Description
まず、本実施形態に係る液晶装置の構成について図1を用いて説明する。図1は、本実施形態に係る液晶装置100の概略構成を示すブロック図である。液晶装置100は、主に、LEDドライバ12と、LCDドライバ13と、液晶パネル14と、を有し、外部の電子機器110が有するバッテリー11と接続されている。なお、図1において、実線矢印は電圧の流れを示し、破線矢印は制御信号の流れを示すものとする。また、電圧を示す符号の下のかっこ書きは、当該電圧の値、又は、当該電圧の範囲を示している。このことは、後に述べる図2についても同様である。
次に、本実施形態に係る液晶装置100の具体的な電圧制御方法について図3及び図4を用いて具体的に述べる。
次に、上述した各実施形態に係る液晶装置100を適用可能な電子機器の具体例について図5を参照して説明する。以下に述べる電子機器は、本実施形態に係る液晶装置に電圧を直接入力するバッテリー11を備えている。
Claims (5)
- バッテリーの電圧が直接入力される電気光学装置であって、
表示パネルと、
入力された電圧を増幅して前記表示パネルに供給するドライバと、
前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を、夫々異なる電圧に変換して前記ドライバに供給する複数の変換回路と、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を、前記複数の変換回路のうち、どの変換回路に供給するかを切り換える切換装置と、前記切換装置を制御する制御回路と、を有する電圧調整回路と、を備え、
前記ドライバは、前記入力された電圧が変化したことを検知した場合において、当該入力された電圧に応じた電圧増幅率によって増幅した電圧を前記表示パネルへ供給するとともに、電圧増幅率変化を示す制御信号を前記制御回路に供給し、
前記制御回路は、前記電圧増幅率変化を示す制御信号を受信すると、前記切換装置を制御して、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を供給する変換回路を切り換えることを特徴とする電気光学装置。 - 前記ドライバは、前記入力された電圧が変化したことを検知した場合において、前記入力された電圧の前記電圧増幅率を、前記入力された電圧の変化を検知する前の前記電圧増幅率よりも大きくした場合には、前記制御回路に電圧増幅率拡大を示す制御信号を供給し、
前記制御回路は、前記電圧増幅率拡大を示す制御信号を受信すると、前記切換装置を制御して、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を供給する変換回路を、前記制御信号を受信する前に前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を供給していた変換回路よりも、より低い電圧に変換する変換回路に切り換えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電気光学装置。 - 前記電圧調整回路は、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧が所定の電圧以上となっているか否かを検知する電圧比較回路と、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を昇圧する昇圧回路と、を備え、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧が前記所定の電圧よりも低いと検知した場合には、前記バッテリーから入力された電圧を、前記昇圧回路により昇圧した後で、前記変換回路に供給することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の電気光学装置。
- 前記表示パネルに光を供給する照明装置と、
前記照明装置の光源を駆動する光源ドライバと、を備え、
前記光源ドライバは、前記電圧調整回路を有することを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の電気光学装置を表示部に備え、前記電気光学装置に電圧を直接入力するバッテリーを有することを特徴とする電子機器。
