Description
しくは噴霧の状態でSOx保持手段に供給することで、SOx保持手段に担持されるSOx保持剤の量を増加させる。その結果、SOx保持手段のSOx保持能が増加し、その下流側へのSOxの流出を可及的に抑制することが可能となり、以て、下流側の例えばNOx浄化用触媒にSOxが取り込まれるのを可及的に回避され得る。ここで、SOx保持剤を溶液の状態で供給するのは、SOx保持手段へのSOx保持剤の担持をより容易にするためである。

Claims (7)
- 内燃機関の排気通路に設けられ、SOx保持剤が担持されて排気中のSOxをその内部に保持するSOx保持能を有するとともに、流入する排気の温度が上昇し且つ流入する排気の空燃比がストイキよりリーン側の空燃比になるとそのSOx保持能を回復するSOx保持手段と、
前記SOx保持剤の溶液を貯蔵するSOx保持剤溶液貯蔵手段と、
前記SOx保持剤溶液貯蔵手段に貯蔵されている前記SOx保持剤の溶液を、該SOx保持手段に供給するSOx保持剤供給手段と、
を備えることを特徴とする内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記SOx保持剤溶液貯蔵手段は、前記SOx保持剤が前記内燃機関の燃料に溶けた状態でその溶液を貯蔵し、
前記SOx保持剤供給手段は、前記内燃機関の吸気通路または気筒に設けられた燃料噴射弁から前記溶液を噴射することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記SOx保持手段のSOx保持能の程度を推定するSOx保持能推定手段を、更に備え、
前記SOx保持能推定手段によって推定されたSOx保持能が所定程度以下のとき、前記SOx保持剤供給手段によってSOx保持剤の溶液が供給されることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記SOx保持手段に流れ込む排気流量を検出し又は推定する排気流量検出手段を、更に備え、
前記排気流量検出手段によって検出され又は推定される排気流量が所定流量以上であるとき、前記SOx保持剤供給手段によってSOx保持剤の溶液が供給されることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記SOx保持手段の温度を検出し又は推定する温度検出手段を、更に備え、
前記温度検出手段によって検出され又は推定される前記SOx保持手段の温度が所定の温度範囲に属しているとき、前記SOx保持剤供給手段によってSOx保持剤の溶液が供給されることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。 - 前記SOx保持剤供給手段によってSOx保持剤の溶液が供給された後に、前記SOx保持手段の温度を上昇させる昇温手段を、更に備えることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項5の何れかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
- 前記SOx保持手段の温度を上昇させて流入する排気をリーン側の空燃比とすることで、該SOx保持手段のSOx保持能を回復させるSOx保持能回復手段を、更に備え、
前記SOx保持能回復手段によって前記SOx保持手段のSOx保持能が所定回復状態に達しないとき、前記SOx保持剤供給手段によってSOx保持剤の溶液が供給されることを特徴とする請求項1から請求項6の何れかに記載の内燃機関の排気浄化装置。
