本発明は、デジタル液晶表示メータの表示ユニットとしてのLCDディスプレイに関する。

この種のLCDディスプレイは、自動車、自動二輪車、各種ウォータビークル等のスピードメータ、タコメータ、燃料計、距離計、時計、各種アラーム類等のデジタル液晶表示メータの表示ユニットとして用いられるが、これは図に示すように構成されていた。

即ち、図4は従来のLCDディスプレイ101の構成を示す断面図であり、LCDディスプレイ101はPCB(電子基板)102上に樹脂製のプレート103、夜間用のバック照明としてのEL(エレクトロルミネセンス)104及びLCD(液晶表示素子)105及びLCD105とPCB102を接続するためのラバーコネクタ106を積み重ねてこれらをホルダー107で締付一体化して構成されるが、従来はEL104とプレート103との間にスポンジ板108を介設してEL104の厚みのバラツキをスポンジ板108の弾性変形によって吸収する構成が採用されていた。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、従来のLCDディスプレイ101においては、EL104の厚みのバラツキを吸収するためのスポンジ板108が設けられていたため、組み立てに手間が掛る他、部品点数が増大してコストアップを招くという問題があった。

本発明は上記問題に鑑みてなされたもので、その目的とする処は、組立性の改善と部品点数の削減及びこれに伴うコストダウンを図ることができるLCDディスプレイを提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、本発明は、PCB上にプレート、EL及びLCDを順に積み重ね、これらをホルダーで締付一体化して構成されるLCDディスプレイにおいて、前記プレートに前記ELを前記LCDに押圧するための弾性アームを一体に切り起こし状に複数形成し、上記LCDディスプレイの平面視で、上記各弾性アームのうちの一部の弾性アームと他部の弾性アームとの各突出方向を互いに逆方向にし、かつ、上記突出方向とは反対方向で、上記一部と他部の各弾性アームを互いに離間配置したことを特徴とする。

図3に示すデジタル液晶表示メータ10は例えば自動二輪車のスピードメータ等として使用され、これは上下に2分割された上ケース11と下ケース12内に本発明に係るLCDディスプレイ1を収納して構成されており、LCDディスプレイ1の背面(下面)から導出するリード線13は下ケース12を貫通してこれの外部に延出しており、その端部にはカプラー14が取り付けられている。又、上ケース11の上面にはレンズ15が嵌め込まれている。

ここで、本発明に係る前記LCDディスプレイ1の構成の詳細を図1及び図2に基づいて説明する。

本発明に係るLCDディスプレイ1も図4に示した従来のものと同様にPCB(電子基板)2上に樹脂製のプレート3、夜間用のバック照明としてのEL4及びLCD(液晶表示素子)5及びLCD5とPCB2を接続するためのラバーコネクタ6を積み重ねてこれらをホルダー7で締付一体化して構成されるが、本発明に係るLCDディスプレイ1は従来必要であったスポンジ板108(図4参照)を省略した点が従来のものとは異なっている。

即ち、図2に示すように、本発明に係るLCDディスプレイ1においては、前記プレート3は下面が開口する矩形ボックス状に一体成形されており、その上面の左右両側部には基端部を中心として上下に弾性変形可能な切り起こし状の弾性アーム3aがそれぞれ3列を成して一体に形成されている。各弾性アーム3aはプレート3の左右方向(長辺方向)に長い矩形の板バネ状に成形されており、前後方向(短辺方向)に3列に並設された左右各側の弾性プレート3aはその自由端(前記EL4を弾性支持する部分)が左右方向に対して交互に外向き/内向き/外向きとなるように配設されている。つまり、前後方向両側の弾性アーム3aの自由端は外向き、中央の弾性アーム3aの自由端は内向きとなっている。

ところで、組付状態にあるLCDディスプレイ1においては、EL4の厚みh2 のバラツキ、その他各種寸法誤差等はプレート3に一体に形成された弾性アーム3aの弾性変形によって吸収されるとともに、弾性アーム3aの弾発力によってEL4をLCD5に押圧して密着させることができるため、従来必要であったスポンジ板(図4参照)108が不要となり、部品点数を削減してコストダウンを図ることができるとともに、組立性を改善して組立時間を短縮することができる。

【発明の効果】
以上の説明で明らかなように、本発明によれば、PCB上にプレート、EL及びLCDを順に積み重ね、これらをホルダーで締付一体化して構成されるLCDディスプレイにおいて、前記プレートに前記ELを前記LCDに押圧するための弾性アームを一体に切り起こし状に複数形成し、上記LCDディスプレイの平面視で、上記各弾性アームのうちの一部の弾性アームと他部の弾性アームとの各突出方向を互いに逆方向にし、かつ、上記突出方向とは反対方向で、上記一部と他部の各弾性アームを互いに離間配置したため、プレートに一体に形成された弾性アームの弾性変形によってELの厚みのバラツキを吸収するとともに、弾性アームの弾発力によってELをLCDに押圧して密着させることができ、従来必要であったスポンジ板が不要となって部品点数の削減及びコストダウンを図ることができるとともに、組立性を改善して組立時間を短縮することができるという効果が得られる。
