図1は、本発明の第1の実施の形態に係る反応装置10が適用される発電装置100のブロック図である。この発電装置100は、ノート型パーソナルコンピュータ、携帯電話機、PDA(Personal Digital Assistant)、電子手帳、腕時計、デジタルスチルカメラ、デジタルビデオカメラ、ゲーム機器、遊技機、その他の電子機器に備え付けられたものであり、電子機器本体を動作させるための電源として用いられる。

図2は、反応装置10を示す斜視図である。反応装置10は断熱パッケージ20に収納されている。断熱パッケージ20の内側面と反応装置の外側面との間は図示しないスペーサーを介して隙間が設けられている。また、断熱パッケージ20の内部空間には断熱効果のあるように低圧(0.03Pa以下)に維持されており、反応装置10から断熱パッケージ20外部への熱損失を抑えている。、断熱パッケージ20の内部空間には、若干の気体が存在するが、いずれも高温反応部11及び低温反応部12での温度範囲内で不活性のアルゴン、ヘリウムなどの希ガスが好ましいが、これに限られない。
図4は図2の切断線IV−IVに沿って高温反応部11及び低温反応部12を水平方向に切断した際の矢視断面図であり、図5は図2の切断線V−Vに沿って高温反応部11及び低温反応部12を水平方向に切断した際の矢視断面図であり、図6は図2の切断線VI−VIに沿って高温反応部11及び低温反応部12を水平方向に切断した際の矢視断面図であり、図7は図2の切断線VII−VIIに沿って高温反応部11を垂直方向に切断した際の矢視断面図である。
燃焼流路44は一端が混合流路47に接続され、他端が排気管36と接続されている。燃焼流路44には、オフガス中の水素の酸化反応を触媒する燃焼触媒が設けられている。燃焼触媒は、例えばアルミナを担体として白金を担持させたものである。
なお、液体燃料配管31は、下層及び中間層を貫通して上層に通じている。また、空気供給配管33及び改質ガス搬送管35は、下層を貫通して中間層に通じている。
燃焼流路44の排ガスは燃焼流路45の排ガスとともに排気管36から外部に放出される。
燃焼流路44における燃焼反応、及び排気流路48を通過する高温の排ガスにより低温反応部12を加熱するのに充分な熱量が得られるようになったら、低温ヒータの運転を停止或いは発熱を低減し、低温反応部12の主熱源を燃焼流路44が主熱源となるように切り替える。以後、反応装置に燃料、水、空気を供給し続けることで、連続して発電することができる。

Claims (5)
- 燃料を改質するために複数の反応器を有する反応装置において、
前記複数の反応器のうち少なくとも水素及び一酸化炭素を含む混合気から一酸化炭素を除去するCO除去器を有し且つ所定の温度で反応を引きおこす低温反応部と、
前記低温反応部と離間して設けられ、燃料を改質して水素を生成する改質器を有し且つ前記低温反応部より高温で反応を引きおこす高温反応部と、
前記低温反応部と前記高温反応部との間を連結する連結管と、
を有し、
前記低温反応部及び前記高温反応部のうち一方は、前記低温反応部及び前記高温反応部の他方に対向する面をそれぞれ有し、
前記低温反応部及び前記高温反応部の少なくとも一方は、前記低温反応部及び前記高温反応部の他方に対向する面に対して後退した切り欠けを有し、
前記連結管は、前記低温反応部及び前記高温反応部の少なくとも一方と前記切り欠けにおいて接続されるとともに、前記切り欠けとの接続部分において前記高温反応部と前記低温反応部との配列方向に対して垂直な面に平行な面内における一方向である幅方向に沿った長さが前記切り欠けよりも短くされるとともに、前記平行な面内において前記一方向と垂直な他方向である高さ方向に沿った長さが前記切り欠けよりも短くされ、且つ前記低温反応部と前記高温反応部との間の長さよりも長くされていることを特徴とする反応装置。 - 前記低温反応部と前記高温反応部の少なくとも一方は、複数の金属板で形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の反応装置。
- 前記低温反応部に設けられた流入管と、
前記流入管に接するように設けられた流出管と、
を有することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の反応装置。 - 前記低温反応部、前記高温反応部及び前記連結管を内部に収容する断熱容器を更に有し、
前記流入管及び前記流出管は、それぞれ前記断熱容器を貫通して設けられることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の反応装置。 - 前記低温反応部及び高温反応部の他方に対向する面は平面であることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の反応装置。
