Abstract

[Problem] To provide an auxiliary absorbent pad that can be easily attached to the groin area where leakage is particularly likely to occur, causes little discomfort while being worn, and can effectively absorb leakage. [Solution] The present disclosure provides an auxiliary absorbent pad 10 that can be used as an auxiliary when using a disposable diaper, and comprises a pad main body 11 having a liquid-permeable top sheet 14 that is positioned on the skin side when worn, a liquid-impermeable back sheet that is positioned on the non-skin side, and an absorbent body 16 that is positioned between the top sheet 14 and the back sheet, an extension sheet 12 that has an extension portion 17 that extends to one side in the width direction beyond the pad main body 11 and is fixed to the non-skin side of the pad main body 11, and a fastening means 13 that is provided on the skin side of the end portion on the one side in the width direction of the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 and can be fastened to the disposable diaper. Description

This disclosure relates to an auxiliary absorbent pad that absorbs leakage from gaps around the legs of a person wearing a disposable diaper.

Depending on the wearer's condition, it is common to wear a urine-absorbing pad or the like as an inner layer and a pants-type or tape-fastened disposable diaper as an outer layer. The outer disposable diaper covers the wearer's abdomen, back, and crotch area, but for wearers whose legs are thin compared to their physique, excrement is prone to leaking around the legs. There is a marked tendency for the legs of elderly people to become thinner, leading to more leakage around the legs. One example of a solution to this problem is the auxiliary absorbent article described in Patent Document 1.

Patent Document 1 discloses an auxiliary absorbent article that is attached to the leg openings of a disposable diaper. This auxiliary absorbent article is a band-shaped body with both longitudinal ends connected to form a tube, and is used by passing the wearer's legs through one opening and pulling it up until the end of the one opening covers the periphery of the leg opening of the disposable diaper. A diaper connection part that is detachably connected to the periphery of the leg opening of the disposable diaper is provided at the end of one opening, and an opening elastic stretch member is provided at the end of the other opening to fit the end of the other opening to the wearer's thigh, and an absorbent area that absorbs from the inner periphery is provided between the area with the diaper connection part and the area with the opening elastic stretch member.

However, in the case of the auxiliary absorbent article described in Patent Document 1, when wearing the cylindrical auxiliary absorbent article, it is necessary to insert the legs when wearing it, so it cannot be worn without removing the clothes (pants), which is time-consuming. In addition, when wrapping a belt-shaped auxiliary absorbent article around the legs, there is a possibility that a gap will easily occur between the leg opening of the disposable diaper when wearing it, which may lead to leakage, so it is necessary to wrap it so that there is no gap, which is time-consuming to wear. In addition, after the auxiliary absorbent article absorbs urine and the like that has leaked from the leg opening of the disposable diaper, the wearer's thighs may become steamy, which may cause discomfort. In addition, because the auxiliary absorbent article is worn around the legs, it affects the silhouette of the clothes worn over the auxiliary absorbent article, which limits the choice of clothes when wearing the auxiliary absorbent article.

Therefore, the present disclosure aims to provide an auxiliary absorbent pad that can be easily attached to the groin area, which is particularly prone to leakage, causes little discomfort while being worn, and can effectively absorb leakage.

In order to solve the above problems, the first aspect of the present invention is an auxiliary absorbent pad that can be used as an auxiliary when using a disposable diaper, and includes a pad main body having a liquid-permeable top sheet that is positioned on the skin side when worn, a liquid-impermeable back sheet that is positioned on the non-skin side, and an absorbent body that is positioned between the top sheet and the back sheet, an extension sheet that has an extension portion that extends to one side in the width direction beyond the pad main body and is fixed to the non-skin side of the pad main body, and a fastening means that is provided on the skin side of the end of the one side in the width direction of the extension portion of the extension sheet and can be fastened to the disposable diaper.

The second aspect of the present invention is an auxiliary absorbent pad according to the first aspect, in which the edge on one side in the width direction of the pad body is formed in a concave shape with the center side in the longitudinal direction curving toward the other side in the width direction.

The third aspect of the present invention is an auxiliary absorbent pad according to the first or second aspect, in which the extension portion of the extension sheet is provided with slits or perforations extending from the edge of one side in the width direction to the other side in the width direction, and the fastening means is provided in each area of the extension portion divided by the slits or perforations.

The fourth aspect of the present invention is the auxiliary absorbent pad of the first or second aspect, in which the fastening means is a mechanical hook tape.

The fifth aspect of the present invention is an auxiliary absorbent pad according to the first or second aspect, in which the longitudinal dimension of the auxiliary absorbent pad is 100 mm or more and 300 mm or less, and the width dimension of the auxiliary absorbent pad is 50 mm or more and 200 mm or less.

Below, we will explain an auxiliary absorbent pad according to one embodiment of the present invention with reference to the drawings.

In this specification, wearing the auxiliary absorbent pad means the state where the auxiliary absorbent pad is attached to the body by attaching it to the disposable diaper, regardless of whether the auxiliary absorbent pad is before, during, or after the absorption of bodily fluids. The longitudinal direction means the longitudinal direction of the pad body, which is the direction along the front and back of the wearer when the auxiliary absorbent pad is worn, and is the direction along the arrow X in the figure. The width direction means the short side direction of the pad body, which is the direction intersecting (orthogonal to) the longitudinal direction, and is the direction along the arrow Y in the figure. The thickness direction of the auxiliary absorbent pad refers to the direction in which each component is stacked, and is the direction along the arrow Z in the figure. The "front-rear direction" means the front-rear direction of the wearer wearing the auxiliary absorbent pad. The "skin side" of each component of the auxiliary absorbent pad means the direction toward the wearer's body (legs) when the auxiliary absorbent pad is worn in the thickness direction, and is the direction in which the arrow Z in the figure points. The "non-skin side" means the direction opposite to the skin side in the thickness direction, and is the direction opposite to the direction in which the arrow Z in the figure points. Additionally, body fluids refer to liquids that are excreted from the body, such as urine, blood, and water in loose stools.

Figure 1 is a plan view of an auxiliary absorbent pad according to one embodiment of the present invention, viewed from the skin side. Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line II-II in Figure 1. Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view corresponding to Figure 2, showing a modified example of the auxiliary absorbent pad.

[Auxiliary absorbent pad]
The auxiliary absorbent pad 10 according to this embodiment is an auxiliary absorbent pad 10 that can be used as an auxiliary means when using the disposable diaper 1 (see FIG. 4 ) in order to absorb leakage from gaps around the legs of a person wearing the disposable diaper 1. The auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is placed in the groin area of the wearer and fixed to the disposable diaper 1 when in use.

As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 comprises a pad body 11 that absorbs bodily fluids, an extension sheet 12 that extends from the pad body 11 to one side in the width direction (the direction indicated by the arrow Y in the figure), and a fastening means 13 provided on the extension sheet 12. In the following description, the one side in the width direction (the direction indicated by the arrow Y in the figure) will be referred to simply as "the one side", and the other side in the width direction (the direction opposite to the arrow Y in the figure) will be referred to simply as "the other side".

The longitudinal length L1 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 (the longitudinal length of the pad body 11) is preferably 100 mm or more and 300 mm or less. The widthwise length W1 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 (including the widthwise length of the pad body 11 and the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 described later) is preferably 50 mm or more and 200 mm or less. The lower limit of the above range of the longitudinal length L1 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is more preferably 150 mm. The upper limit of the above range of the longitudinal length L1 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is more preferably 180 mm. The lower limit of the above range of the widthwise length W1 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is more preferably 100 mm. The upper limit of the above range of the widthwise length W1 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is more preferably 150 mm.

(Pad body)
1 and 2, the pad body 11 has a liquid-permeable top sheet 14 located on the skin side when worn, a liquid-impermeable back sheet 15 located on the non-skin side when worn, and an absorbent body 16 disposed between the top sheet 14 and the back sheet 15. The top sheet 14 is disposed opposite the back sheet 15 with the absorbent body 16 sandwiched between them. The pad body 11 may have sheets other than the top sheet 14 and the back sheet 15 (for example, a cover sheet that wraps the absorbent body 16).

The shape of the pad body 11 is not particularly limited, but examples include a substantially rectangular shape and an oval shape. Regardless of the shape of the pad body 11, it is preferable that the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 is formed in a concave shape with the center side in the longitudinal direction curved toward the other side. This allows the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 to fit along the leg opening 2 (see FIG. 4) in the groin of the paper diaper 1 when the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is placed on the groin of the wearer, so that leakage of bodily fluids from the paper diaper 1 (hereinafter simply referred to as "leakage") can be suitably absorbed by the pad body 11.

The longitudinal length L1 of the pad body 11 is preferably 100 mm or more and 300 mm or less. The widthwise length W2 of the longest portion of the pad body 11 is preferably 80 mm or more and 120 mm or less. The widthwise length W3 of the shortest portion of the pad body 11 is preferably 50 mm or more and 100 mm or less. By setting the dimensions of the pad body 11 within the above ranges, an auxiliary absorbent pad 10 suitable for absorbing leakage from the leg openings 2 of the disposable diaper 1 can be obtained.

(Top sheet)
As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the top sheet 14 is a liquid-permeable sheet-like substrate that quickly passes body fluids toward the absorbent body 16 and diffuses the body fluids in the surface direction of the absorbent body 16. The top sheet 14 is preferably a substrate that is soft to the touch and does not irritate the skin so that it may be directly in contact with the wearer's skin. Examples of substrates include nonwoven fabrics such as air-through nonwoven fabrics, thermal bond nonwoven fabrics, and spunbond nonwoven fabrics, open-ended films such as open-ended polyethylene films, foamed films such as polyethylene foams and urethane foams, and multi-layer sheets formed by laminating two or more of these. Among these, the top sheet 14 is preferably an air-through nonwoven fabric or a spunbond nonwoven fabric.

The surface of the top sheet 14 may be embossed or perforated to improve liquid permeability. Any known method may be used to perform the embossing or perforation without restriction. In addition, the top sheet 14 may contain lotions, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory ingredients, pH adjusters, antibacterial agents, moisturizers, etc. to reduce irritation to the skin.

(Back seat)
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the back sheet 15 may be formed using a substrate having liquid impermeability so that the body fluid held by the absorbent 16 does not wet the wearer's clothing. Examples of the substrate include a resin film and a composite sheet that is a laminate of a resin film and a nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric used in the composite sheet is not particularly limited in its manufacturing method, and examples thereof include single-layer nonwoven fabrics such as spunbond nonwoven fabrics and meltblown nonwoven fabrics, composite nonwoven fabrics such as spunbond nonwoven fabrics/meltblown nonwoven fabric laminates, and composite materials thereof. Examples of the resin film include polyester, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, polypropylene, and composite films of polyethylene and polypropylene. Among these, the back sheet 15 is preferably a breathable or non-breathable polyethylene (PE) film. In order to provide the back sheet 15 with breathability, for example, a filler may be blended into the resin film of the substrate, or the back sheet 15 may be embossed. As the filler, calcium carbonate can be used, and the method for blending the filler can be any known method without any restrictions.

The back sheet 15 only needs to have an area large enough to cover the entire absorbent 16 from the non-skin side. As shown in FIG. 2, the back sheet 15 in this embodiment is formed to be approximately the same size as the top sheet 14 that covers the entire absorbent 16 from the skin side, but is not limited to this. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, the other side of the back sheet 15 may be formed longer than in this embodiment, and the other side of the back sheet 15 may be folded back toward the skin side from the absorbent 16 and joined to the top sheet 14 on the skin side. In this case, the liquid-impermeable back sheet 15 is located below the absorbent 16 when the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is worn, so that downward leakage from the absorbent 16 can be prevented. In FIG. 3, the same reference numerals are used to designate members corresponding to those in FIG. 2.

(Absorbent)
1 and 2, examples of the absorbent body 16 include a fluff absorbent body containing absorbent fibers and a superabsorbent polymer (hereinafter sometimes referred to as "SAP"), and an SAP sheet in which SAP particles are fixed between liquid absorbent sheets. Among these, the absorbent body 16 is preferably a fluff absorbent body containing absorbent fibers (fluff pulp) and SAP.

The absorbent fibers are not particularly limited as long as they are generally used in absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, paper diapers, and urine pads, and examples thereof include fluff pulp, cotton, rayon, acetate, tissue, absorbent paper, hydrophilic nonwoven fabric, etc. Examples of fluff pulp include wood pulp (for example, bleached coniferous kraft pulp (N-BKP) such as southern pine or Douglas fir), synthetic fibers, resin fibers, non-wood pulp, etc. that have been defibrated into a cotton-like state. Examples of liquid absorbent sheets include sheets composed of one or more of the above absorbent fibers.

There are no particular limitations on the superabsorbent polymer as long as it can absorb body fluids and prevent backflow, and examples of such polymers include polyacrylates, polyaspartates, (starch-acrylic acid) graft copolymers, (acrylic acid-vinyl alcohol) copolymers, (isobutylene-maleic anhydride) copolymers, and saponification products thereof. Among these, from the viewpoint of the absorption amount per weight, polyacrylates are preferred, alkali metal polyacrylates are more preferred, and sodium polyacrylate is even more preferred. The superabsorbent polymers can be used alone or in combination of two or more types.

(Cover sheet)
A cover sheet (not shown) may be provided to encase the absorbent 16 in order to prevent leakage of SAP particles and stabilize the shape of the absorbent 16. The base material of the cover sheet may be any material having hydrophilic properties, such as hydrophilic nonwoven fabrics such as tissue, absorbent paper, airlaid nonwoven fabric, and spunbond nonwoven fabric. Among these, spunbond nonwoven fabric is preferable. In addition, when a plurality of cover sheets are provided, the base materials of the plurality of cover sheets may be the same or different. In addition, an ADL layer may be provided between the top sheet 14 and the cover sheet to quickly capture and distribute body fluids from the cover sheet side to the absorbent 16 side.

(extension sheet)
1 and 2, the extension sheet 12 is a sheet that supports the pad main body 11 when attached to the disposable diaper 12, and is fixed to the non-skin side of the pad main body 11 (the non-skin side of the back sheet 15 in this embodiment). The extension sheet 12 has an extension portion 17 that extends to the one side beyond the edge 11a of the one side of the pad main body 11. At least a part of the region of the extension sheet 12 that faces the back sheet 15 on the other side beyond the extension portion 17 is fixed to the back sheet 15. Of the region of the extension sheet 12 that faces the back sheet 15, the vicinity of the edge 11a of the one side of the pad main body 11 does not need to be fixed to the back sheet 15. The length L2 of the extension sheet 12 in the longitudinal direction is preferably 130 mm or more and 150 mm or less.

The extension portion 17 is preferably provided with a slit or perforation extending from the edge 17a on one side to the other side. The number of slits or perforations is preferably one to three. In this embodiment, the extension portion 17 is provided with multiple (two) perforations 18 at the end on one side. The multiple perforations 18 are spaced apart from one another in the longitudinal direction, and when broken, divide the end on one side of the extension portion 17 into three regions 19a, 19b, and 19c.

In this embodiment, the extension 17 is provided with perforations 18, but pre-cut slits may be provided instead of the perforations 18. Also, the slits or perforations may extend from the edge 17a of the extension 17 to the edge 11a of the pad body 11, rather than only at the end of the extension 17. Alternatively, the extension 17 may not need to have slits or perforations.

The extension sheet 12 is preferably a nonwoven fabric, and examples of the substrate include spunbond nonwoven fabric, SMMS (spunbond nonwoven fabric/meltblown nonwoven fabric/meltblown nonwoven fabric/spunbond nonwoven fabric), etc. The thickness of the extension sheet 12 is preferably thicker than the top sheet 14 and the back sheet 15. The basis weight of the extension sheet 12 is preferably 30 g/m ² or more and 100 g/m ² or less.

As shown in FIG. 2, the other side of the extension sheet 12 in this embodiment extends to approximately the same position as the other side of the back sheet 15, but is not limited to this. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, the other side of the extension sheet 12 may be formed longer than in this embodiment and folded back toward the skin side on the other side of the absorbent body 16 together with the back sheet 15.

(Fastening means)
The fastening means 13 is a means for fastening the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 to the paper diaper 1 , and is provided on the skin side surface 17 b of the end portion on the one side of the extension portion 17 and can be fastened to the paper diaper 1 .

The fastening means 13 is preferably provided so as to extend along the longitudinal direction at the end of one side of the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12. When slits or perforations are provided in the extension portion 17 as described above, the fastening means 13 is provided in each of the regions (three regions 19a, 19b, 19c in this embodiment) divided by the slits or perforations. Even in this case, it is preferable that the fastening means 13 provided in each region (three regions 19a, 19b, 19c in this embodiment) is provided so as to extend along the longitudinal direction as a whole.

The fastening means 13 may be, for example, an adhesive layer provided on the skin side 17b of the extension 17, or may be a mechanical hook tape. Of these, it is preferable that the fastening means 13 is a mechanical hook tape.

When an adhesive layer is provided as the fastening means 13, the adhesive that forms the adhesive layer is not particularly limited, but examples include hot melt adhesives such as polyacrylic acid ester, vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, vinyl acetate-acrylic copolymer, polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, styrene-acrylic copolymer, polyester resin, epoxy resin, and butadiene-styrene copolymer. These may be used alone or in combination. In this case, a removable sheet (such as release paper) may be attached to the adhesive layer as the fastening means 13 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 before use to protect the adhesive layer.

(How to use)
Next, a description will be given of an example of a method of using the auxiliary absorbent pad 10. However, the method of using the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is not limited to this.

Figure 4 is an explanatory diagram of the auxiliary absorbent pad when worn, with (a) showing the prepared state, (b) showing the state where it is placed against the groin, and (c) showing the state where it is fixed. Figure 5 is an explanatory diagram showing the state where the auxiliary absorbent pad is worn on both the left and right sides. Note that Figures 5 and 6 are schematic diagrams showing the waist area of a wearer wearing a disposable diaper 1 as viewed from the front. Figure 5 shows the state where the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is worn on the left groin of the wearer.

As shown in FIG. 5(a), when using the auxiliary absorbent pad 10, first, the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 is folded back toward the non-skin side (hereinafter referred to as the "folded back state") so that the edge 11a of the pad body 11 on one side is exposed to the one side.

Next, as shown in FIG. 5(b), the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 is oriented toward the groin, and the top sheet 14 is in contact with the inside of the wearer's thigh, and the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 in the folded-over state is slid upward toward the groin. Then, the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 is fitted to the outside of the three-dimensional gathers (not shown) of the disposable diaper 1 and to the inside of the gathers of the leg opening 2 in the groin area.

Next, as shown in FIG. 5(c), the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 is folded back from its folded state and attached to the surface of the disposable diaper 1 by the fastening means 13. As shown in FIG. 6, the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is attached to the wearer's right groin in the same manner as the left side.

The auxiliary absorbent pad 10 configured as described above includes an extension sheet 12 having an extension portion 17 extending beyond the pad body 11 toward the one side, and a fastening means 13 that can fasten the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 to the paper diaper 1. Therefore, as described above, the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 can be easily placed in the groin by folding the extension portion 17 back and sliding the folded auxiliary absorbent pad 10 upward along the inside of the wearer's thigh toward the groin. After the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is placed in the groin, the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 can be easily returned from the folded state to its original state, so that the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 can be easily fastened to the paper diaper 1 and easily worn in the groin.

The auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is attached by sliding it along the inside of the wearer's thigh toward the groin, so it can be easily attached even when bedridden by simply shifting the clothes (pants) slightly downwards without having to completely remove them.

In addition, the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 is fitted between the three-dimensional gathers (not shown) of the disposable diaper 1 and the legs, so gaps are unlikely to form and leakage is unlikely to occur.

In addition, the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is attached to the disposable diaper 1 by the fastening means 13, so it can be attached in a desired position and the wearing position can be changed according to the wearer's circumstances.

In addition, even if bodily fluids or the like leak from the disposable diaper 1 and are absorbed by the absorbent body 16 of the auxiliary absorbent pad 10, the absorbent body 16 is positioned in the groin area, so discomfort is minimal.

In addition, the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 is attached to the wearer's groin area and is relatively compact in size, so even if clothing (e.g., tight clothing) is worn over it, the silhouette of the clothing is unlikely to be affected.

Therefore, according to this embodiment, it is possible to provide an auxiliary absorbent pad 10 that can be easily attached to the groin area, which is particularly prone to leakage, causes little discomfort while being worn, and can effectively absorb leakage.

In addition, the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 is formed in a concave shape with the center side in the longitudinal direction curving toward the other side, so that it is possible to prevent the occurrence of gaps when the edge 11a on one side of the pad body 11 is fitted outside the three-dimensional gathers (not shown) of the disposable diaper 1 and inside the gathers of the leg openings 2.

In addition, the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 is provided with a slit or perforation extending from the edge 17a on one side to the other side, so that the end portion on one side of the extension portion 17 can be divided into a plurality of parts. When the end portion on one side of the extension portion 17 is divided into a plurality of parts, the fastening means 13 is provided in each area divided by the slits or perforations of the extension portion 17. Therefore, each area of the extension portion 17 of the extension sheet 12 can be fastened to the surface of the crotch portion of the paper diaper 1 in a spread-out state, so that the auxiliary absorbent pad 10 can be worn with the pad body 11 aligned with the leg.

In addition, by using mechanical hook tape as the fastening means 13, unlike when an adhesive layer is provided, a release sheet or the like is not required. An auxiliary absorbent pad that can be used as an auxiliary when using a disposable diaper,
a pad body having a liquid-permeable top sheet positioned on the skin side when worn, a liquid-impermeable back sheet positioned on the non-skin side, and an absorbent body disposed between the top sheet and the back sheet;
An extension sheet having an extension portion extending to one side in a width direction beyond the pad body and fixed to a non-skin side of the pad body;
