装置。
