Φ=(F/O)A/(F/O)S (1)

Claims (12)
- 膨張式拘束用部材を膨張させるためのインフレータ装置であって、
細長い長さと反対側の第1及び第2端部とを有する密閉型ハウジングと;
該ハウジング内に配置されたある量のガス発生体材料であって、非ガス状の流体形態を有し、かつ該ハウジングの該第1端部と該第2端部の間に実質的に広がっているガス発生体材料と;
該ハウジングに隣接して配置された起動装置であって、作動時に該ハウジング内に配置された該ガス発生体材料の量のうち少なくとも一部と反応を開始するよう接触している排出部分を有する起動装置と;
を含んで成り、
作動時に、該起動装置が該ガス発生体材料の反応を開始させ、膨張ガスを生成し、
該ハウジングが、該インフレータ装置を非直線形の細長い軸形態に成形できるほど十分な可撓性を有する、膨張式拘束用部材を膨張させるためのインフレータ装置。 - 前記起動装置が、その前記第1端部で前記ハウジングに隣接して配置された、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記起動装置が、その前記第1端部と前記第2端部の中間点で前記ハウジングに隣接して配置された、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記ハウジングの外部周りに配置されたシースをさらに含んで成る、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記ハウジングの内部に配置され、該ハウジングの前記第1端部と前記第2端部の間に実質的に広がっている点火装置をさらに含んで成る、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記ガス発生体材料がある量のガス状物質を含有する、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記ガス発生体材料が液体の形態である、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記ガス発生体材料がペーストの形態である、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記ハウジングが管状である、請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記管状ハウジングが円形断面である、請求項9に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 前記管状ハウジングが非円形断面である、請求項9に記載のインフレータ装置。
- 請求項1に記載のインフレータ装置のハウジング内に配置されたガス発生体材料の反応を開始することを含む、膨張式拘束用部材を膨張させるための方法。
