本発明は、ウインドガラスに弾接する中空シール部のシール面の略中央にリップ部を突設した自動車用ウエザーストリップに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
図5に示す如くハードトップタイプの自動車のA−A断面を図6に示すこの種のウエザーストリップは、ウインドガラスGとクオーターガラスQとに弾接する中空シール部10を形成し、ウインドガラスGの車内側側面に弾接する該中空シール部10の略中央にリップ部12を突設している。該リップ部12の付け根部に幅の狭い溝13を形成し、この溝13付近のシール面11と取付基底部14との間にブリッジ15を設けている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、上記のように中空シール部10にブリッジ15を設けた構造の場合、図7に示す如くガラス先端側シール面11に加圧Fを与えると、仮線の如く連動して大きく変形しリップ部12が寸法aだけ低くなる。また、図8に示す如くリップ部12に加圧Fを与えると、仮線の如く連動して大きく変形しガラス先端側シール面11が寸法bだけ低くなる。

従って、図6に示す如くウインドガラスGがウエザーストリップに弾接すると、上記のような現象によりリップ部12或いはガラス先端側シール面11が寸法a或いはb程低くなるため、シール圧が低下して水漏れや風切り音の不具合を生じる。また、図9に示すようにリップ部12がガラス先端側シール面11に弾接した状態になると、ガラス先端側シール面11のシール圧が低下してシール性不良を起こすという問題がある。
そこで、本発明はかかる従来の課題に鑑みて、シール性の向上を図った自動車ドア用ウエザーストリップを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
かかる目的を達成するために本発明の構成は、図1に示すように、自動車の車体パネルに取付けられ、ウインドガラスG先端部に弾接する中空シール部3を形成し、ウインドガラスGの車内側側面に弾接するリップ部5を該中空シール部3の略中央に突設したウエザーストリップ1において、上記中空シール部3のシール面4と取付基底部2との間にブリッジ6を設けると共に、該ブリッジ6の上記シール面4との接合部7と、上記リップ部5の基端部8との間に、上記ウインドガラスGと略平行かつ略直線状で上記リップ部5以上の長さの連結部9を形成したものである。
また、ブリッジ6及び連結部9の肉厚をリップ部5など中空シール部3の他の部分の肉厚よりも薄くしたものである。

【実施例】
以下、本発明の実施例を図に基づいて詳細に説明する。図1において、1はウエザーストリップで、取付基低部2を図5に示す自動車の車体パネルのリテーナRに嵌め込み、ウインドガラスGに弾接する中空シール部3を形成している。該中空シール部3の略中央にリップ部5を突設し、またウインドガラスGの先端部が弾接するシール面4と取付基底部2との間にブリッジ6を設けている。

上記構成により、図2に示す如くウインドガラスGが閉止されてシール面4に当接し、加圧Fが加えられると仮線で示すようにシール面4及び連結部9が変形するが、リップ部5は変位せず従来と異なりシール性が損なわれない。また、図3に示す如くリップ部5にウインドガラスGが当接して、加圧Fが加えられると仮線で示すようにリップ部5及び連結部9が変形するが、シール面4は変位せずシール性が損なわれない。

図4に示すようにウインドガラスGが当接しても、従来と異なりリップ部5の先端がシール面4に当たらないためこのシール圧が低下することなくシール性が向上する。
上記連結部9及びブリッジ6の肉厚がリップ部5及びシール面4の肉厚よりも薄いことが必要条件である。この場合連結部9及びブリッジ6の肉厚が薄くできないときは少なくとも一方にノッチを設けると良い。また、連結部9及びブリッジ6の肉厚が薄い場合でも上記の如くノッチを設けても良い。なお、連結部9の長さLはリップ部5の長さLに対し長いほど効果的である。

【発明の効果】
以上説明したように本発明の自動車用ウエザーストリップは、中空シール部に設けたブリッジのシール面との接合部と、中空シール部の略中央に突設したリップ部の基端部との間に、ウインドガラスと略平行かつ直線状で上記リップ部以上の長さの連結部を形成したものであるから、ウインドガラスが当接した際、従来のようにリップ部或いはシール面がへこんでシール性が低下することがない。
