Claims (11)
- 排気中の微粒子を捕集するパティキュレートフィルタと、
前記パティキュレートフィルタより下流の排気通路に設けられた排気絞り弁と、
前記パティキュレートフィルタに捕集されたパティキュレートを酸化除去するためのPM再生処理を行うPM再生手段と、
前記PM再生処理の実行時に前記排気絞り弁の開度を減少させてパティキュレートフィルタ内の圧力を高める高圧化手段と、
前記高圧化手段により前記パティキュレートフィルタ内の圧力が高められている時の機関運転状態と前記パティキュレートフィルタの状態との少なくとも一方が予め定められた高圧PM再生処理禁止領域に属するか否かを判別する判別手段と、
前記判別手段により機関運転状態と前記パティキュレートフィルタの状態との少なくとも一方が前記高圧PM再生処理禁止領域に属すると判別された時は前記高圧化手段によるパティキュレートフィルタ内圧力の高圧化を解除し、前記判別手段により機関運転状態が前記高圧PM再生処理禁止領域に属していないと判別された時は前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が上限値に達する可能性が高いほどパティキュレートフィルタ内圧力が低くなるように前記高圧化手段を制御しつつ前記PM再生処理を継続させる制御手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。 - 請求項1において、前記制御手段は、前記パティキュレートフィルタへ流入する排気量が少ないほど、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が上限値に達する可能性が高いと判定することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1又は2において、前記制御手段は、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が高いほど、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が上限値に達する可能性が高いと判定することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1〜3の何れか一において、前記制御手段は、前記パティキュレートフィルタに捕集されているPM量が多いほど、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が上限値に達する可能性が高いと判定することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1〜4の何れか一において、前記制御手段は、前記内燃機関の負荷が高いほど、
前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が上限値に達する可能性が高いと判定することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。 - 請求項1において、前記判別手段は、前記パティキュレートフィルタへ流入する排気量と前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度と前記パティキュレートフィルタに捕集されているPM量と前記内燃機関の負荷との少なくとも1つが所定の許容範囲から外れていることを条件に、機関運転状態と前記パティキュレートフィルタの状態との少なくとも一方が高圧PM再生処理禁止領域に属すると判別することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1〜6の何れか一において、PM再生処理実行中に前記パティキュレートフィルタに残存しているPM量を推定する推定手段を更に備え、
前記制御手段は、前記推定手段により推定されたPM量が少なくなるにつれて前記パティキュレートフィルタ内の圧力が高くなるように前記高圧化手段を制御することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。 - 請求項7において、前記推定手段は、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度と、前記パティキュレートフィルタへ流入する排気量と、前記パティキュレートフィルタ内の圧力とをパラメータとして前記パティキュレートフィルタに残存しているPM量を推定することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1〜8の何れか一において、前記高圧化手段が前記排気絞り弁の開度を減少させている期間に前記内燃機関の運転状態がフューエルカット領域に入ると所定量の燃料噴射を継続する燃料噴射手段を更に備え、
前記所定量は、前記パティキュレートフィルタ内の圧力が高くなるほど多くされることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。 - 請求項1〜9の何れか一において、前記制御手段は、前記パティキュレートフィルタ内の圧力を低下させるときに、前記排気絞り弁の開度が増加するように前記高圧化手段を制御することを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
- 請求項1〜10の何れか一において、前記パティキュレートフィルタより上流の排気通路に配置された流量調整弁と、
前記排気絞り弁又は前記流量調整弁の開度を減少させて排気ブレーキを作用させる排気ブレーキ手段と、を更に備え、
前記排気ブレーキ手段は、PM再生処理実行中に排気ブレーキを作用させる時に、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が前記上限温度に達する可能性が高ければ前記流量調整手段の開度を減少させ、前記パティキュレートフィルタの温度が前記上限温度に達する可能性が低ければ前記排気絞り弁の開度を減少させることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化システム。
