Description
実施例1〜2、比較例1〜3、参考例
図1に示す如きガラスストランド製造装置であって、ブッシングの底面積(A)、ノズル総数(B)、プル(時間あたりのフィラメントの引き出し重量 )(C)、ブッシングの中心とファンの送風口との距離(D)およびファンの吹き出し口の風速(E)および空気の当たる場所(F)を、表1に記載の通りとして実施例、比較例および参考例(従来例)のガラスストランド製造装置とした。該ガラスストランド製造装置を各実施例、比較例および参考例用としてそれぞれ10機用意した。
各例のそれぞれ10機のアプリケーター付近温度を、安立計測株式会社製のデジタル温度計HFT−40にて、各例のそれぞれ10機のアプリケーターロールとフィラメントとの接触地点の約10mm上方に設置し、各装置の温度を測定してその平均値を求めた。その測定結果を表1に示す。
上記の結果からして、ガラスストランド製造装置において、そのブッシングを大型化した場合には、従来同様の構成では激しい糸切れが発生するが、該課題は本発明の構成により解決されることが明らかである。

Claims (2)
- 溶融ガラスをノズルを通してガラスフィラメントとして排出するブッシングと、該ブッシングから引き出されたフィラメントに集束液を付与するアプリケーターと、前記フィラメントを冷却するプレパドスプレーと、集束液が付与されたガラスストランドを巻き取るロールとを有するガラスストランド製造装置において、アプリケーター周辺の温度を40℃未満に保持できるエアカーテンを形成する能力を有する送風機を設け、該送風機の送風方向が、前記アプリケーターと前記プレパドスプレーの間であって、該アプリケーターの水平中心位置よりも上方10mm〜600mmの範囲に前記エアカーテンを形成する方向であることを特徴とするガラスストランド製造装置。
- 前記ブッシングが、その底面積が0.06〜0.18m2で、1個のブッシングに設けられたノズルの総数が約2,000〜6,000個である請求項1に記載のガラスストランド製造装置。
