Description
実施例1〜4、参考例1及び比較例1〜3
4−グリシジル−TEMPOの合成
50重量%の水酸化ナトリウム水溶液250mLにエピクロロヒドリン171.6g(1.85mol)、硫酸水素テトラブチルアンモニウム8.11g(0.0264mol)を加え攪拌した。0℃にてOH−TEMPO 100.3g(0.580mol)を徐々に加えた。室温にて24時間攪拌し、反応溶液を氷水に注いだ。水層をジエチルエーテル(200mLx3回)で抽出し、有機層を水(200mLx3回)にて洗浄した後、硫酸マグネシウム上にて乾燥した。ろ過、減圧濃縮の後、シリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィーにて精製し、シロップ状の4−グリシジル−TEMPOを得た。
ブチルゴム、ラジカル開始剤、2,2,6,6−テトラメチルピペリジニル−1−オキシル誘導体(OH−TEMPO,G−TEMPO)もしくはGMAの表Iに示した量を60℃に温度を設定した密閉型バンバリーに入れて15分間混合した。得られた混合物を、100℃に温度設定した密閉型バンバリー中に混練しながら5分間窒素置換した。混練下に、温度を表Iに示した温度まで上昇させ、そのまま15分間混練した。得られたポリマーの一部をトルエンに溶解し、再沈殿操作によりポリマーを単離精製した。精製品を用いて、1H−NMR分析並びに元素分析を行うことにより導入率を算出した。また、分子量はゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)により測定した。結果を表IIに示す。

表IIIに示す配合(重量部)において、加硫促進剤と硫黄を除く成分を70ccのブラベンダーミキサーで5分間混練した。得られたマスターバッチと加硫促進剤、硫黄を8インチのオープンロールにて混練し、ゴム組成物を得た。このゴム組成物のJIS K6300に基づく加硫度の測定を行い、加硫特性を評価した(表III)。T5〜T95の値は加硫度が5%〜95%に到達するのに要した時間を示し、MHは測定時の最大トルクを示す。

1.OH−TEMPOによる変性
ブチルゴム(Butyl301、バイエル(株)製)350.0g、ジ−t−ブチルパーオキサイド22.8g、4−ヒドロキシ−2,2,6,6−テトラメチルピペリジニル−1−オキシル32.2gを60℃に温度を設定した密閉型バンバリーに入れ15分間混合した。得られた混合物を100℃に温度設定した密閉型バンバリー中で混練しながら5分間窒息置換した。混練しながら温度を186℃まで上昇させ、15分間混練した。得られたポリマーの一部をトルエンに溶解し、再沈殿操作によりポリマーを単離精製した。精製品を用いて1H−NMR分析を行うことにより導入を確認した。
ブチルゴム(Butyl301、バイエル(株)製)350.0g、ジ−t−ブチルパーオキサイド22.8g、4−グリシジル−2,2,6,6−テトラメチルピペリジニル−1−オキシル42.3gを60℃に温度を設定した密閉型バンバリーに入れ15分間混合した。得られた混合物を100℃に温度設定した密閉型バンバリー中で混練しながら5分間窒息置換した。混練しながら温度を186℃まで上昇させ、15分間混練した。得られたポリマーの一部をトルエンに溶解し、再沈殿操作によりポリマーを単離精製した。精製品を用いて1H−NMR分析を行うことにより導入を確認した。
実施例9、参考例2〜4及び比較例7〜9
表IVに示したように、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ラジカル開始剤(t−BPO)及び4−ヒドキシ−2,2,6,6−テトラメチルピペリジニル−1−オキシル(OH−TEMPO)を表IVに示す配合に従ってフラスコに秤取り、溶媒として20mlのt−ブチルベンゼンを入れ、窒素雰囲気下で153℃で3.5時間反応させた。反応物を含む溶液をメタノール中に滴下することによって未反応の4−ヒドキシ−2,2,6,6−テトラメチルピペリジニル−1−オキシル(OH−TEMPO)及びt−ブチルベンゼンを生成ポリマーから分離した。得られたポリマーは60℃で約20時間真空乾燥した。結果は表Vに示す。
元素分析により変性ポリマーに含まれる窒素原子の量(重量%)を測定し、この値から、ポリマー組成をポリプロピレン100%として、プロピレン単位100個当たりに含有されるOH−TEMPOの個数を求め、mol%として表示した。
Claims (9)
- 分子内の炭素ラジカルにより分解し、構成単位中にイソモノオレフィンユニットを有するポリマー(A)を安定なフリーラジカルであるニトロキシドラジカルを分子中に有する化合物(B)及びラジカル開始剤(C)としての有機過酸化物を(B)/(C)(モル比)を1より大きい比率で用いて、ポリマー(A)の分子量の低下を抑制しつつ、変性させることによって、ニトロキシドラジカルを介して、ポリマー(A)中に前記ニトロキシドラジカルを有する化合物に由来する有機基を導入することを特徴とするポリマーの変性方法。
- 前記モル比(B)/(C)が1.5以上である請求項1に記載のポリマーの変性方法。
- 安定なフリーラジカルであるニトロキシドラジカルを分子中に有する化合物(B)が2,2,6,6−テトラメチル−1−ピペリジニル-1-オキシル又はその誘導体である請求項1又は2に記載のポリマーの変性方法。
- 前記有機基が炭素数1〜30のアルキル基、フェニル基、アリル基、アミノ基、イソシアネート基、ヒドロキシル基、チオール基、ビニル基、エポキシ基、チイラン基、カルボキシル基、カルボニル基含有基、アミド基、エステル基、イミド基、ニトリル基、チオシアン基、炭素数1〜20のアルコキシ基、シリル基又はアルコキシシリル基である請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載のポリマーの変性方法。
- 前記ポリマー(A)がブチルゴムである請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載のポリマーの変性方法。
- 請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の変性方法により得られる変性ポリマー。
- 請求項6に記載の変性ポリマーを含むポリマー組成物。
- 前記ポリマー(A)がハロゲンを含まないブチルゴムである請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の変性方法で得られる加硫活性の高い変性ブチルゴム。
- 請求項8に記載の変性ブチルゴムを含むブチルゴム組成物。
