Description

The present invention relates to dentures.

There have been many technologies related to dentures. JP Patent Publication 10-99350 (Patent Document 1) discloses a denture gap correction device that is used to replace missing teeth when the function of chewing food is reduced due to missing teeth, and improves the function of chewing food. In this denture gap correction device, when a gap occurs between the upper jaw mucosa in the mouth and the denture due to aging of the denture, a gap correction device with an adsorption function is provided between the upper jaw mucosa and the denture to correct the gap and make the denture in a proper use state. When using the gap correction device, the adhesive part is attached to the plate-shaped base of the denture, the denture with the gap correction device attached is placed in the mouth, and the denture is pressed while being in contact with the mucous membrane of the upper jaw, and the denture is fixed in the mouth by the adsorption device. In another embodiment, the main body of the gap correction device is formed from a material having a predetermined thickness that is flexible, for example, a thickness that matches the gap, and a hole part that communicates with either the front or back of the main body part is provided on both the front and back sides of the main body part. By adopting such a configuration, gaps that have developed over time can be corrected with the gap correction device, and dentures that have changed over time can be returned to their proper use state, eliminating the need to back the dentures or to make new dentures, which is economically and practically advantageous. In addition, the gap correction device can be washed together with the dentures when they are removed, allowing for continued use of the gap correction device, which is economically advantageous, and the gap correction device can be kept clean, which is also hygienic.

On the other hand, the applicant has invented and patented a denture for a patient with several remaining teeth. For example, JP 2015-109965 A (Patent Document 2) describes a denture for a patient with several remaining teeth, which includes a fixed dental base, artificial teeth, a movable denture base, a hinge, and a detachable part. The fixed dental base covers the back surface of the oral cavity near the roots of the remaining teeth, and covers the surface of the horseshoe-shaped alveolar ridge where there are no remaining teeth and the undercut, forming a temporary gingiva on the surface of the alveolar ridge. The artificial teeth correspond to the lost teeth and are provided on the surface of the temporary gingiva. The movable denture base covers the front surface of the oral cavity near the roots of the remaining teeth. The hinge part allows the movable denture base to be rotated toward the front side of the oral cavity relative to the fixed dental base. The detachable part allows the movable denture base to be attached and detached at the front side of the oral cavity relative to the fixed dental base. This makes it possible to achieve a comfortable chewing sensation without feeling uncomfortable when wearing the device.

JP 2020-130902 A (Patent Document 3) discloses a denture including a movable denture base, a hinge, a recess, a protrusion, a groove, a mounting pin, an elastic member, an inclined surface, and a protrusion. The movable denture base is made of polyamide resin and covers the front surface near the root of the remaining teeth. The hinge is provided on one side of the fixed denture base in the left-right direction. The recess is provided on the other side of the fixed denture base in the left-right direction. The protrusion is provided on the other side of the movable denture base in the left-right direction. The groove is provided on the abutment surface of the recess that abuts against the tip surface of the protrusion, along the other side of the left-right direction in the oral cavity. The mounting pin is provided so as to be able to enter and exit in the left-right direction in the oral cavity from the tip surface of the protrusion. The elastic member presses the mounting pin to the other side of the left-right direction in the oral cavity. The inclined surface is formed on the tip of the mounting pin from the tip surface of the protrusion. The protrusions hold the attachment pin so that it can slide left and right inside the mouth. This makes it easy to fit to the remaining teeth and allows for easy attachment and removal with a single touch.

特開平10-99350号公報Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 10-99350 特開2015-109965号公報JP 2015-109965 A 特開2020-130902号公報JP 2020-130902 A

In general, the teeth in the oral cavity, including remaining teeth, move subtly. Therefore, when designing dentures to fit the remaining teeth, it is desirable for the dentures to be in a form that will hold the remaining teeth in place. In addition, since many patients with remaining teeth are elderly, dentures must be designed so that they can be easily attached and removed even by elderly people.

Here, the technology described in Patent Document 1 has the problem that the suction strength is weak and it is not possible to prevent the remaining teeth from becoming loose, because the dentures are attached to the alveolar ridge using suction devices or holes (suction cups).

In addition, in the technology described in Patent Documents 2 and 3, the remaining teeth are fixed by sandwiching them between a movable denture base part and a fixed denture base part, which allows a sufficient chewing sensation; however, if the remaining teeth are not sandwiched between the movable denture base part and the fixed denture base part, the fixed denture base part only covers and supports the backs of the remaining teeth, so there is a limit to how much the fixed denture base part can fix the remaining teeth, and further fixation methods are required. In particular, as the remaining teeth undergo various changes over time, such as movement, fracture, and loss, dentures that correspond to the position and shape of the remaining teeth are required each time.

Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the above problems, and aims to provide dentures that can be firmly fixed to the remaining teeth and improve the chewing sensation in response to changes in the position and shape of the remaining teeth.

As a result of extensive research, the inventor has completed a novel denture according to the present invention. That is, the denture according to the present invention comprises a fixed dental base, artificial teeth, a protective part, an uneven part, and a polymerized resin. The fixed dental base covers the back surface of the remaining teeth and the surface of the horseshoe-shaped alveolar ridge where the missing teeth were located, and a temporary gingiva is formed on the surface of the alveolar ridge. The artificial teeth are provided on the surface of the temporary gingiva at the position of the missing teeth. The protective part is made of a metal plate and is provided on the surface of the fixed dental base facing the back surface of the remaining teeth. The uneven part is made of metal and is provided on the surface of the protective part facing the back surface of the remaining teeth. The polymerized resin begins to polymerize and harden after application.

The dentures of the present invention are fixed to the backs of the remaining teeth by placing the polymerized resin between the uneven portion of the protective part and the backs of the remaining teeth, and hardening the polymerized resin, so that the fixed dental base part covers the backs of the remaining teeth and the surface of the alveolar ridge.

The dentures of the present invention can be adapted to changes in the position and shape of remaining teeth, providing stronger fixation to the remaining teeth and improving the chewing sensation.

Below, an embodiment of the denture according to the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings to facilitate understanding of the present invention. Note that the following embodiment is an example of the present invention and is not intended to limit the technical scope of the present invention.

In this embodiment of the present invention, four remaining teeth are assumed, and a denture is shown for the case where all other teeth are missing. As shown in FIG. 1, the remaining teeth 2 are the second premolar on the right side, the first molar on the right side, the second molar on the right side, and the third molar on the right side. A horseshoe-shaped alveolar ridge 3 is provided on the surface where the missing teeth were located. Here, the alveolar ridge 3 refers to the part where the teeth have been removed and only the gums remain.

Now, as shown in Figure 1, the denture 1 (false tooth) according to the present invention comprises a fixed dental base part 10, artificial teeth 11, a protective part 12, an uneven part 13, and a polymerized resin R. The fixed dental base part 10 covers the backs of the remaining teeth 2 and the surface of the horseshoe-shaped alveolar ridge 3 where the missing teeth were located, and forms temporary gums on the surface of the alveolar ridge 3.

The artificial tooth 11 is provided on the surface of the temporary gum (i.e., the fixed dental bed 10) at the position of the missing tooth. The protective part 12 is made of a metal plate and is provided on the surface of the fixed dental bed 10 that faces the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2. Here, in FIG. 1, the protective part 12 faces the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2 from the crown to the lower part near the root.

The uneven portion 13 is made of metal and is provided on the surface of the protective portion 12 facing the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2. Here, the uneven portion 13 is provided by fixing a metal sphere to the surface of the protective portion 12 by welding. Here, the uneven portion 13 is provided facing the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2 from the crown portion to below the base. The uneven portion 13 is provided on the entire surface of the protective portion 12. The polymerized resin R is a resin (polymer) that begins to polymerize and harden after application.

The denture 1 according to the present invention further comprises a movable denture base portion 14, a hinge portion 15, and a removable portion 16. The movable denture base portion 14 covers the front of the remaining teeth 2 near their roots. The hinge portion 15 is provided on one side (here, the right side) in the left-right direction of the fixed denture base portion 10, allowing the movable denture base portion 14 to be rotated to the front side in the oral cavity.

The detachable portion 16 allows the movable denture base portion 14 to be attached and detached from the fixed denture base portion 10 at the front side in the oral cavity. The detachable portion 16 is, for example, composed of a set of a female portion and a male portion, the female portion being provided on the other side in the left-right direction of the fixed denture base portion 10 (here, the left side), and the convex portion being provided on the other side in the left-right direction of the movable denture base portion 14 (the left side) and attached to the concave portion.

Now, when wearing the denture 1 according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, first, the movable denture base 14 of the denture 1 is rotated to the front side of the oral cavity to expose the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 10, and polymerized resin R is applied to the uneven portion 13 of the exposed protective portion 12. Here, the polymerized resin R is applied so as to cover the entire protective portion 12 including the uneven portion 13.

Then, as shown in FIG. 3, the polymerized resin R is applied to cover the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2, and the polymerized resin R is hardened. This fixes the protective part 12 to the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2, and the fixed dental base part 10 covers the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2 and the surface of the alveolar ridge 3.

In the present invention, the polymerized resin R is placed between the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12 and the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2, and then the polymerized resin R is allowed to harden. For example, the polymerized resin R may be applied to the back surface 2a of the remaining tooth 2, and then the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12 may be covered with the polymerized resin R, and the polymerized resin R may be allowed to harden.

The denture 1 according to the present invention is configured to sandwich the remaining teeth 2 between the protective portion 12 of the fixed dental base portion 10 and the movable denture base portion 14, so that, as shown in FIG. 4, the movable denture base portion 14 is rotated to cover the front of the remaining teeth 2 near the base of the remaining teeth 2 via the hinge portion 15, and is attached to the fixed dental base portion 10 by the attachment/detachment portion 16. Here, the movable denture base portion 14 is fixed to the fixed dental base portion 10 by attaching the convex portion of the movable denture base portion 14 to the concave portion of the fixed dental base portion 10.

This makes it possible to strengthen the fixation to the remaining teeth 2 and improve the chewing sensation in response to changes in the position and shape of the remaining teeth. That is, in the present invention, the polymerized resin R is first covered on the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2 and hardened, so that the polymerized resin R that matches the position and shape of the remaining teeth 2 at that time can be hardened. As a result, no matter how the position or shape of the remaining teeth 2 changes, the polymerized resin R can be matched to the remaining teeth 2, improving its fit to the remaining teeth 2.

Next, on the surface (side) of the polymerized resin R that abuts against the uneven portion 13 of the protective part 12, the polymerized resin R is inserted into the uneven portion 13 of the protective part 12, so that the convex portion of the uneven portion 13 functions as an anchor for the polymerized resin R, and the polymerized resin R hardens in this state. This allows the polymerized resin R to be firmly fixed to the protective part 12.

In particular, because both the protective portion 12 and the uneven portion 13 are made of metal, they have excellent dimensional stability and can withstand some wobbling. This allows the denture 1 to firmly fix the remaining teeth 2 via the polymerized resin R, and even if the patient chews vigorously using the denture 1, the remaining teeth 2 will not wobble and the denture 1 will not come off, allowing the patient to obtain a satisfactory chewing sensation.

Furthermore, in the present invention, since the polymerized resin R is used as a medium between the remaining teeth 2 and the protective part 12, it is possible to respond to changes in the remaining teeth 2 over time. For example, if a patient wears the dentures 1 according to the present invention and a certain period of time passes and the position or shape of the patient's remaining teeth 2 changes and does not match the shape of the hardened polymerized resin R at that time, the existing polymerized resin R is removed and new polymerized resin R is used again to harden it so that it matches the current shape of the remaining teeth 2. In this way, dentures 1 that match the patient's remaining teeth 2 can be manufactured again. In the present invention, since only the polymerized resin R is replaced, there is no need to remake the entire dentures 1, and it is a configuration that does not impose a burden on either the patient or the dentist.

Furthermore, as described above, the remaining teeth 2 are sandwiched between the movable denture base part 14 and the protective part 12 of the fixed denture base part 10 via the polymerized resin R, so that the remaining teeth 2 can be fixed even more firmly by the denture 1 as a whole.

However, the present invention can achieve its effect even if the movable denture base part 14 and the protective part 12 of the fixed denture base part 10 are not configured to sandwich the remaining teeth 2 via the polymerized resin R. Specifically, in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 5, six remaining teeth are assumed, and a denture in which all other teeth are missing is shown. The remaining teeth 2 are the second premolar on the left side, the first molar on the left side, the second molar on the left side, the third molar on the left side, the canine on the right side, and the first premolar on the right side. A horseshoe-shaped alveolar ridge 3 is provided on the surface where the missing teeth were located.

Here, in the denture 1 according to the present invention, protective parts 12 are provided on both the left and right sides, and the protective part 12 with the uneven part 13 is configured to cover the back surface 2a of the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side for the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side. Here, the protective part 12 is configured to cover the back surface 2a of the four remaining teeth 2 from the crown part to the lower part near the root. On the other hand, the protective part 12 with the uneven part 13 for the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side covers the back surface 2a of the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side, and the movable denture base part 14, the hinge part 15, and the detachable part 16 are provided on the front side of the oral cavity, so that the movable denture base part 14 and the protective part 12 of the fixed denture base part 10 sandwich the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side. The uneven part 13 of the protective part 12 corresponding to the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side is provided by fixing a metal sphere or a metal rod to the surface of the protective part 12 by welding.

Now, when wearing the dentures 1 according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. 6, first, the back surfaces 2a of the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side are coated with polymerized resin R. Similarly, the back surfaces 2a of the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side are also coated with polymerized resin R. Then, the uneven portion 13 of the left protective portion 12 is brought close to the back surfaces 2a of the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side.

7, the uneven portion 13 of the left protective portion 12 is inserted into the polymerized resin R, and the uneven portion 13 of the right protective portion 12 is inserted into the polymerized resin R, and the polymerized resin R is hardened to fix the protective portion 12 to the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2, and the fixed dental base portion 10 is coated on the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2 and the surface of the alveolar ridge 3. As a result, the polymerized resin R hardens in a shape corresponding to the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2, and the polymerized resin R fits perfectly with the remaining teeth 2. The polymerized resin R also penetrates the uneven portion 13 of the left protective portion 12 and is firmly fixed to the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side. Therefore, the back surface 2a of the crowns of the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side is firmly supported by the uneven portion 13 of the left protective portion 12 via the polymerized resin R, and the denture 1 can firmly support the four remaining teeth 2 on the left side. This prevents the dentures 1 from falling off and allows you to chew properly.

Now, for the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side, the movable denture base part 14 is rotated to cover the front of the two remaining teeth 2 near their roots via the hinge part 15, and is attached to the fixed denture base part 10 via the attachment/detachment part 16, and the movable denture base part 14 is fixed to the fixed denture base part 10 as shown in FIG. 8. As a result, for the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side, the right protective part 12 and the movable denture base part 14 sandwich the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side via the polymerized resin R, making it possible to support the two remaining teeth 2 on the right side even more firmly.

Here, there is no particular limit to the number of remaining teeth 2, but it is within the range of 1 to 9, for example, and preferably within the range of 1 to 5.

In addition, there is no particular limitation on the configuration of the fixed denture base 10, but for example, the fixed denture base 10 is configured to form a horseshoe-shaped temporary gingiva corresponding to the horseshoe-shaped alveolar ridge 3, open the portion of the formed temporary gingiva corresponding to the remaining teeth 2 and the vicinity of the base of the remaining teeth 2, open the front side of the opened portion in the oral cavity, and cover the front side of the opened portion in the oral cavity with the movable denture base 12.

Furthermore, there is no particular limitation on the portion of the fixed dental base 10 that covers the surface of the alveolar ridge 3, but for example, it is configured to have a contracted surface that fits into the protruding surface that constitutes the surface of the alveolar ridge 3. Furthermore, there is no particular limitation on the temporary gingiva of the fixed dental base 10, but for example, it is configured to have a thickness that corresponds to the thickness of healthy gingiva. Furthermore, the object that the fixed dental base 10 covers may further include an undercut of the alveolar ridge 3. An undercut refers to a sunken portion below the most prominent portion of a tooth, alveolar ridge, etc. This allows the denture 1 to be firmly fixed.

As shown in Figs. 1 and 5, when the temporary gums are separated due to the position near the root of the remaining teeth 2, for example, when the remaining teeth 2 are concentrated on the anterior teeth and two temporary gums are provided corresponding to the surface of the horseshoe-shaped ridge 3 of the back teeth, a connecting plate 17 may be further provided to connect each temporary gum. Here, for the connecting plate 17, a material with excellent dimensional stability such as metal is selected. In addition, by providing a plurality of particles such as retention beads in advance on the connecting plate 17 and melting and solidifying the fixed dental bed 10 so that it penetrates these particles, it is possible to impart dimensional stability to the fixed dental bed 10 and prevent the fixed dental bed 10 from peeling off from the connecting plate 17.

The material that constitutes the fixed dental base 10 is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, acrylic resin, polyamide resin, nylon resin, etc. In addition to resin, metal may also be partially used. For example, as described above, when the connecting base 17 is incorporated, it is composed of a combination of resin and metal.

There is no particular limit to the number of artificial teeth 11, but for example, the total number of remaining teeth 2 and artificial teeth 11 can be configured to be 14, corresponding to the number of teeth a healthy person has, and all missing teeth other than the remaining teeth 2 can be provided as artificial teeth 11. The number of artificial teeth 11 can also be determined according to the patient's wearing comfort, for example, by missing the rightmost or leftmost artificial tooth (second molar) to form a denture base. There is no particular limit to the material of the artificial teeth 11, but for example, ceramic teeth, resin teeth, metal teeth, etc. can be used.

The protective part 12 is not particularly limited in its configuration, but may be configured as a continuous surface to cover the back surface 2a of the crowns of the multiple remaining teeth 2, as shown in Figs. 1 and 4, or may be configured as a single surface to cover the back surface 2a of the crowns of each remaining tooth 2. The protective part 12 may be configured to cover the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2 from the crowns to the lower part near the root, or may cover only the back surface 2a of the crowns of the remaining teeth 2, or may cover the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2 from the crowns to the upper part near the root, or may cover the back surface 2a of the remaining teeth 2 from the crowns to the upper part near the root. The thickness of the protective part 12 is not particularly limited, but is preferably within the range of 0.1 mm to 2.0 mm, for example.

The uneven portion 13 may be formed by, for example, fixing a metal sphere or a metal rod to the surface of the protective portion 12 (the surface exposed to the outside, the surface facing the back surface 2a of the crown of the remaining tooth 2) by welding as shown in Figs. 1 and 4, or may be formed by casting a plate of the protective portion 12 to form unevenness. The uneven portion 13 may be formed on the entire surface of the protective portion 12, but if the dimensions of the length, width, and height are each within the range of 0.1 mm to 2.0 mm, it becomes easier to remove the existing polymerized resin as the remaining tooth 2 changes. The uneven portion 13 may be formed on the entire surface of the protective portion 12, or on a part of the protective portion 12.

In addition, there are no particular limitations on the type of metal for the protective portion 12 and the uneven portion 13, but for example, gold-silver-palladium alloy, cobalt-chromium alloy, platinum-gold, titanium alloy, platinum-gold, etc. can be used.

The type of polymerized resin R is not particularly limited, but examples include room temperature polymerized resins that harden at room temperature, heat polymerized resins that harden when heated, and instantaneous polymerized resins that harden immediately. Polymerized resins are made of powder and liquid materials containing a chemical polymerization initiator, and are hardened by mixing the powder and liquid materials to form a paste and then polymerizing (heat polymerization, chemical polymerization, photopolymerization, etc.) according to the material. The composition of polymerized resin R is not particularly limited, but examples include a composition that is made of a liquid agent mainly composed of methyl methacrylate and a powder agent mainly composed of polymethyl methacrylate or polymethyl ethyl methacrylate, and by contacting the liquid agent and the powder agent, a radical polymerization reaction occurs between a polymerization initiator such as peroxide and a polymerization accelerator such as a tertiary amine, resulting in polymerization and hardening.

The configuration of the movable denture base 14 is not particularly limited, but for example, as shown in Figs. 1 and 5, it is configured to sandwich the vicinity of the root of the remaining tooth 2 in correspondence with the fixed dental base 10. Here, the vicinity of the root of the remaining tooth 2 sandwiched by the movable denture base 14 may be the part from the gums to the neck of the remaining tooth 2, or the part from the gums to the lower vicinity of the crown of the remaining tooth 2. The design of the vicinity of the root of the remaining tooth 2 sandwiched between the fixed dental base 10 and the movable denture base 14 is appropriately changed depending on the condition of the patient's remaining tooth 2, the condition of the horseshoe-shaped ridge 3, the degree of mobility of the remaining tooth 2, etc.

In addition, there is no particular limit to the number of movable denture base parts 14, but for example, if two or more remaining teeth 2 are spaced apart, the number may correspond to the number of remaining teeth 2, or if two or more remaining teeth 2 are close together, one movable denture base part 14 may be provided for each of the remaining teeth 2, spanning all of the remaining teeth 2.

In addition, there is no particular limitation on the shape of the movable denture base 14, but for example, as shown in Figures 1 and 5, the movable denture base 14 facing the fixed denture base 10 has a wave shape that corresponds to the wave shape formed at the boundary between the teeth and gums (for example, the boundary between the remaining teeth 2 and gums, or the boundary between the artificial teeth 11 and temporary gums), that is, the cervical part of the teeth, and when attached to the fixed denture base 10, the wave shape of this movable denture base 14 is configured to match the wave shape formed by the cervical part of the remaining teeth 2 in the oral cavity and the cervical part of the artificial teeth 11 of the fixed denture base 10.

半芳香族ポリアミド樹脂は、例えば、ナイロン4T(PA4T)、ナイロン6T(PA6T)、ナイロンMXD6(PAMXD6)、ナイロン9T(PA9T)、ナイロン10T(PA10T)、ナイロン11T(PA11T)、ナイロン12T(PA12T)、ナイロン13T(PA13T)等を挙げることが出来る。 The material constituting the movable denture base 14 is not particularly limited as long as it is a polyamide resin, but examples of polyamide resins include aliphatic polyamide resins and semi-aromatic polyamide resins. Examples of aliphatic polyamide resins include nylon 6 (PA6), nylon 11 (PA11), nylon 12 (PA12), nylon 46 (PA46), nylon 66 (PA66), nylon 92 (PA92), nylon 99 (PA99), nylon 610 (PA610), nylon 612 (PA612), nylon 912 (PA912), nylon 1010 (PA1010), nylon 1012 (PA1012), copolymer of nylon 6 and nylon 12 (PA6/12), copolymer of nylon 6 and nylon 66 (PA6/66), etc. Examples of semi-aromatic polyamide resins include nylon 4T (PA4T), nylon 6T (PA6T), nylon MXD6 (PAMXD6), nylon 9T (PA9T), nylon 10T (PA10T), nylon 11T (PA11T), nylon 12T (PA12T), and nylon 13T (PA13T).

In addition, there is no particular limitation on the configuration of the hinge portion 15, but for example, when one position (right side) of the fixed denture base portion 10 is hollowed out to correspond to one end (right end) of the movable denture base portion 14, and one end of the movable denture base portion 14 is positioned (attached) in the hollowed out portion, the hinge portion 15 can be configured as a pivot pin that passes through one position of the fixed denture base portion 10 and one end of the movable denture base portion 14 internally, and serves as the central axis of rotation.

In addition, there is no particular limitation on the shape of the hinge portion 15 (pivot pin), but it may be, for example, straight, L-shaped with one end bent, or U-shaped with both ends bent.

The configuration of the detachable portion 16 is not particularly limited as long as it does not impede the objective of the present invention. As described above, the detachable portion 16 may be configured with a convex portion and a concave portion that can be fitted into the convex portion, or it may have another detachable configuration.

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

First, a denture 1 of the present invention was created for a patient with six remaining front teeth in the lower jaw, and polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12 and placed against the back surface 2a of the crowns of the patient's remaining teeth 2, allowing the polymerized resin R to harden. As shown in Figure 9, it can be seen that the polymerized resin R blends in with the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12 as it hardens. When this denture 1 is worn by the patient, it can be seen that the denture 1 is able to properly fix the six remaining teeth 2, as shown in Figure 10. The patient has given it high praise, stating that the denture 1 does not slip and that he can chew adequately.

Next, for a patient with five remaining front teeth in the upper jaw, the denture 1 of the present invention was similarly created, and polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12, which was then placed against the back surface 2a of the patient's remaining teeth 2, and the polymerized resin R was allowed to harden. As shown in Figure 11, the polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 corresponding to the back surface 2a of the crown portion of the remaining teeth 2, and allowed to harden. When this denture 1 was worn by the patient, it can be seen that the denture 1 is able to properly fix the five remaining teeth 2, as shown in Figure 12. The patient has given it high praise, stating that the denture 1 will not fall off, and that he or she can chew adequately, including the remaining teeth 2.

Similarly, for a patient with three remaining molars in the upper jaw, the denture 1 of the present invention was created, and polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12, which was then placed against the back surface 2a of the patient's remaining teeth 2, and the polymerized resin R was allowed to harden. As shown in FIG. 13, the polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 corresponding to the back surface 2a from the crown of the remaining teeth 2 to the vicinity of the root, and allowed to harden. When the denture 1 was worn by the patient, it was clear that the denture 1 was properly fixed via the three remaining teeth 2, as shown in FIG. 14. As with the above, the denture 1 was highly rated by the patient, who said that the denture 1 did not fall off and that they could chew well.

Furthermore, for a patient with one remaining molar in the upper jaw, the denture 1 of the present invention was similarly created, and polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 of the protective portion 12, which was then placed against the back surface 2a of the patient's remaining tooth 2, and the polymerized resin R was allowed to harden. As shown in FIG. 15, the polymerized resin R was applied to the uneven portion 13 corresponding to the back surface 2a of the crown of the remaining tooth 2, and allowed to harden. When this denture 1 was worn by the patient, it can be seen that the denture 1 is properly fixed via the remaining tooth 2, as shown in FIG. 16, even though there is only one remaining tooth 2. As mentioned above, the patient has given it high praise, saying that the denture 1 does not fall off and that he can chew well.

In addition, maintenance of their dentures 1 was possible, for example, by replacing the polymerized resin R, and even if the position or shape of the remaining teeth 2 changed, it was possible to remake a matching denture 1. Therefore, dentures 1 that matched the patient's remaining teeth 2 could be easily manufactured again. Furthermore, it was found that their dentures 1 only required replacing the polymerized resin R, and there was no need to remake the entire denture 1, so it was a configuration that did not impose a burden on either the patient or the dentist.

As described above, the dentures of the present invention are useful for any patient with only a few remaining teeth, including the elderly, and are effective as dentures that can strengthen the fixation to the remaining teeth and improve the chewing sensation by adapting to changes in the position and shape of the remaining teeth.
