Abstract

Description

The present invention generally relates to toilet seat devices.

A toilet seat device is known that has a toilet lid that is rotatably attached to a casing (Patent Document 1).

The toilet seat device described in Patent Document 1 is installed so that the hinge part of the toilet lid is exposed, which may result in an unsightly appearance.

The present invention was made based on the recognition of such problems, and aims to provide a toilet seat device that looks good.

The first invention is a toilet seat device comprising a casing and a toilet lid rotatably attached to the casing, the toilet lid having a main body portion that covers the toilet bowl and a hinge portion that is provided on the main body portion and attached to the casing, and the casing having a covering portion that covers the upper part of the hinge portion.

With this toilet seat device, the hinge part of the toilet lid is covered by the covering part, so the hinge part is difficult to see even when the toilet lid is in the open position. This improves the appearance.

The second invention is a toilet seat device according to the first invention, characterized in that the main body has a flat portion covering the top of the toilet bowl and an extension portion extending from the flat portion toward the toilet bowl, the hinge portion is provided on the main body with a gap formed between it and the extension portion, and the casing has a side portion that faces the extension portion when the toilet lid is closed, and an insertion portion that is inserted into the gap from the side portion when the toilet lid is open.

With this toilet seat device, the insertion part makes it difficult to see the hinge part of the toilet lid even when the toilet lid is in the open position. This improves the appearance.

The third invention is a toilet seat device according to the first invention, characterized in that the casing has a case plate on which a functional part is provided and a case cover attached to the case plate, and the covering part is provided on the case cover.

With this toilet seat device, the covering part can be provided continuously on the case cover, giving it a smooth impression. This improves the appearance.

The fourth invention is the toilet seat device according to the third invention, characterized in that the case cover has a first cover that covers the functional part from above and a second cover that covers the first cover from above, and the covering part is provided on the second cover.

With this toilet seat device, the first cover and the second cover can prevent water, dust, etc. from entering the inside of the case cover. This can prevent water, dust, etc. from coming into contact with the functional part housed inside the casing. Therefore, the functional part can be operated stably.

The fifth invention is the toilet seat apparatus of the fourth invention, characterized in that the second cover has a first portion having an opening and a second portion that covers the opening, and the covering portion is provided on the first portion.

With this toilet seat device, the covering part provided on the first part makes it difficult to see the hinge part of the toilet lid even when the second part is removed from the first part. This improves the appearance.

The sixth invention is a toilet seat device according to the first invention, characterized in that the toilet lid has a main body and a hinge portion integrally molded.

With this toilet seat device, there are no fixtures or screws that attach the hinge to the main body, making for a smooth toilet lid overall. This improves the appearance.

According to an aspect of the present invention, a toilet seat device with a good appearance is provided.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the drawings, like components are designated by like reference numerals and detailed description thereof will be omitted as appropriate.
FIG. 1 shows a toilet apparatus equipped with a toilet seat apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.
In the following description of the embodiment, the terms "upper,""lower,""front,""rear,""right," and "left" are used; these directions are as seen by a user sitting on the toilet seat 80 with their back to the toilet lid 90, as shown in FIG. 1.

As shown in FIG. 1, the toilet device 1 comprises a Western-style seated toilet bowl (hereinafter, for convenience of explanation, simply referred to as the "toilet bowl") 2 and a toilet seat device 10 provided on the upper side of the toilet bowl 2. The toilet bowl 2 has a bowl portion 2a that is recessed downward. The toilet bowl 2 receives waste products such as urine and feces from the user in the bowl portion 2a.

The toilet seat device 10 comprises a casing 20, a toilet seat 80 rotatably attached to the casing 20, and a toilet lid 90 rotatably attached to the casing 20. Specifically, the casing 20 is installed behind and above the bowl portion 2a of the toilet 2. The casing 20 supports the toilet lid 90 at its rear end so that it can be opened and closed, and supports the toilet seat 80 in front of the toilet lid 90 so that it can be opened and closed.

The casing 20 is formed in the shape of a hollow box. A number of functional parts for operating the functions of the toilet device 1 are housed inside the casing 20. The functional parts include, for example, an opening/closing unit 100 (see FIG. 5) that controls the opening and closing of the toilet seat 80 and toilet lid 90, a toilet seat heating unit that controls the temperature of the toilet seat 80, a cleaning unit that cleans the private parts of the human body, a deodorizing unit that reduces odorous components, and a communication unit that can communicate with an operating unit such as a remote control. These functional parts are provided as necessary. For ease of explanation, the functional parts are omitted in each figure.

The toilet lid 90 is made of, for example, a resin material and has a main body 91 that covers the top of the toilet bowl 2, and a hinge portion 93 that is provided on the main body 91 and attached to the casing 20. The main body 91 has a flat portion 91a that covers the top of the toilet bowl 2, and an extension portion 91b that extends from the flat portion 91a toward the toilet bowl 2. As shown in FIG. 2(a), the flat portion 91a covers the top of the toilet seat 80 and the top of the casing 20 when the toilet lid 90 is closed. On the other hand, the extension portion 91b covers the outer periphery of the toilet seat 80 and the outer periphery of the casing 20 when the toilet lid 90 is closed. The extension portion 91b is formed so as to be continuous with the outer periphery of the toilet bowl 2 when the toilet lid 90 is closed. This improves the appearance of the toilet device 1 when the toilet lid 90 is closed.

As shown in Figures 9 and 10, the toilet lid 90 has a pair of hinge portions 93 spaced apart in the left-right direction on the rear end side of the main body portion 91. The hinge portions 93 are provided on the main body portion 91 with a gap 95 formed between them and the extension portion 91b in the left-right direction. In other words, the hinge portions 93 protrude from the main body portion 91 at a predetermined distance from the extension portion 91b.

The hinge portion 93 is provided at a position corresponding to the toilet lid attachment portion 43b of the casing 20 described below. The hinge portion 93 protrudes forward from the rear end of the main body portion 91, and a recess 93a is formed on the inner side in the left-right direction. The rotating shaft 101 of the opening/closing unit 100 fits into this recess 93a.

Here, for example, if the hinge section were detachable from the main body section, mounting fixtures or screws would be provided between the hinge section and the main body section, which could result in a poor appearance. In the toilet lid 90 of this embodiment, the main body section 91 and the hinge section 93 are integrally molded. This allows the toilet lid 90 to have a sense of unity between the main body section 91 and the hinge section 93, improving its appearance.

Next, we will explain the casing 20.

The casing 20 has a case plate 25 on which the functional parts are provided, and a case cover 30 attached to the case plate 25. The case cover 30 is formed in a box shape that is open at the bottom. The case cover 30 covers the functional parts provided on the case plate 25.

As shown in FIG. 9, the case cover 30 has a first cover 40 that covers the functional unit from above, and a second cover 50 that covers the first cover 40 from above. By attaching the second cover 50 to the first cover 40, it is possible to prevent water, dust, and the like from entering the inside of the casing 20. This makes it possible to prevent water and dust from coming into contact with the functional unit housed inside the casing 20, allowing the functional unit to operate stably.

The first cover 40 is formed in a box shape that is open at the bottom. The first cover 40 has a front surface portion 41, a first top surface portion 42, and first left and right side surfaces 43. The front surface portion 41 is formed in a curved shape that is concave from the front to the rear, and has an opening 41a through which a nozzle (not shown) of the cleaning unit advances and retreats. The first top surface portion 42 extends from the upper end of the front surface portion 41 toward the rear. The first top surface portion 42 is formed in a stepped shape in the vertical direction.

As shown in FIG. 7, the first upper surface portion 42 is provided with a through hole 42a in which, for example, a power switch for operating the functional portion is attached, and an inlet 42b for introducing a cleaning liquid for removing scale adhering to the water passage of the functional portion. In this example, the through hole 42a and the inlet 42b are provided on the rear end side of the first upper surface portion 42.

The left and right first side surface portions 43 extend downward from both the left and right ends of the first upper surface portion 42. The first side surface portion 43 is provided with a toilet seat attachment portion 43a to which the toilet seat 80 is attached, and a toilet lid attachment portion 43b to which the toilet lid 90 is attached. The toilet seat attachment portion 43a is provided on the front end side of the first side surface portion 43. The toilet lid attachment portion 43b is provided on the rear end side of the first side surface portion 43. The toilet lid attachment portion 43b is located laterally inward of the toilet seat attachment portion 43a. In other words, the dimension between the left and right toilet lid attachment portions 43b is smaller than the dimension between the left and right toilet seat attachment portions 43a.

The second cover 50 is attached to the first cover 40. The second cover 50 has a first portion 51 having an opening 51a1 and a second portion 55 that closes the opening 51a1. The first portion 51 has a second upper surface portion 51a that faces the first upper surface portion 42 of the first cover 40 in the up-down direction, left and right second side portions 51b that extend downward from both the left and right ends of the second upper surface portion 51a, a covering portion 51c that extends rearward from the second upper surface portion 51a, and an insertion portion 51d that extends rearward from the second side portion 51b and is inserted into the gap 95 of the toilet lid 90.

The second top surface portion 51a covers the upper side of the first top surface portion 42. The opening 51a1 of the second top surface portion 51a penetrates in the vertical direction and is formed at a position corresponding to the through hole 42a and the input port 42b. That is, in this example, the opening 51a1 is formed on the rear end side of the second top surface portion 51a. The second part 55 serves as a lid that covers the opening 51a1. The user can remove the second part 55 from the first part 51 and operate the power switch through the through hole 42a or supply cleaning liquid to the input port 42b.

The second side portion 51b is located outside the first side portion 43 in the left-right direction. That is, the left second side portion 51b faces the left first side portion 43. The right second side portion 51b faces the right first side portion 43. The left and right second side portions 51b form the side portions (exposed surfaces) of the casing 20. When the toilet lid 90 is closed, the second side portion 51b faces the extension portion 91b of the toilet lid 90 in the left-right direction. In addition, the second side portion 51b is located outside the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90 in the left-right direction.

The casing 20 has a covering portion 51c that covers the upper part of the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90. Specifically, the covering portion 51c is provided on the second cover 50 of the case cover 30. More specifically, the covering portion 51c is provided on the first portion 51 of the second cover 50.

The covering portion 51c is located on both the left and right sides of the opening 51a1 and protrudes rearward from the second upper surface portion 51a. The covering portion 51c covers the upper part of the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the covering portion 51c is located inside the toilet lid 90 (between the left and right extension portions 91b) when the toilet lid 90 is in the open state.

As a result, as shown in FIG. 2(b), the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90 is blocked by the covering portion 51c and cannot be seen by a user positioned, for example, in front of the toilet device 1. This allows for a toilet seat device 10 (toilet device 1) with a good appearance.

In addition, since the covering portion 51c is provided on the first portion 51 of the second cover 50, it is not visible even when the second portion 55 is removed for maintenance, for example. This allows the toilet seat device 10 (toilet device 1) to have a good appearance.

The casing 20 has an insertion portion 51d that extends rearward from the second side portion 51b. As shown in FIG. 3, the insertion portion 51d extends downward from the covering portion 51c. That is, the insertion portion 51d fits into the gap 95 between the extension portion 91b of the toilet lid 90 and the hinge portion 93.

As a result, the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90 is blocked by the extension portion 91b of the toilet lid 90 and the insertion portion 51d, making it difficult to see from the side and diagonally forward of the toilet device 1. This makes it possible to create a toilet seat device 10 (toilet device 1) that looks good.

Thus, the toilet seat device 10 according to this embodiment comprises a casing 20 and a toilet lid 90 rotatably attached to the casing 20. The toilet lid 90 has a main body 91 that covers the toilet bowl 2, and a hinge portion 93 that is provided on the main body 91 and attached to the casing 20. The casing 20 has a covering portion 51c that covers the upper part of the hinge portion 93. This makes it difficult to see the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90, resulting in a toilet seat device 10 with a good appearance.

In the above embodiment, the case cover 30 has been described as having a first cover 40 and a second cover 50. However, this embodiment is not limited to this, and for example, the first cover 40 and the second cover 50 may be integrated. In other words, it may be a single case cover having a covering portion. Also, the second cover 50 has been described as having a first portion 51 and a second portion 55. However, this embodiment is not limited to this, and for example, the first portion 51 and the second portion 55 may be integrated.

In the above embodiment, the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90 is attached to the first cover 40 of the case cover 30. However, this embodiment is not limited to this, and for example, the hinge portion 93 of the toilet lid 90 may be attached to the case plate 25.

In the above embodiment, the case where the covering portion 51c is provided on the first portion 51 of the second cover 50 has been described as an example. However, this embodiment is not limited to this, and for example, the covering portion may be provided on the second portion 55 of the second cover 50.

FIG. 11 is a perspective view showing a toilet apparatus equipped with a toilet seat apparatus according to a modified example of the present invention.
In the above embodiment, the toilet seat 80 is attached to the front end side of the case cover 30. However, the present embodiment is not limited to this, and the toilet seat 85 may be attached to the rear end side of the case cover 30, for example, as in the modified example shown in Fig. 11. In this case, the toilet seat 85 may cover the upper surface of the case cover 30. Also, the toilet seat 85 may be integrated with the second cover 50.
