Description
しくは基油,特定のヒンダードフェノール化合物,特定
のアルキル化ジフェニルアミン化合物及びホウ素系コハ
ク酸イミド化合物を主成分とし、耐熱性及び耐酸化安定
性に優れ、特にミスト状で高温に曝されるトラクション
油や圧縮機油などとして長時間安定に作動する潤滑油組
成物に関する。
自動車用トラクションドライブ無段変速機(CVT)
は、伝達動力の大容量化に加え、小型化ならびにメイン
テナンスフリー化の動向にある。この動向に伴って、潤
滑油には耐熱性や耐高温酸化安定性が要求されてきてお
り、年々その要求レベルは高くなっている。従来は、い
わゆる液相部の耐熱性や耐高温酸化安定性を確保するこ
とを主体に研究開発が進められてきたが、これまでに開
発されている潤滑油では、気相部での熱劣化や酸化劣化
を抑制することは困難であった。
課題を解消し、気相部での耐熱性や耐高温酸化安定性を
向上させ、トラクション油やスクリュー式またはロータ
リー式圧縮機油等として長時間安定に作動する潤滑油組
成物を開発すべく鋭意研究を重ねた。その結果、基油に
特定のヒンダードフェノール化合物,特定のアルキル化
ジフェニルアミン化合物及びホウ素系コハク酸イミド化
合物を配合することによって、所期の目的を達成できる
ことを見出した。本発明は、このような知見に基いて完
成したものである。
(A)鉱油及び/又は合成油からなる基油,(B)式
されるヒンダードフェノール化合物0.2〜2.0重量%,
(C)一般式
れぞれ水素あるいは炭素数1〜20のアルキル基を示
す。ただし、R1 〜R4 のうちの少なくとも一つはアル
キル基である。)で表わされるアルキル化ジフェニルア
ミン化合物0.2〜2.0重量%及び(D)ホウ素系コハク
酸イミド化合物0.2〜10.0重量%の割合で、かつ
(B)ヒンダードフェノール化合物に対して(C)アル
キル化ジフェニルアミン化合物を重量比で0.6〜1.6と
するとともに、(B)ヒンダードフェノール化合物と
(C)アルキル化ジフェニルアミン化合物の合計割合が
1.0〜3.5重量%となるように配合してなるトラクショ
ンドライブ用流体を提供するものである。
を構成する基油には、各種の鉱油あるいは合成油を用い
ることができる。また、鉱油と合成油を併用することも
できる。ここで鉱油としては各種のものが使用できる
が、特にナフテン系鉱油を好適なものとしてあげること
ができる。なお、パラフィン系鉱油や中間系鉱油であっ
ても、核水添−深脱ロウ処理により精製した比較的ナフ
テン分が多いものも同様に好適なものとしてあげること
ができる。一方、合成油としては、様々なものがあり、
例えば脂環系炭化水素,縮合脂環系炭化水素,橋頭脂環
系炭化水素,ポリブテン,ポリオレフィン(ポリα−オ
レフィンなど)、さらにはポリオールエステルや二塩基
酸エステルなどのエステル,アルキルベンゼン,リン酸
エステル等をあげることができ、そのうちナフテン環含
有合成油やポリブテン等を好適なものとしてあげること
ができる。これら好適なものとして挙げた鉱油あるいは
合成油には、添加剤の溶解性が良好である、系内に
発生するカーボンスラッジが柔軟であって剥落しやす
い、トラクション係数が高いなどの利点がある。
を構成するヒンダードフェノール化合物は、前述の式
(I)又は(II)で表されるものである。また、この式
(I),(II)で表される化合物を併用することもでき
る。
するアルキル化ジフェニルアミン化合物は、前述の一般
式(III) で表されるものである。式中、R1 ,R2 ,R
3 及びR4 は、それぞれ水素あるいは炭素数1〜20の
アルキル基、好ましくは炭素数3〜12のアルキル基を
示す。ただし、R1 〜R4 のうちの少なくとも一つはア
ルキル基である(つまり、R1 〜R4 のすべてが同時に
水素である場合は除く)。例えば、R1 及びR2 がそ
れぞれ炭素数3〜9のアルキル基(複数のアルキル基の
混合物を含む)であって、R3 及びR4 がそれぞれ水素
である化合物、R1 〜R3 がそれぞれ炭素数4〜8の
アルキル基(複数のアルキル基の混合物を含む)であっ
て、R4 が水素である化合物、R1 のみが炭素数6〜
12のアルキル基(複数のアルキル基の混合物を含む)
であって、R2 〜R4 がそれぞれ水素である化合物が挙
げられる。
(B)成分と(C)成分の配合割合は特に制限はなく、
状況に応じて適宜選定すればよいが、通常は組成物全体
に対して(B)成分0.2〜2.0重量%、好ましくは0.5
〜1.5重量%とし、(C)成分0.2〜2.0重量%、好ま
しくは0.5〜1.5重量%とする。(B)成分あるいは
(C)成分の配合割合が少ないと、所期の目的を達成で
きない場合があり、逆に多すぎても、配合量に相当する
効果の向上は認められない。また、(B)成分と(C)
成分の配合割合は、特に制限はないが、好ましくは
(B)成分に対して(C)成分を重量比で0.6〜1.6、
特に0.8〜1.5に選定する。これら(B)成分と(C)
成分は、それぞれ上述した配合割合で加えることが好ま
しいが、さらに両成分の合計割合については、好ましく
は1.0〜3.5重量%、特に好ましくは1.4〜2.5重量%
の範囲で選定する。
を構成するホウ素系コハク酸イミド化合物については、
様々なものがあるが、例えばコハク酸イミド化合物を
ホウ素化合物と反応させて得られる反応生成物あるいは
アミン化合物にホウ素化合物を反応させ、次いでコハ
ク酸誘導体を反応させて得られる反応生成物などが充当
される。上記の反応生成物は、コハク酸イミド化合物
とホウ素化合物と反応させることによって得られるが、
ここでコハク酸イミド化合物としては、例えばポリアル
キレンポリアミン(アミン化合物)とアルケニルコハク
酸又はその誘導体(コハク酸誘導体)とを反応させるこ
とによって製造される様々なものが使用可能である。こ
のコハク酸イミド化合物の製造に供されるポリアルキレ
ンポリアミンとしては、アルキレンがエチレン,プロピ
レン,ブチレン等によって様々なものがある。その中で
は、アルキレンがエチレンであるポリエチレンポリアミ
ンがその代表例である。ポリエチレンポリアミンは、一
般式(A) NH2 [(CH2)2 NH]a H ・・・(A) (式中、aは1〜6の整数を示す。)で表され、n個の
アミノ基を有する(ただし、n=a+1)。
アミンとしては、その代表例としては、a=4に相当す
るテトラエチレンペンタミンを挙げることができる。そ
の他、エチレンジアミン,ジエチレントリアミン,トリ
エチレンテトラミン,ペンタエチレンヘキサミン等があ
る。また、ポリアルキレンポリアミンには、上記ポリエ
チレンポリアミンの他にポリプロピレンポリアミン,ポ
リブチレンポリアミン等がある。これらのポリアルキレ
ンポリアミンは、それぞれ単独であるいは任意の割合で
組合せて混合使用することができる。また、アルケニル
コハク酸又はその誘導体(例えば、無水物)としては、
様々なものが使用可能である。そのなかで、例えば、ア
ルケニル基が、炭素数2〜5のモノオレフィンの重合
体,特にポリイソブテニル基を有するもので、数平均分
子量500〜5,000、好ましくは800〜2,500の
数平均分子量を有するポリイソブテンから誘導されるポ
リイソブテニルコハク酸無水物が実用的である。その他
のアルケニル基としては、エチレン,プロピレン等の重
合体又は共重合体もしくはイソブテンとエチレン,プロ
ピレンとの共重合体等を挙げることができる。このアル
ケニルコハク酸又はその誘導体を製造するには、例え
ば、ポリイソブテニルコハク酸無水物についてみると、
先ず、ポリイソブテン1モルに対して無水マレイン酸1
〜1.5モルを加え、触媒を添加して150〜280℃で
マレイン化を行う。次いで、マレイン化後、未反応のマ
レイン酸を減圧脱気し、ケイソウ土を添加して濾過する
ことによりポリイソブテニルコハク酸の無水物を得るこ
とができる。
せるホウ素化合物についても各種のものがあるが、通常
はホウ酸,ホウ酸塩あるいはホウ酸エステルなどから適
宜選定使用すればよい。なお、の反応生成物を製造す
る際に用いるアミン化合物,ホウ素化合物及びコハク酸
誘導体についても、上述したものの中から選定すること
が好ましい。本発明の潤滑油組成物においては、上記
(D)成分の配合割合は特に制限はないが、好ましくは
0.2〜10.0重量%、より好ましくは0.2〜5.0重量%
である。
(A)〜(D)成分を必須成分として含有するものであ
るが、さらに必要に応じて従来の潤滑油に使用されてい
る各種の添加剤を適量配合することができる。このよう
な添加剤としては、例えば極圧剤,防錆剤,清浄分散
剤,粘度指数向上剤,消泡剤,金属不活性化剤,油性
剤,酸化防止剤,耐摩耗添加剤等を挙げることができ
る。ここで極圧剤としては、リン酸トリクレジル(トリ
クレジルホスフェート)等のリン酸エステル化合物、硫
化オレフィン等の硫黄含有化合物、さらには亜鉛ジチオ
ホスフェート(ZnDTP),モリブデンジチオホスフ
ェート(MoDTP),モリブデンジチオカーバメート
(MoDTC)などがある。また、防錆剤としては、ア
ルケニルコハク酸エステル,スルホン酸のアルカリ(土
類)金属塩などがあり、清浄分散剤としては、スルホネ
ート類,フェネート類,サリチレート類,酸アミド類,
イミド類などが挙げられる。さらに、粘度指数向上剤と
しては、ポリメタクリレート(PMA)あるいはエチレ
ン−プロピレン共重合体やスチレン−ジエン水素化共重
合体などのオレフィン系共重合体(OCP)などがあ
り、消泡剤としては、シリコーン系やアルコール系など
の化合物があり、また金属不活性化剤としては、ベンゾ
トリアゾール,アルキルベンゾトリアゾールなどを挙げ
ることができる。

安定性及び油相部酸化安定性を下記の方法により測定し
た。結果を第1表に示す。試験方法 JIS K 2540の潤滑油熱安定度試験方法に準拠
した。具体的な操作としては、まず油量20gを規定ガ
ラス容器に採り、触媒としてJIS K 2514の潤
滑油酸化安定度試験方法3.2項タービン油酸化安定度試
験方法に規定の銅線(φ1.6×10cm)を油中に浸漬
し、アルミホイル(市販品をn−ヘキサンで洗浄したも
の使用)で蓋をした。次に、170℃に加熱して12時
間毎に取り出し、気相部及び液相部を目視観察し、ワニ
ス状物質の付着及び油中不溶物質の析出が認められた時
間から気相部酸化安定性及び油相部酸化安定性を評価し
た。 気相部酸化安定性:(i)ガラス容器の気相部にワニス
状物質の付着が認められた時間(気相部安定性(i)) (ii)アルミホイルにワニス状物質の付着が認められた
時間(気相部安定性(ii)) 油相部酸化安定性:油中にスラッジ(不溶物質)の析出
が認められた時間評価 上記の三項目の安定性のうち、いずれか一項目でもワニ
ス状物質の付着あるいはスラッジの析出が認められる
と、その時間を評価時間とした。この時間が長い程、優
れた特性を有していると評価した。なお、目視観察は1
44時間で打ち切った。
油組成物を用いると、油の気相部での熱劣化や酸化劣化
が抑制され、またCVT等の装置各部へのワニス状物質
の付着や油中スラッジの生成が効果的に抑制される。し
たがって、本発明の潤滑油組成物は、120℃以上の高
温環境下でミスト状になって潤滑される装置に好適に用
いられ、特にトラクション油(トラクションドライブ用
流体)やスクリュー式やロータリー式圧縮機の圧縮機油
等として有効に利用される。
Claims (2)
- 【請求項1】 (A)鉱油及び/又は合成油からなる基
油,(B)式 【化1】 (式中、mは1〜5の整数である。)で表されるヒンダ
ードフェノール化合物0.2〜2.0重量%,(C)一般式 【化2】 (式中、R1 ,R2 ,R3 及びR4 は、それぞれ水素あ
るいは炭素数1〜20のアルキル基を示す。ただし、R
1 〜R4 のうちの少なくとも一つはアルキル基であ
る。)で表わされるアルキル化ジフェニルアミン化合物
0.2〜2.0重量%及び(D)ホウ素系コハク酸イミド化
合物0.2〜10.0重量%の割合で、かつ(B)ヒンダー
ドフェノール化合物に対して(C)アルキル化ジフェニ
ルアミン化合物を重量比で0.6〜1.6とするとともに、
(B)ヒンダードフェノール化合物と(C)アルキル化
ジフェニルアミン化合物の合計割合が1.0〜3.5重量%
となるように配合してなるトラクションドライブ用流
体。 - 【請求項2】 (A)基油がナフテン系鉱油,ナフテン
環含有合成油あるいはポリブテンである請求項1記載の
トラクションドライブ用流体。
