この発明は、中空構造のアイアンゴルフクラブヘッド,ウッドゴルフクラブヘッド等のゴルフクラブヘッドにかかわり、更に詳しくは炭素繊維強化プラスチック(CFRP)を主材とするクラブヘッドの中空部内に、打球時に共鳴音を発する金属製の共鳴体を内蔵させて打球時にフィーリングを良好にすると同時に、クラブヘッドの重心深度やヘッド重心周りの慣性モーメントを大きくでき、更に低重心化も図ることが出来るゴルフクラブヘッドに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
近年市販されている中空構造のアイアンゴルフクラブヘッド,ウッドゴルフクラブヘッドには、外殻が炭素繊維強化プラスチックで構成され、ソール部が金属材料で構成されて一体的に構成された合成樹脂製のクラブヘッドや、チタン,ステンレス等の金属材料を主材としたクラブヘッド等が知られている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
また、クラブヘッドに発音体または発音機構を有し、クラブフェイスの芯にボールが当たった時に音を発生するゴルフクラブも提案されている(例えば、特許文献2参照)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
然しながら、前者の中空構造の合成樹脂製クラブヘッドは、上述したように外殻が炭素繊維強化プラスチック(CFRP)で構成されているため、打球音が極めて小さく、後者の金属材料を主材としたクラブヘッドに比べて打球感(フィーリング)が極めて悪いと言う問題があった。

また、最近のチタン,ステンレス等の金属材料を主材としたメタルウッドゴルフクラブヘッドにおいても、ヘッド本体の体積が大きくなるにつれて肉厚が薄くなり、心地よい打球音が得られないと言う問題があった。
また発音体または発音機構を有するクラブヘッドの場合には、特定箇所に打球した時のみ打撃音が共鳴するものであり、共鳴音は極めて小さい。更に、中空構造の合成樹脂製クラブヘッド及びメタルウッドゴルフクラブヘッドにおいては、重量体をソール部側に取付けることで低重心化を図る設計も行われているが、重量体を取付けることで、更に心地良い打球感や打球音を得ることが出来ないと言う問題があった。

【課題を解決するための手段】
この発明は上記目的を達成するため、炭素繊維強化プラスチックで構成した外殻と、金属材料で構成したソール部とで中空構造のクラブヘッド本体を一体的に形成し、前記中空構造のクラブヘッド本体内部のソール部に、打球時に共鳴音を発する複数の金属製の棒から成る共鳴体を鉛直向きに立設させて内蔵したことを要旨とするものである。
ここで、前記金属製の共鳴体を、クラブヘッド本体の材料よりも高比重材料を用いるものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、添付図面に基づきこの発明の実施の形態を説明する。
図1はこの発明の一実施形態を示す炭素繊維強化プラスチック(CFRP)を主材とするウッドゴルフクラブのクラブヘッド本体1の断面図を示し、2は外殻、3はステンレス,鉄等の金属材料で形成されたソールプレートを示している。

前記クラブヘッド本体1の共鳴箱となる中空部4内には、鋼棒等の金属材料から成るY字状に形成された共鳴体5や、鋼棒等の金属材料から成る共鳴体5aが内蔵され、この共鳴体5または共鳴体5a、または両共鳴体5,5aは、ソールプレート3の内側のトウ側3aまたはヒール側3bの2箇所に設けたり、或いは図2に示すように、ソールプレート3の裏面側に複数本立設させて一体的に形成しても良い。

この発明は、上記のように炭素繊維強化プラスチックで構成した外殻と、金属材料で構成したソール部とで中空構造のクラブヘッド本体を一体的に形成し、前記中空構造のクラブヘッド本体内部のソール部に、打球時に共鳴音を発する複数の金属製の棒から成る共鳴体を鉛直向きに立設させて内蔵したので、打球時にフィーリング(打球音,打球感)を良好にすると同時に、クラブヘッドの重心深度やヘッド周りの慣性モーメントを大きくでき、更に低重心化も図ることが出来る効果がある。
