Claims (5)
- 機関排気通路内に配置された共通のケーシング内に前段触媒及び後段触媒を互いに直列配置して収容した内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、前段触媒を、流入する排気ガスの空燃比がリーンのときに流入する排気ガス中のNOxを吸蔵し流入する排気ガスの空燃比がリッチになると吸蔵しているNOxを放出して還元するNOx吸蔵還元触媒から構成すると共に、後段触媒を三元触媒又はNOx吸蔵還元触媒から構成し、前段触媒の酸化性を後段触媒の酸化性よりも高くなるように調製すると共に後段触媒の還元性を前段触媒の還元性よりも高くなるように調製し、前段触媒を上層及び下層を具備した多層構造から構成し、前段触媒において上層の酸化性を下層の酸化性よりも高くなるように調製すると共に下層の還元性を上層の還元性よりも高くなるように調製した内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記後段触媒を上層及び下層を具備した多層構造から構成し、後段触媒において上層の還元性を下層の還元性よりも高くなるように調製すると共に下層の酸化性を上層の酸化性よりも高くなるように調製した請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記後段触媒を単層構造から構成した請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 内燃機関における空燃比がリーンに設定されており、前記NOx吸蔵還元触媒内に吸蔵されたNOxを放出し還元すべきときにはNOx吸蔵還元触媒に流入する排気ガスの空燃比が一時的にリッチに切り換えられる請求項1から3までのいずれか一項に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 内燃機関における空燃比が機関運転状態に応じて一時的に理論空燃比に切り換えられる請求項4に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
