Description
請求項1に記載の発明は、燃機関の排気通路に設けられて排気中の粒子状物質を捕集する排気浄化機構と、同排気浄化機構に燃料を添加する添加手段とを備える内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、前記排気浄化機構の排気上流側と排気下流側との圧力差を検出する検出手段と、前記添加手段による燃料添加の実行中にあって、予め設定されたタイミングでの前記圧力差と同タイミングに対応した差圧基準値との比較を行う比較手段と、同比較手段によって前記圧力差が前記差圧基準値を超えている旨判定される場合には、前記添加手段による燃料の添加態様を間欠添加に切り替える切替手段とを備えることをその要旨とする。
請求項4に記載の発明は、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、前記比較手段による圧力差の比較は、前記粒子状物質の推定堆積量が予め設定された閾値以下となったタイミングで行われることをその要旨とする。
請求項5に記載の発明は、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、前記排気浄化機構における非可燃性物質の量を前記間欠添加が終了したときの圧力差に基づいて推定する非可燃性物質推定手段と、同非可燃性物質推定手段によって推定される非可燃性物質の量に基づいて前記圧力差を補正する補正手段とをさらに備えることをその要旨とする。
請求項12に記載の発明は、請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、前記排気浄化機構は、排気中の粒子状物質が通過する排気浄化触媒と、同排気浄化触媒よりも排気下流側に設けられて前記粒子状物質を捕集する排気浄化部材とから構成され、前記検出手段は、前記排気浄化部材の排気上流側と排気下流側との圧力差を検出することをその要旨とする。
以下、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第1の実施形態を、図1〜図3を併せ参照して説明する。
なお排気通路14の上記DPNRコンバータ26の上流側及び下流側には、DPNRコンバータ26に流入する排気の温度である入ガス温度thciを検出する第1排気温センサ28、及びDPNRコンバータ26通過後の排気の温度である出ガス温度thcoを検出する第2排気温センサ29がそれぞれ配設されている。また排気通路14には、上記DPNRコンバータ26の排気上流側と排気下流側との圧力差ΔPを検出する検出手段を構成する差圧センサ30が配設されている。更に排気通路14にあってDPNRコンバータ26と上記酸化触媒コンバータ27との間には、排気の空燃比を検出するA/Fセンサ32が配設されている。
図2に示す一連の処理はバーンアップ制御の処理手順を示しており、電子制御装置50によって所定時間毎に繰り返し実行される。

PMsm:PM堆積量
PMe:PM排出量
PMc:PMの酸化量
PM排出量PMeは、内燃機関10の全燃焼室から排出されるPMの量であり、予めの実験等を通じて設定されたマップ、すなわち機関回転速度NEと機関負荷(ここでは燃料噴射弁40からの燃料噴射量)とをパラメータとするPM排出量算出マップを参照して求められる。
一方、ステップS110の処理において、PM再生制御が実行されている旨判定されるときには(S110:YES)、現在のPM堆積量PMsmが閾値A以下であるか否かが判定される(S120)。この閾値Aは、バーンアップ制御による間欠添加を行っても、DPNRコンバータ26内のPMが急激に酸化・燃焼されることがなく、同DPNRコンバータ26に熱劣化を生じさせない程度に現在のPM堆積量PMsmが小さいか否かを判定することのできる値として設定されている。なお、閾値Aは上記PM再生基準値PMstartよりも小さい値であって、予めの実験等を通じてその値は最適化されている。
(1)PM再生制御による燃料添加の実行中にあって、予め設定されたタイミングでの圧力差が、そのタイミングに対応した圧力差の基準値である差圧基準値Dpを超えているときに、燃料の添加態様を間欠添加に切り替えるようにしている。すなわち、間欠添加とは異なる態様で燃料添加が行われているときにPMの減少が十分に行われていない場合には、燃料の添加態様を間欠添加に切り替えるようにしている。従って、間欠添加を適切に実施することができ、もってDPNRコンバータ26に残留するPMの量を減少させることができるようになる。
(第2の実施形態)
次に、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第2の実施形態を、図4及び図5を併せ参照して説明する。
(第3の実施形態)
次に、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第3の実施形態を、図6及び図7を併せ参照して説明する。
本処理が開始されると、まず、PM再生制御が実行されているか否かが判断される(ステップS310)。このステップS310での処理は先の図2に示したステップS110での処理と同一である。
なお、上記第2の実施形態で説明したステップS250の処理において、PM堆積量PMsmが閾値B以下である旨判定される場合に、本実施形態におけるステップS350の処理、すなわち「ΔP/Ga」の値と差圧基準値DpBとの比較を行うようにしてもよい。
(第4の実施形態)
次に、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第4の実施形態を、図8及び図9を併せ参照して説明する。
(第5の実施形態)
次に、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第5の実施形態を、図10を併せ参照して説明する。
このように本実施形態では、吸入空気量Gaが所定量Gamin以上のときに圧力差の比較が行われるため、上述したような判定結果の信頼性低下を抑制することができるようになる。
ちなみに、このような吸入空気量Gaと所定量Gaminとの比較は、第2〜第4の実にもそれぞれ同様に適用することができる。
(第6の実施形態)
次に、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第6の実施形態を、図11を併せ参照して説明する。
(第7の実施形態)
次に、本発明に係る内燃機関の排気浄化装置を具体化した第7の実施形態を、図12を併せ参照して説明する。
なお、上記各実施形態は以下のように変更して実施することもできる。
Claims (12)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられて排気中の粒子状物質を捕集する排気浄化機構と、同排気浄化機構に燃料を添加する添加手段とを備える内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記排気浄化機構の排気上流側と排気下流側との圧力差を検出する検出手段と、
前記添加手段による燃料添加の実行中にあって、予め設定されたタイミングでの前記圧力差と同タイミングに対応した差圧基準値との比較を行う比較手段と、
同比較手段によって前記圧力差が前記差圧基準値を超えている旨判定される場合には、前記添加手段による燃料の添加態様を間欠添加に切り替える切替手段とを備える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記比較手段は、前記間欠添加への切り替え後にも前記タイミングとは異なる別のタイミングで前記圧力差を比較する
請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記間欠添加への切り替え後の前記圧力差が前記間欠添加への切り替え前の前記差圧基準値とは異なる別の差圧基準値以下となったときに前記間欠添加を終了する
請求項1または2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記比較手段による圧力差の比較は、前記粒子状物質の推定堆積量が予め設定された閾値以下となったタイミングで行われる
請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記排気浄化機構における非可燃性物質の量を前記間欠添加が終了したときの圧力差に基づいて推定する非可燃性物質推定手段と、
同非可燃性物質推定手段によって推定される非可燃性物質の量に基づいて前記圧力差を補正する補正手段とをさらに備える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置において、
前記排気浄化機構における非可燃性物質の量を前記間欠添加が終了したときの圧力差に基づいて推定する非可燃性物質推定手段と、
同非可燃性物質推定手段によって推定される非可燃性物質の量に基づいて前記差圧基準値を補正する補正手段とをさらに備える
ことを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記比較手段は、吸入空気量が所定量以上のときに前記圧力差を比較する
請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記検出手段は、吸入空気量が所定量以上のときの前記圧力差を検出する
請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記差圧基準値は吸入空気量が減少するほどより大きい値に設定される
請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記比較手段は、前記タイミングから所定期間経過するまでの間に検出された圧力差の平均値と前記差圧基準値とを比較する
請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記比較手段は、前記タイミングから所定期間経過するまでの間に検出された圧力差の徐変値と前記差圧基準値とを比較する
請求項1〜9のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記排気浄化機構は、排気中の粒子状物質が通過する排気浄化触媒と、同排気浄化触媒よりも排気下流側に設けられて前記粒子状物質を捕集する排気浄化部材とから構成され、
前記検出手段は、前記排気浄化部材の排気上流側と排気下流側との圧力差を検出する
