Abstract

The present invention aims to provide a ticket that displays a predetermined code used for authentication of boarding, riding, or entry, and that can more efficiently prevent fraudulent use.

Description

This invention relates to a ticket that displays a specific code used to authenticate boarding, boarding, or entry.

Traditionally, magnetic memory cards were the mainstream for tickets such as commuter passes, but in recent years, cards equipped with IC chips (IC cards) have become the mainstream. On the other hand, tickets that are based on a single ride over a specified section, shareholder coupons that can be used as train tickets, admission tickets to specified events, and other tickets are based on a single use or short-term use, so from a cost perspective it is difficult or uneconomical to use IC cards.

From this perspective, tickets have become known that are formed in a sheet shape and have a ticket body with a display section on one side on which a code (specifically, a one-dimensional or two-dimensional barcode such as a QR code (registered trademark)) is printed (displayed) (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

The tickets in the above document only require the code to be displayed by printing or other methods, making it possible to keep costs lower than using IC cards or magnetic memory cards, and by managing the information embedded in the QR code over a network, it is possible to prevent fraudulent use to a certain extent.

On the other hand, the tickets in the above document only have a QR code printed on them, so if the code is photographed, it can be used illegally by others, and further measures are needed to prevent unauthorized use.

Figure 1 is a front view of a ticket. The ticket comprises a ticket body 1 made of paper, resin, or the like, formed in a rectangular sheet (thin plate) with the vertical direction being the longitudinal direction (vertical), and a concealment sticker (concealment part) 2 made of paper, resin, or the like. It is of course possible to use a horizontally long ticket body 1.

Here, the thickness direction of the ticket is defined as the front-to-rear direction, and the front side of the front and back sides of the ticket is defined as the front side. A display section 3 is provided near the center of one side of the ticket body 1, on which a QR code (code) C used for authentication of boarding, boarding, or entry is printed (displayed). In this example, the QR code C printed on the ticket is read by a reading device such as a reader for an automatic ticket gate installed at the ticket gate of a train station, etc., and is used to determine whether or not entry into the station premises or permission to exit the station is granted. Incidentally, in this example, this ticket is used as a one-day pass.

Incidentally, the price, section, type and other information of the ticket, as well as the names and images of railway companies that can use the ticket, etc., are printed and displayed as appropriate on parts other than the display section 3 on one or both sides of the ticket body 1.

The display unit 3 is provided with an adjustment unit 3a, which is a semi-concealed unit formed by painting a square-shaped area with light black ink, including three reference areas C1, C2, and C3 that allow the reader to recognize the orientation of the QR code C within its range, and also including the area surrounding the QR code C.

The characters, symbols, and images displayed (printed) within the range of this adjustment section 3a cannot be recognized by a normal camera, and only a dedicated machine such as the above-mentioned reading device can recognize the characters, symbols, and images displayed in the investigation section 3a. Also, for the same reason, even if a part of the display section 3 is copied using a normal printing machine, it will be printed in black and the QR code C cannot be reproduced.

Incidentally, this display unit 3 is set in the same or approximately the same range as the QR code C, or in a rectangular range that includes and is wider than the printed range of the QR code C (in the illustrated example, a square range that includes the QR code C and the adjustment unit 3a).

The concealment sticker 2 has a rectangular main body 4 sized and shaped to conceal an area including the display 3 on one side of the ticket body 1 (in this example, an area slightly larger than the display 3), and a knob (holding portion) 6 that extends integrally from the separation side, which is one of the left and right sides of the main body 4 (the left side in the example shown).

The concealment sticker 2 is made of a flexibly deformable material. In this example, the main body 4 is molded into a rectangular shape similar to the shape of the concealed area 1a in the ticket body 1, which includes the display area 3 and is the area to be concealed by the concealment sticker 2, and an adhesive layer (not shown) is formed on the surface facing the ticket body 1.

The gripping portion 6 is a rectangular piece that protrudes from the lower area (specifically, the lower half) of the edge of the main body 4 on the separation side toward the separation side. Note that the position, size, and range of the gripping portion 6 are not limited to this.

The concealment sticker 2 conceals the QR code C printed thereon by removably attaching the main body 4 to the concealment area R of the ticket body 1 via the adhesive layer described above. At this time, since no adhesive layer is formed on the surface of the gripping part 6 that faces the ticket body 1, the gripping part 6 is not adhered to the ticket body 1, but is in a slightly floating state or in a partially or entirely non-adhesive contact state.

Therefore, the concealment sticker 2 can be separated from the ticket body 1 by pinching (holding) the non-adhesive portion, the gripping portion 6, and peeling it off from the ticket body 1. During this process, the concealment sticker 2 is gradually peeled off from the ticket body 1 from the separation side toward the opposite side, and the previously concealed QR code C is switched to a state where it is exposed and can be read by the reading device.

While peeling off the concealment sticker 2, the ticket body 1 is held with the hand opposite to that holding the concealment sticker 2. At this time, if the reference portion 7A, which is the upper or lower (lower in the illustrated example) portion of the periphery of the ticket body 1 and located on the separation side (in the illustrated example, the lower left corner 7 of the four corners 7), is held, the peeling off operation can be carried out smoothly.

For this reason, the reference portion 7A is formed into a shape that is distinguishable from the other parts of the periphery of the ticket body 1 other than the reference portion 7A. Specifically, the corners 7 other than the reference portion 7A are rounded and the four sides 8 other than the four corners 7 of the ticket body 1 are formed in a straight line, whereas the reference portion 7A is formed into a chamfered shape (a shape that is inclined relative to the two adjacent sides 8), thereby making the reference portion 7A distinguishable from the other parts of the periphery of the ticket body 1 other than the reference portion 7A.

With a ticket configured as described above, when a person (user) who wishes to use the ticket holds the reference portion 7A of the ticket with the hand on the separated side, such as by pinching it, the side on which the display portion 3 of the ticket is displayed faces the user and the width and overall length of the ticket are switched to the orientation intended by the designer (in this example, the width faces left and right and the overall length faces up and down; hereafter referred to as the "reference orientation"). This makes it easy to switch to the reference orientation without visually checking the ticket, and makes it easy for visually impaired people as well as able-bodied people to use the ticket.

Once the ticket has been switched to the standard position and is being held by the hand on the separation side (in this example, the left hand), the operator can hold the gripping portion 6 with the hand on the opposite side to the separation side (in this example, the right hand) and peel off the concealment sticker 2 from the ticket body 1, allowing the operation to be performed smoothly.

The concealment sticker 2 does not necessarily have to conceal the QR code C to the extent that it cannot be seen with the naked eye; it only needs to conceal it to the extent that it cannot be read by the reading device and cannot be copied by a copy machine, and it is possible for it to be transparent to that extent.

The code may also be a two-dimensional barcode other than QR code C, a one-dimensional barcode, or any other code that consists of a string of alphanumeric characters.

The adhesive layer may also be colored so that when the concealment sticker 2 is peeled off from the ticket body 1, part of it will become a pattern or letters, etc., and remain on the ticket body 1 or the concealment sticker 2, leaving evidence that the ticket has been used once. This makes it possible to prevent a ticket that has already been used from being resold at a ticket shop, online auction, etc.

In addition, the shape of the ticket body 1 is not limited to a square, and various other shapes such as polygons and circles can be adopted.

In addition, when the concealment sticker 2 is attached to the ticket body 1, the knob portion 6 may be extended further toward the separation side and protrude outward from the separation side end of the ticket body 1.

In addition, the concealment sticker 2 is generally detachable from the ticket body 1, but a portion of it may be attached and fixed to the ticket body 1 in a manner that makes it difficult to separate, allowing it to be partially detached.

Furthermore, the shape of the reference portion 7A is not limited to a chamfered shape, but may be any shape that can be distinguished from the shape of the reference portion 7A at the periphery of the ticket body 1. For example, only the reference portion 7A may be left as a 90° corner portion with respect to the other R-shaped corner portions 7.

A display section 3 on which a code such as a QR code C is displayed may also be provided on both sides of the ticket body 1, in which case reference sections 7A, 7A are provided separately on each of the left and right sides of the lower side of the ticket body 1. Each reference section 7A is formed in a shape that allows it to be distinguished from other parts of the peripheral portion of the ticket body 1; for example, if one of the left and right reference sections 7A, 7A is formed in a chamfered shape, the other may be a sharp 90° corner.

In addition, since the user only needs to know the placement pattern of the reference portion 7A in advance, it is also possible to place it on the upper or lower side of the periphery of the ticket body 1 (the lower side in the illustrated example) and on the side opposite the separation side.

Next, with reference to Figures 2 to 6, we will explain another embodiment of the ticket, focusing on the differences from the above embodiment.

Figure 2 is a front view of a ticket according to another embodiment, Figure 3 is a front view showing the ticket of Figure 2 with the QR code partially exposed, Figure 4 is a rear view of the ticket of Figure 2, and Figures 5 and 6 are front and rear views showing the ticket of Figure 2 in an unfolded state.

The ticket of this embodiment has a pair of sheet-like portions 1, 9 formed in a sheet shape. In the illustrated example, a sheet of paper or resin material 11 is folded in half along a vertical line located in the left-right center as crease 11a to form the pair of sheet-like portions 1, 9. The two sheet-like portions 1, 9 are folded in half and the opposing surfaces (adhesive surfaces) 11b, 11c are adhered to each other to form the ticket.

With the above-mentioned structure, one sheet-like portion 1 is the above-mentioned ticket body, and the other sheet-like portion 9 is a concealing sheet-like portion that conceals the QR code C displayed on the display portion 3 of the ticket body 1.

The concealing section 2 is a rectangular area in the concealing side sheet-like portion 9 that includes the portion that covers and conceals the display portion 3 and is long in the left-right direction (horizontally elongated). The boundary 12 between the concealing section 2 and the other portions in the concealing side sheet-like portion 9 is disposed toward one side of the left or right side of the concealing side sheet-like portion 9. In the illustrated example, the rectangular boundary 12 that is long in the left-right direction is disposed opposite the fold 11a in the concealing side sheet-like portion 9.

Here, the side of the concealing-side sheet-like portion 9 to which the boundary 12 is brought closer (the left side in the illustrated example) is defined as the separation side. The end of the separation side of the boundary 12 reaches the edge of the separation side of the concealing-side sheet-like portion 9. Therefore, the boundary 12 is U-shaped with the separation side open, and at least a part of it becomes the separation portions 12a, 12b that separate the concealing portion 2 from the other portions of the concealing-side sheet-like portion 9.

In more detail, of the three sides 12a, 12b, and 12c that make up the U-shaped boundary 12, the pair of opposing sides 12a and 12b are the separation parts described above, and the side 12c that connects the ends of the pair of separation parts 12a and 12b on the opposite side to the separation side is the fold. In the illustrated example, these separation parts 12a and 12b are formed by perforations that separate the concealment part 2 in the concealment side sheet-like part 9 from the rest of the part.

The area on the adhesive surface 11b of the ticket body 1 that includes the display section 3 and is concealed by the concealing section 2 is defined as the concealed area 1a. In the upper and lower central areas (separation side portion) of the edge of the separation side described above, which is the side farther from the fold 11a of the ticket body 1, an exposed section 1b adjacent to the concealed area 1a is formed in a notch shape. The exposed section 1b exposes at least the separation side end (separation side portion) of the concealing section 2 when the pair of sheet-like sections 1, 9 are adhered together to form the ticket.

When the ticket body 1 and the concealing side sheet-like portion 9 are folded over each other, the left and right edges and the lower edge are flush with each other except for the exposed portion 1b, while the upper edge of the ticket body 1 protrudes upward in the left-right direction over the entire length of the concealing side sheet-like portion 9. Note that the protrusion direction is not limited to the upward direction, but may be downward or to one side of the left or right.

In addition, the lower and left/right separated portions of the periphery of the ticket body 1 (specifically, the lower left corner 7) are formed in a shape that can be distinguished from the other portions of the periphery (specifically, the other corners 7 and the four sides 8) (in the illustrated example, the same shape as that shown in FIG. 1), thereby forming the above-mentioned reference portion 7A.

On the other hand, the lower left and right corners 13, 13 and left and right sides 14, 14 that form part of the periphery of the concealed side sheet-like portion 9 coincide with the left and right corners 7, 7 and sides 8, 8 of the ticket body 1 when the pair of sheet-like portions 1, 9 are folded over, so that these parts are molded into the same or approximately the same shape as the ticket body 1.

That is, in the concealed sheet-like portion 9, when the pair of sheet-like portions 1, 9 are folded over, the corner portion 13 located on the lower side and on the separation side is formed in the same shape as the reference portion 7A and becomes the reference portion 13A that allows the orientation of the ticket to be recognized.

The two sheet-like parts 1, 9 are adhered by adhesive layers 16, 17 formed on their respective adhesive surfaces 11b, 11c. As shown by the phantom lines in Figure 5, the adhesive layers 16, 17 are formed in two areas of the sheet material 11 that avoid the fold 11a, the concealment part 2, and the concealed area 1a.

That is, the ticket is manufactured by folding the two sheet-like portions 1, 9 in half, and then gluing the two adhesive surfaces 11b, 11c together except for the concealed portion 2 and the concealed area 1a with adhesive layers 16, 17.

With the reference parts 7A and 13A held in the hand on the separation side, the part exposed by the exposed part 1b of the concealing part 2 is held in the hand opposite the separation side, and the concealing part 2 is separated from the separation side, exposing the display part 3 and making it possible to visually check the code C. At this time, the sheet-like concealing part 2 can be folded at the fold 12c to fold the part of the sheet-like part 9 on the concealing side other than the concealing part 2, effectively preventing the concealing part 2 from getting in the way.

With the above-mentioned configuration, if the sheet material 11 shown in Figures 5 and 6 is made by punching out the boundary 12, the ticket is manufactured through the above-mentioned process, which makes it possible to reduce material costs and, since the number of processes is small, it is easy to keep manufacturing costs low.

In addition, each of a pair of separately formed sheet materials (not shown) may be a sheet-like portion. In this case, the ticket is formed by adhering the pair of separately formed sheet-like portions together with maximum overlapping.

The separation parts 12a and 12b may also be formed by a half-cut groove cut into the thickness direction of the concealment side sheet-like part 9, a slit-shaped cut part cut into a part of the entire length of the separation parts 12a and 12b, or a combination of these.

The opposite side of the fold 11a may also be cut in half along its entire length in the thickness direction to make it easier to fold.

Furthermore, all three sides 12a, 12b, and 12c of the boundary 12 may be separation parts. In this case, it is not necessary to extend the concealing part 2 (boundary 12) to the edge of the separation side of the concealing side sheet-like part 9, and it is also possible to position the concealing part 2 (boundary 12) in the center in the left-right direction, in which case the concealing part 2 can be entirely separated from the ticket body 1.
