Description

An embodiment of the present invention relates to a lighting device.

Conventionally, in lighting fixtures that are installed on a mounting surface such as a ceiling or wall, a light-transmitting cover that covers a light source attached to the fixture body is attached to the fixture body installed on the mounting surface using mounting screws.

The light-transmitting cover houses the fixture body in its opening and is attached to the fixture body by inserting mounting screws through the side of the cover. This can result in a gap between the periphery of the opening and the installation surface. In this case, wind can enter the inside of the light-transmitting cover through the gap, pushing the light-transmitting cover from the inside and causing it to rattle, placing a load on the screw-insertion points of the light-transmitting cover through which the mounting screws are inserted. For this reason, it is desirable to reduce the rattle of the light-transmitting cover in order to prevent load from being applied to the screw-insertion points of the light-transmitting cover.

One embodiment will be described below with reference to Figures 1 to 5.

The lighting device 10 is a long, moisture-proof and rain-proof lighting device that is installed on an installation surface 11 such as a ceiling or wall. The lighting device 10 comprises a light source 12, a fixture body 13, a light-transmitting cover 14, and a covering body 15. In the lighting device 10, the light source 12 itself has a moisture-proof and rain-proof structure, and by using this light source 12, no moisture-proof and rain-proof structure is provided between the fixture body 13 and the light-transmitting cover 14, etc.

The light source 12 is long and has a moisture-proof and rain-proof structure. Inside a cylindrical enclosure 20 that is optically transparent at least in the light irradiation direction, the light source 12 houses a light source module 21 (not shown), which is a light source unit having multiple light-emitting elements such as LEDs, and a power supply unit 22 that converts external power input from the outside into a predetermined lighting power and supplies it to the multiple light-emitting elements, and both ends of the enclosure 20 are sealed by caps 23. A wire with one end connected to the external power input unit of the power supply unit 22 is pulled out from one of the caps 23 through a packing, and the other end of this wire is connected to a power line that supplies external power at the installation site.

The fixture body 13 is formed long and made of, for example, a metal plate. The fixture body 13 is installed on the installation surface 11 via the cover 15.

The device body 13 has a rectangular, flat body portion 30 and side edge portions 31 provided on both sides of the short side of the body portion 30 that intersects with the long side.

The main body 30 is provided with multiple semicircular projections 32 protruding from the rear side, multiple mounting holes 33 for mounting to multiple bolts protruding from the installation surface 11, and wiring holes 34 through which the wiring drawn from the light source 12 can be inserted.

The side edge 31 is bent so as to protrude in an approximately V-shape toward the front side of the main body 30, with the tip protruding from the rear side of the main body 30. The side edge 31 and the protruding part 32 have approximately the same protruding dimension from the rear side of the main body 30, and are capable of abutting against the cover 15 (or the installation surface 11 if the cover 15 is not used).

A pedestal 35 is attached to the front side of the main body 30 at both longitudinal ends of the fixture body 13. The pedestal 35 is provided with a screw mounting portion 37 having a screw hole 36 for screwing the translucent cover 14 facing the end face side of the fixture body 13. In addition, a pair of mounting springs 38 are attached to the pedestal 35 to detachably hold the light source 12 attached to the fixture body 13.

The translucent cover 14 is formed into a long length from a resin material having translucency, for example, a milky white color. The translucent cover 14 houses and covers the fixture body 13 installed on the installation surface 11 and the light source 12 arranged on the fixture body 13, and is removably attached to the fixture body 13.

The translucent cover 14 is box-shaped and has a front portion 40, side portions 41 on both sides of the front portion 40 in the short direction, and end portions 42 on both ends of the front portion 40 in the long direction, and an opening 43 is formed on the back side.

The opening 43 of the translucent cover 14 and the peripheral portion 44 that forms this opening 43 are larger than the outer shape of the device body 13, allowing the device body 13 to be inserted and accommodated in the opening 43, and allowing the peripheral portion 44 to be positioned around the device body 13.

The side surfaces 41 on both sides are formed as inclined surfaces so that they taper toward the front surface 40, or so that they widen from the front surface 40 toward the opening 43.

The end surface portions 42 at both ends are formed substantially perpendicular to the front surface portion 40. At the peripheral portion 44 of the opening 43, the end surface portions 42 at both ends have mounting holes 46 through which mounting screws 45, such as decorative screws, for attaching the translucent cover 14 to the fixture body 13 are inserted. At the time of installation, with the fixture body 13 housed in the opening 43, the mounting holes 46 face substantially coaxially to the screw holes 36 of the screw mounting portion 37 of the fixture body 13, so that the mounting screws 45 inserted through the mounting holes 46 can be screwed into the screw holes 36 of the screw mounting portion 37. Furthermore, at the end surface portions 42 at both ends, near the front surface portion 40, drainage holes 47 are formed for draining rainwater, etc., that has entered the translucent cover 14.

The cover 15 is formed into a long shape, for example from a metal plate. When the device body 13 is installed on the installation surface 11, the cover 15 is interposed between the installation surface 11 and the device body 13.

The cover body 15 has an installation portion 50 and cover portions 51 and 52 that are raised from the periphery of the installation portion 50.

The installation section 50 is a rectangular flat plate, and is formed to be larger than the longitudinal and lateral dimensions of the fixture body 13 and the translucent cover 14. The installation section 50 is provided with mounting holes 53 and wiring holes 54 corresponding to the positions of the mounting holes 33 and wiring holes 34 of the fixture body 13. Furthermore, the installation section 50 is formed with a plurality of opposing holes 55 corresponding to the positions of the plurality of protrusions 32 of the fixture body 13.

The cover parts 51 on both sides of the installation part 50 in the short direction are bent toward the front side and raised, and the cover parts 52 on both sides of the installation part 50 in the long direction are bent toward the front side and raised. The cover parts 51 and 52 are bent, for example, at approximately a right angle from the installation part 50.

The cover parts 51 and 52 cover the periphery of the peripheral part 44 of the translucent cover 14 that is attached to the device body 13 combined with the installation part 50.

The cover parts 51 on both sides face and cover the peripheral parts 44 of the side parts 41 on both sides of the translucent cover 14. A gap part 56 that allows the translucent cover 14 to be attached and detached is formed between the cover parts 51 and the side parts 41. Because the side parts 41 are inclined, the distance of the gap part 56 between the cover parts 51 and the side parts 41 is formed so that it becomes narrower toward the installation part 50, which is the back side, than the opening side of the gap part 56.

The cover portions 51 on both sides may be inclined so as to spread out from the installation portion 50, and may be formed so as to narrow toward the installation portion 50, which is the back side of the opening side of the gap portion 56. In this case, the side portion 41 may or may not be inclined.

The cover parts 52 on both ends face and cover the peripheral parts 44 of the end faces 42 on both ends of the translucent cover 14. There is a gap between the cover parts 52 and the end faces 42 that allows the translucent cover 14 to be attached and detached. The cover parts 52 are positioned approximately parallel to the screw attachment parts 37 of the device body 13 and the end faces 42 of the translucent cover 14.

The center of the cover parts 52 on both ends is provided with a pressing part 57 that protrudes from the installation part 50 more than the cover parts 51 on both ends. The pressing part 57 is provided with an insertion part 59 having an insertion hole 58 through which the mounting screw 45 is inserted.

Next, when installing the lighting device 10 on the installation surface 11, a pair of bolts protruding from the installation surface 11 are inserted into a pair of mounting holes 53 in the cover 15 and a pair of mounting holes 33 in the fixture body 13, and the nuts are screwed and tightened. This allows the fixture body 13 to be installed on the installation surface 11 with the installation section 50 of the cover 15 sandwiched and held between the fixture body 13 and the installation surface 11.

The light source 12 is placed in the fixture body 13 by attaching both ends of the light source 12 to the mounting springs 38 at both ends of the fixture body 13. The wiring drawn from the light source 12 is electrically connected to the power supply line drawn from the installation surface 11 in advance when the fixture body 13 is installed.

The light source 12 and the fixture body 13 are accommodated within the opening 43 of the translucent cover 14. The peripheral portion 44 of the translucent cover 14 is disposed around the fixture body 13 and is disposed inside the covering portions 51 and 52 of the cover body 15, and the tip surface of the peripheral portion 44 abuts against the front side of the installation portion 50 of the cover body 15. In this state, the insertion hole 58 of the cover body, the mounting hole 46 of the translucent cover 14, and the screw hole 36 of the fixture body 13 are disposed on approximately the same axis.

The translucent cover 14 is attached to the fixture body 13 by screwing and tightening the mounting screw 45 through the insertion hole 58 of the cover body and the mounting hole 46 of the translucent cover 14 into the screw hole 36 of the fixture body 13.

In addition, the lighting device 10 is turned on when power is supplied to the light source 12, and light from the light source 12 passes through the translucent cover 14 and is irradiated to the outside.

Even if the lighting device 10 is installed in an environment where wind blows in, the periphery between the installation portion 50 of the cover body 15 and the peripheral portion 44 of the translucent cover 14 is covered by the cover portions 51 and 52 of the cover body 15, so that wind entering the inside of the translucent cover 14 can be reduced. This reduces the risk of wind entering the inside of the translucent cover 14, which would cause the translucent cover 14 to be pushed from the inside and become loose, and therefore reduces the load on the mounting hole 46 of the translucent cover 14 through which the mounting screw 45 is inserted.

In addition, because the cover portion 52 is provided with an insertion portion 59 through which the mounting screw 45 passes, the tightening force of the mounting screw 45 is received by the cover portion 52, and the force applied to the translucent cover 14 can be reduced, and the load on the mounting hole 46 of the translucent cover 14 through which the mounting screw 45 passes can be further reduced.

In addition, the gap 56 between the side portions 41 on both sides of the translucent cover 14 and the cover portion 51 of the cover body 15 is formed so that it narrows toward the installation portion 50, which is the back side of the opening side of the gap 56. This makes it difficult for wind to enter the gap 56, reducing rattling of the translucent cover 14, while also making it easier for rainwater or the like to flow out of the gap 56 even if it does enter the gap 5.

By inclining the side portions 41 on both sides of the translucent cover 14, the above-mentioned gap 56 relationship can be realized, and rainwater, etc. can easily flow off without remaining on the surface of the side portions 41.

In addition, since the cover 15 is provided separately from the device body 13, it can be used only in installation environments where wind protection is required.

The cover body 15 may be provided integrally with the device body 13, which reduces rattling of the translucent cover 14 and reduces the number of parts.

The cover 15 may also be formed in a frame shape with a large opening on the inside area of the installation section 50.
