Description
Claims (7)
- 液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルの表示領域を複数に分割してなるサブ領域ごとに対応してそれぞれ設けられ、対応するサブ領域を選択的に照明するバックライトと、
前記サブ領域ごとに、対応するバックライトの発光状態を監視する監視手段と、
前記監視手段の監視結果に基づいていずれのサブ領域に映像を表示させるかを決定し、その決定されたサブ領域に表示映像を割り付けると共に、そのサブ領域に対応するバックライトを発光させるように制御する表示制御手段と
を備えたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記監視手段は、各サブ領域ごとにバックライトの累積発光時間を監視し、前記表示制御手段は、最も少ない累積発光時間のバックライトと、最も多い累積発光時間のバックライトとの差が所定のしきい値以下となるようにバックライトの発光を制御する
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記表示制御手段は、入力映像を基に縮小映像を生成して前記決定されたサブ領域に割り付ける
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 利用者による操作を受け付ける入力部をさらに備え、
前記表示制御手段は、前記決定されたサブ領域が現在の表示に使用されている現サブ領域とは異なる場合に、現サブ領域から前記決定されたサブ領域への切換動作を、前記入力部に対する操作に同期して行う
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶パネルの表示領域全体に映像を表示する通常表示モードと、前記サブ領域に縮小映像を表示する縮小表示モードとを選択的に切り換えるモード切換手段をさらに備えた
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 放送番組を受信する受信手段と、
受信されて選局された番組内容を判定する番組判定手段と
をさらに備え、
前記モード切換手段は、前記番組判定手段による判定結果に基づき、選局された番組のジャンルに応じて前記通常表示モードと縮小表示モードの切り換えを行う
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 液晶パネルと、前記液晶パネルの表示領域を複数に分割してなるサブ領域ごとに対応してそれぞれ設けられ、対応するサブ領域を選択的に照明するバックライトとを備えた液晶表示装置の表示制御方法であって、
前記サブ領域ごとに、対応するバックライトの発光状態を監視し、
前記バックライトの発光状態の監視結果に基づいていずれのサブ領域に映像を表示させるかを決定し、その決定されたサブ領域に表示映像を割り付けると共に、そのサブ領域に対応するバックライトを発光させるように制御する
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置の表示制御方法。
