Description
130グラムの赤干渉(red interference)TiO2コーテイングされた雲母を、米国特許第5,611,851号に記載の如く、酸溶解段階で処理し、次いで第2段階でアルカリ浸出して、約80グラムの赤干渉TiO2小板を生成させ、これを脱イオン水1リットル中にスラリー化した。このスラリーを250〜300rpmで撹拌し、そしてpHを必要に応じてHCl及び/又はNaOHを使用して6.5〜7.0に調節した。25℃で、200gの10%CrCl3・6H2Oを、NaOHの適当な添加によりpHを6.5〜7.0で一定に維持しながら、2.0ml/分の速度で加えた。クロム添加の終了に続いて、固体をろ過しそして得られるプレスケーキを洗浄しそして450℃で1/2時間か焼した。部分か焼の後、結晶を脱イオン水1リットル中に再スラリー化しそして74℃に加熱した。その温度で、pHを3.5に調節した。次いで紫色に着色した生成物に、39%水性FeCl330mlを、pHを3.5で一定に維持しながら、0.5ml/分の速度で加えた。スラリーをろ過しそして得られるプレスケーキを洗浄しそして850℃で1/2時間か焼した。深い且つ強い紫色に着色した生成物が得られ、これは干渉紫色を示す板状TiO2と比べてより高い反射率を有する。
クロム添加を省いて実施例1の方法を繰り返した。紫色の反射性製品(violet reflecting products)が得られたが、それは実施例1の製品よりも少ない色強度を有していた。
塩化クロムの代わりに塩化錫を使用して実施例1の方法を繰り返した。紫色の反射性製品が得られたが、それは実施例1の製品よりも少ない色強度及び反射率を有していた。
実施例2に従って製造された着色剤製品を1%濃度でポリプロピレンステップチップ(step chips)に配合する。ステップチップは適切な名前である。何故ならば、それらはチップの面を横切って各ステップにおける徐々に変わっていく(graduating)厚さを有するからである。徐々に変わっていくステップはポリマー厚さに基づく着色剤の種々の効果を調べることを可能とする。
実施例2に従って製造された着色剤製品をネールエナメルに配合する。10gの着色剤を82gの懸濁ラッカーSLF−2、4gのラッカー127P及び4gの酢酸エチルと混合する。懸濁ラッカーSLF−2は、酢酸ブチル、トルエン、ニトロセルロース、トシルアミド/ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、イソプロピルアルコール、ジブチルフタレート、酢酸エチル、樟脳、n−ブチルアルコール及びシリカからなる一般的ネールエナメルである。
実施例2からの10重量%の着色剤製品をPGI corona Gun♯110347を使用してTiger DrylacからのポリエステルTGIC粉末コーテイングにおいて噴霧する。着色剤を透明なポリエステル系中に混合しそしてRAL9005黒着色ポリエステル粉末の上に噴霧する。着色剤は、粉末化された金属パネルにその電気的性質により高度に引き付けられる。更に、ぴったりと表面に配向するその高い親和性により、それは像の明瞭さ(DOI)が高い仕上げを生じる。それは従来の真珠光沢顔料及び金属フレーク顔料によりしばしば引き起こされる突起を減少させるために追加のクリアーコートを必要としない。
実施例12
実施例2に従って製造された着色剤製品の10%分散液を、種々のPPGチント(PPG tints)とともに透明アクリルウレタンベースコートクリアーコート塗料系DBX−689(PPG)に混合して所望の色を達成する。チントペーストはPPGからのDMD Deltron Automotive Refinish ペイントラインに適当な溶媒浮遊系(solventborne system)中に種々の濃度で分散した有機又は無機着色剤からなる。完全な配合物は、Graphic Metalsより供給される4X12”湾曲した自動車型パネル上に慣用のサイフォン供給スプレーガンを使用して噴霧される。パネルはPPG2001高固形分ポリウレタンクリアーコートで透明コーティングされ(clear coated)そして空気乾燥される。
Claims (20)
- 約1〜75μmの長さと約5〜600nmの干渉厚さを有しそして少なくとも1%の雲母を含有する二酸化チタンの小板を含んでなり、該二酸化チタンの上に部分的にか焼されたクロムコーティングを有し、該クロムコーティングの上にか焼された酸化鉄コーティングを有する、結晶性二酸化チタン真珠光沢顔料。
- 小板は実質的に基材がなく、そして約2〜35μmの長さと約20〜400nmの厚さを有する請求項1の顔料。
- 二酸化チタンがルチル結晶形態にある請求項2の顔料。
- クロムが顔料の約2〜8%でありそして鉄が顔料の4〜10%である請求項3の顔料。
- クロムが顔料の約4〜5%でありそして鉄が顔料の6〜7%である請求項4の顔料。
- 二酸化チタンがルチル結晶形態にある請求項1の顔料。
- クロムが顔料の約2〜8%でありそして鉄が顔料の4〜10%である請求項1の顔料。
- クロムが顔料の約4〜5%でありそして鉄が顔料の6〜7%である請求項7の顔料。
- 二酸化チタンがアナターゼ結晶形態にある請求項1の顔料。
- 請求項1の顔料を含む塗料又はインキ組成物。
- 請求項1の顔料を含むブラスチック組成物。
- 請求項1の顔料を含む化粧品組成物。
- 約1〜75μmの長さと約5〜600nmの干渉厚さを有しそして少なくとも1%の雲母を含有する二酸化チタンの小板を含んでなる結晶性二酸化チタン真珠光沢顔料を用意し、該顔料上に含水クロム層を付着させ、該クロムコーティングされた顔料を少なくとも部分的にか焼し、該クロム層上に含水鉄層を付着させ、そして該鉄コーティングされ、クロムコーティングされた顔料をか焼することを含んでなる請求項1の顔料を製造する方法。
- 付着条件下に水性クロム塩溶液中に顔料をスラリー化させることによりクロムを付着させる請求項13の方法。
- クロムコーティングされた顔料を少なくとも部分的にか焼することが、約350〜500℃の温度に約0.1〜5時間加熱することを含んでなる請求項14の方法。
- 付着条件下に水性鉄塩溶液中に該クロムコーティングされた顔料をスラリー化させることにより鉄を付着させる請求項15の方法。
- 顔料の約2〜8%のクロム含有率及び顔料の約4〜10%の鉄含有率を実現するようにクロムと鉄を付着させる請求項16の方法。
- 顔料の約4〜5%のクロム含有率及び顔料の約6〜7%の鉄含有率を実現するようにクロムと鉄を付着させる請求項17の方法。
- クロムコーティングされた顔料を少なくとも部分的にか焼することが、約425〜475℃の温度に約0.25〜0.75時間加熱することを含んでなる請求項13の方法。
- 用意された二酸化チタン真珠光沢顔料が実質的に基材がない請求項13の方法。
