【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、情報表示装置に関し、特にテレビ番組情報をモニタ上に表示する電子番組ガイドの改善を図ったものに関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、一般家庭で放送されているアナログ形式のテレビ受信機では、視聴者が見たいと思う番組を新聞や雑誌等に記載されたものから参照し、そのチャンネルをリモコン等で選択することで、所望の番組を視聴することができる。

一方、近年実用化されつつあるデジタル方式放送では数十から数百のチャンネルを提供することが可能であり、映像データと一緒に番組情報を送信し、受信機側でこれを分析して、モニタ上に番組表を表示する電子番組ガイドサービスが重要なものとなる。

従来の情報表示装置では、視聴者は、例えば、特表平６−５０４１６５公報に示されるような、横方向に時間軸を設け、縦方向に番組を対応づけて表示する形式のサービスを受け、画面上に区画して表示された各番組を代表するセルを、リモコンなどの入力機器を用いて画面上に表示されるカーソルを操作して指示し、選択することによって、所望の番組を選択し、該選択された番組の視聴や録画予約などを容易に行なうことができる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従来の情報表示装置は以上のように構成されており、各チャンネルの番組内容をモニタ上で参照することができ、非常に便利である。しかし以下のような問題が挙げられる。

番組表の中から所望の番組を見つけるためには、番組表やチャンネル一覧等を利用して根気よく検索する場合が多い。しかし、より細かいユーザ嗜好で番組を検索することは難しい。例えば、見ようとしている番組と同じものでもっと課金額が安い番組、今まで見ていた番組と同じような番組で現在人気がある番組、見ようとしている番組と同じものでもっと画質や音質が良い番組を見つけることは難しい。

この発明は、上記のような問題点を解消するためになされたもので、例えば、見ようとしている番組と同じものでもっと課金額が安い番組を表示することのできる情報表示装置を提供することを目的とする。

また、この発明は、今まで見ていた番組と同じような番組で現在人気がある番組を表示することのできる情報表示装置を提供することを目的とする。

また、この発明は、見ようとしている番組と同じものでもっと画質や音質が良い番組を表示することのできる情報表示装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題を解決するために、本発明（請求項１）にかかる情報表示装置は、課金情報を含む番組情報を記憶する番組情報記憶手段と、前記番組情報記憶手段が記憶した番組情報に基づいて番組表を表示する番組表提供手段と、前記番組表提供手段が表示した番組表から所望の番組を選択する番組選択手段と、前記番組情報記憶手段が記憶した番組情報から前記番組選択手段にて選択された所望の番組と番組内容が同一の他の番組を検索し、検索した前記他の番組の課金情報に応じて前記他の番組の中から表示すべき番組を特定し表示する番組情報提供手段とを備えたものである。

また、本発明（請求項２）にかかる情報表示装置は、視聴率情報を含む番組情報を記憶する番組情報記憶手段と、前記番組情報記憶手段が記憶した番組情報に基づいて番組表を表示する番組表提供手段と、前記番組表提供手段が表示した番組表から所望の番組を選択する番組選択手段と、前記番組情報記憶手段が記憶した番組情報から前記番組選択手段にて選択された所望の番組と番組内容が類似の他の番組を検索し、検索した前記他の番組の視聴率情報に応じて前記他の番組の中から表示すべき番組を特定し表示する番組情報提供手段とを備えたものである。

また、本発明（請求項８）にかかる情報表示装置は、番組情報を記憶する番組情報記憶手段と、番組毎の放送音質情報を記憶する放送音質情報記憶手段と、前記番組情報記憶手段が記憶した番組情報に基づいて番組表を表示する番組表提供手段と、前記番組表提供手段が表示した番組表から所望の番組を選択する番組選択手段と、前記番組情報記憶手段が記憶した番組情報から前記番組選択手段にて選択された所望の番組と番組内容が同一の他の番組を検索し、検索した前記他の番組の放送音質情報を前記放送音質情報記憶手段が記憶した放送音質情報から取得し、取得した前記他の番組の放送音質情報に応じて前記他の番組の中から表示すべき番組を特定し表示する番組情報提供手段とを備えたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
実施の形態１．
図１は本発明の実施の形態１による情報表示装置を示す構成図である。本実施の形態１による情報表示装置は、番組の送り手が定義する番組の価値として、番組情報に含まれて配信される各番組の課金額を用い、これに基づいて、番組表で選択された番組に対して、当該選択番組と番組内容が同一でかつ番組課金額の安価な他の番組を表示するようにしたものである。

図１において、送信されてくる番組情報には、図３に示されるように、複数の番組のチャンネル番号，番組タイトル，放送時刻，課金情報，ジャンル，視聴率等の多くの情報が所定のフォーマットで含まれる。１１は上記番組情報を受けてこれを記録する番組情報記憶手段、１２は各番組情報をそれぞれ分割された複数のセルのひとつに対して割り付けてモニタ１３に表示する番組表提供手段、１４は番組表に対してカーソルを提供するカーソル提供手段、１５は番組表の中のいずれのセルにカーソルが位置しているかを検出するカーソル位置検出手段、１６はカーソルが位置するセルに対応する番組を選択する番組選択手段、１７は番組情報記憶手段１１に記録された番組情報の中から、選択した番組の番組タイトル（番組名）と全く同じ番組タイトル（番組名）をもつ他の番組を検索し、さらにこの同一タイトルの番組の中から課金額が選択した番組の課金額よりも安い番組を検出しモニタに表示する番組情報提供手段（安価番組提供手段）である。

次に、本実施の形態１の情報表示装置の動作を図２に示すフローチャートを参照しつつ説明する。
まずステップ１において、番組情報記憶手段１１は番組情報を受けて、図３に示すような番組情報を記憶する。ステップ２において、番組表提供手段１２は記憶している番組情報を番組表としてモニタ１３に提供する。例えば、図４のように、３チャンネルの２時間分スケジュールを番組表として表示する。番組情報は各番組に対する様々なデータをもっているが、番組表ではその内のひとつである番組タイトルだけを表示する。ステップ３において、カーソル提供手段１４で提供されるカーソルの位置をカーソル位置検出手段１５で検出し、番組選択手段１６でカーソル位置にある番組を選択する。本実施の形態では、番組表中の「番組Ａ」が選択されたとする。ここで選択された「番組Ａ」の課金額は１０００円である。ステップ４において、安価番組提供手段１７は選択した番組と番組タイトル（番組名）が全く同じである番組を番組情報から検索する。さらに選択した番組の課金額より安い課金額をもつ番組を同一のタイトルを持つ番組の中から選択し、モニタ１３にそれを提供する。例えば図５のように、モニタ１３には同一のタイトル「番組Ａ」を持ち、かつ課金額が１０００円よりも安い番組が表示される。視聴者は、この番組表示をみて、希望する場合には、より安価な番組を選択することができる。

このように、本実施の形態１による情報表示装置では、受信した番組情報を記憶する番組情報記憶手段１１と、番組情報記憶手段１１に記憶された番組情報に基づいて番組表を作成し、この番組表をモニタ１３上に提供する番組表提供手段１２と、番組表上にカーソルを提供する手段カーソル提供手段１４と、カーソルの番組表上の位置を検出するカーソル位置検出手段１５と、検出されたカーソル位置にある番組を選択する番組選択手段１６と、番組情報記憶手段１１に番組情報が記憶された番組の中から、番組選択手段１６により選択された番組と同一の内容の他の番組を検索し、検出された他の番組のうちその課金額が選択された番組の課金額よりも安い番組についての情報を提供する番組情報提供手段（安価番組提供手段）１７とを備えた構成としたから、選択した番組と同じ内容の番組を探し、さらにその検索した番組を番組の課金額を利用してしぼり込むことができ、視聴者が最も気にしている番組の課金額が最も安くて、見たい番組を容易に提供することができる。

なお、本実施の形態では、安価番組提供手段１７が、検索した同一番組名の番組の中から課金額が選択した番組の課金額よりも安い番組を検出して提供する構成としたが、安価番組提供手段１７が、検索した同一番組名のすべての番組の課金額を安い順にソートして提供する構成としてもよい。

次に、本実施の形態２の情報表示装置の動作を図７に示すフローチャートを参照しつつ説明する。
まずステップ１において、番組情報記憶手段６１は番組情報を受けて、図３に示す内容のデータを記憶する。ステップ２において、番組表提供手段６２は記憶している番組情報を番組表としてモニタ６３に提供する。本実施の形態では例えば、図４のように、３チャンネル、２時間分のスケジュールを番組表としてモニタ６３に表示する。図４に示すように、通常番組表には番組タイトルが表示される。ステップ３において、カーソル提供手段６４で提供されるカーソルの位置をカーソル位置検出手段６５で検出し、番組選択手段６６でカーソル位置にある番組を選択する。本実施の形態では、番組表中の「番組Ｂ」が選択されたとする。ここで選択された「番組Ｂ」のジャンルは「料理」、視聴率は１２％である。ステップ４において、高視聴率番組提供手段６７は選択された番組とジャンルが全く同じである番組を選択された番組の類似番組として、これを番組情報記憶手段６１に記憶している番組情報から検出し、さらに検出した類似番組の中からその視聴率が１０％より高い類似番組を選択し、モニタ６３にそれを提供する。ただし、高い視聴率の基準値は前もって設定するものとし、ここではその値を１０％としている。例えば図８のように、モニタ６３には視聴率の高い類似番組が表示される。

このように、本実施の形態２による情報表示装置では、受信した番組情報を記憶する番組情報記憶手段６１と、番組情報記憶手段６１に記憶された番組情報に基づいて番組表を作成し、この番組表をモニタ６３上に提供する番組表提供手段６２と、番組表上にカーソルを提供する手段カーソル提供手段６４と、カーソルの番組表上の位置を検出するカーソル位置検出手段６５と、検出されたカーソル位置にある番組を選択する番組選択手段６６と、番組情報記憶手段６１に番組情報が記憶された番組の中から、番組選択手段６６により選択された番組と同一のジャンルの他の番組を検索し、検出された他の番組のうちその視聴率が高い番組についての情報を提供する番組情報提供手段（高視聴率番組提供手段）６７とを備えた構成としたから、選択した番組と似ている番組を探し、さらにその検索した番組を視聴率情報を利用してしぼり込むことができ、いつも見ている番組と同じような番組で、さらに現在人気がある番組を提供することができる。

なお、本実施の形態では、高視聴率番組提供手段６７が、選択した番組のジャンルと同一のジャンルをもつ番組を類似番組として検索する構成としたが、高視聴率番組提供手段６７が、ジャンル以外の番組内容，出演者等の番組情報を用いて類似番組を検索する構成としてもよい。

図９は本発明の実施の形態３による情報表示装置を示す構成図である。本実施の形態３による情報表示装置は、番組の送り手が定義する番組の価値として、番組情報に含まれて配信される各番組の画質に関する情報を用い、これに基づいて、番組表で選択された番組に対して、当該選択番組と同一内容の番組で、かつ放送画質の高い他の番組を表示するようにしたものである。

次に本実施の形態３の情報表示装置の動作を図１０に示すフローチャートを参照しつつ説明する。
まずステップ１において、番組情報記憶手段９１は番組情報を受けて、図３に示すような番組情報を記憶する。ここで、画質の良さを判断する画質値は０から１０までの整数値とし、数値が大きいほど画質が良いとする。ステップ２において、番組表提供手段９２は記憶している番組情報を番組表としてモニタ９３に提供する。本実施の形態では例えば、図４のように、３チャンネルの２時間分のスケジュールを番組表としてモニタ９３に表示する。図４に示すように、通常番組表には番組タイトル（番組名）が表示される。ステップ３において、カーソル提供手段９４で提供されるカーソルの位置をカーソル位置検出手段９５で検出し、番組選択手段９６でカーソル位置にある番組を選択する。本実施の形態では、番組表中の「番組Ａ」が選択されたとする。ここで選択された「番組Ａ」の画質値は５である。ステップ４において、高画質番組提供手段９７は選択した番組と番組タイトル（番組名）が全く同じである番組、すなわち番組名が「番組Ａ」である番組を番組情報記憶手段９１に記憶している番組情報から検索する。さらに検索された同一番組名の番組の中から画質値が大きい値（５より大きい値）をもつ番組を選択し、モニタ９３にそれを提供する。例えば図１１のように、モニタ９３には同一番組名「番組Ａ」をもち、かつ画質値が５より良い画質をもつ他の番組が表示される。

このように、本実施の形態３による情報表示装置では、受信した番組情報を記憶する番組情報記憶手段９１と、番組情報記憶手段９１に記憶された番組情報に基づいて番組表を作成し、この番組表をモニタ９３上に提供する番組表提供手段９２と、番組表上にカーソルを提供する手段カーソル提供手段９４と、カーソルの番組表上の位置を検出するカーソル位置検出手段９５と、検出されたカーソル位置にある番組を選択する番組選択手段９６と、番組情報記憶手段９１に番組情報が記憶された番組の中から、番組選択手段９６により選択された番組と同一の内容の他の番組を検索し、検出された他の番組のうちその放送画質が高い番組についての情報を提供する番組情報提供手段（高画質番組提供手段）９７とを備えた構成としたから、選択した番組と同じ内容の番組を探し、さらにその検索した番組を番組の画質を考慮して絞り込むことができ、視聴者が見たい番組でもっと画質のきれいなものを容易に提供することができる。

なお、本実施の形態では、高画質番組提供手段９７が、番組タイトル（番組名）のマッチングで同一内容の番組を検索していたが、番組タイトル以外の、番組内容，出演者などの他の番組情報を用いて同一内容の番組を検索するようにしてもよい。

また、画質値として０から１０までの整数値を用いその数値が大きいほど画質が良いとしたが、数値が小さいほど画質が良いとしてもよく、また、画質値として０から１０までの整数値を用いていたが、数値の大小が判別できればどのような範囲の数値を用いてもよい。また、画質値として０から１０までの整数値を用いていたが、受信した放送画像の圧縮率を用いてもよい。また、画質値として０から１０までの整数値を用いていたが、その他画質の良し悪しを表現する数値あるいは記号を用いてもよい。
