Description
Claims (16)
- 紙ウェブのような移動下地をフローコーティングする方法であって、
前記下地を、動的湿潤ラインにおいて前記下地に衝突する自由落下カーテンの形態で単層又は多層の液体コーティングを供給する液体コーティング供給手段及び前記下地の移動方向に対して前記動的湿潤ラインの上流に位置するブレード又は空気シールドの下側を、移動させ、
前記下地の上のコーティングカーテンの動的湿潤ラインを、前記下地の移動方向にほぼ垂直方向に、向け、
前記下地の移動方向に対する前側及び後側において、コーティングカーテンの主要部分に実質的に同じ空気圧を与え、
前記湿潤ラインの上流に第1供給空気流を供給して、前記供給空気流を自由落下カーテンに沿って相当の長さにわたって流し、そして
前記下地及びその下地に同伴される境界空気層の移動方向と逆向きに動的湿潤ライン近くの空気が移動するように、前記供給空気流の上流の位置から空気を排気することを含んでなり、更に、
コーティングカーテンの上流側に設けられたチャンバーと周囲空気との間の通路中に空気流センサーを設け、周囲空気とコーティングカーテンの上流側との間で測定された空気流の出力に応じて、動的湿潤線の近傍に供給される空気の量をゼロに制御する、
前記湿潤ラインの近傍に第2供給空気を供給することを特徴とするフローコーティング方法。 - 前記液体コーティング供給手段としてホッパー手段を用いる請求項1に記載の方法。
- 空気シールドの下流端と空気シールドの吸引開口部との間のギャップにおける前記第2供給の速度が下地の移動速度よりも速い請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記の第2供給空気の速度が下地の移動速度の2倍より大きい請求項1に記載の方法。
- 下地の移動速度が1000m/分より大きい請求項1に記載の方法。
- 下地の移動速度が1200〜3000m/分の範囲である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第2空気供給の空気速度が、反対向きに移動する下地の速度値の2倍より速く、より好ましくはブレード又は空気シールドに関して120m/sを超え、200m/sまでである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 動的湿潤線の近くに供給される空気の量が前記ブレード又は空気シールドと下地との間のギャップにおいて下地1m当たり60〜80 l/sであり、未塗布下地と前記ブレード又は空気シールドとの間のギャップが1mmである請求項1に記載の方法。
- 供給空気量が、自由落下カーテンの境界層において同伴される空気の量の2〜20倍である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 供給空気量が、自由落下カーテンの境界層において同伴される空気の量の8〜10倍の範囲である請求項9に記載の方法。
- 紙ウェブのような、塗布すべき下地をフローコーターを通して移動させるための手段を有する装置であって、
コーティング液の自由落下カーテンを供給する液体コーティング供給手段、
前記下地とブレード又は空気シールドとの間に小さいギャプを形成するブレード又は空気シールド手段、
液体コーティングカーテンが下地に衝突する動的湿潤ラインの領域に第1空気流を供給する、下地の幅ほぼ全体に広がる第1空気供給開口部、並びに
下地とブレード又は空気シールドとの間のギャップから空気を除去するように配置された、ブレード又は空気シールドに接続された吸引又は真空提供手段を具備する集成装置を含んでなり、
空気チャンバーが、下地の移動方向に対して空気コーティングカーテンの上流側であって、前記ガイド部材と前記ホッパー手段との間に配置され、第1空気供給のために前記チャンバーを周囲空気空間と連絡する第1空気供給開口部を更に含み、
チャンバーを周囲空気と連絡する第1空気供給開口部内に空気流センサーが配置され、空気流信号が制御手段に送られ、空気供給手段が制御されることによって、動的湿潤ラインの近傍に供給される空気量を、前記空気流センサーによって感知される空気流をゼロに向けるように、制御する、
前記集成装置が前記湿潤ラインの近傍の空気供給出口がある第2空気供給流を含むことを特徴とする装置。 - 前記液体コーティング供給手段がホッパー手段である請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記集成装置が、前記の第2供給空気流を湿潤ラインの方向に向けるガイド部材を含む請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記ホッパー手段がバッキングローラーのほぼ上方に配置され、前記ブレード又は空気シールド手段が前記バッキングローラーの近くに配置される請求項12に記載の装置。
- 空気シールドの上流端及び/又は下流端が、空気シールドと下地との間のギャップ内に、ラビリンス式シーリングを含む請求項11に記載の装置。
- 空気シールドの両側のコーティングカーテンに面する空気シールドの末端近くに、ラビリンス式シーリングを配置した請求項11に記載の装置。
