Abstract
本発明に係るボタン型二次電池は、直径の長さが高さよりも大きいボタン型二次電池に関し、電極組立体と、電極組立体が挿入される下部缶と、下部缶の上端開口を覆う上部缶と、を含み、下部缶の上部には内側に湾入したビーディング部が備えられ、ビーディング部の上側に位置する下部缶の上端部が折り曲げられた形態を有し、上部缶の縁端部を囲んで上部缶と下部缶が互いに結合されている。
Description
図1を参照すると、従来のボタン形状の二次電池10は、上部、下部ハウジングが分けられている形態であって、その形状が上部円筒形の缶4と下部円筒形の缶3の締まり嵌めの形態であった。すなわち、下部円筒形の缶3の外径が上部のものよりも若干大きく、互いに締まり嵌めの形態となるものであった。締まり嵌め形態の場合、その嵌められた摩擦力によりボタン型二次電池の形態が維持される原理である。そして、従来のボタン形状の二次電池は、上部缶4と下部缶3を内部電極組立体1のサイズに合わせて製作し嵌合したため、内部に別の余裕空間が存在しなかった。
上部缶と電極組立体との間には、内部ガスを捕集できる捕集空間(space)が備えられることができる。
ベント胴体部は、外側縁部に凹んだ溝状の破断ノッチを含むことができる。
破断ノッチは、下部缶内で発生するガスが所定圧力以上発生する際に破断することができる。
破断ノッチが破断すると、内部ガスは、第2捕集空間から第1捕集空間に移動することができる。
図2は、本発明の第1実施形態に係るボタン型二次電池を示す断面図である。
図2を参照すると、本発明の第1実施形態に係るボタン型二次電池100は、円筒形の形状を有する電池であってもよく、円筒状の電池の直径の長さが電池の高さよりもさらに大きい形態であってもよい。そして、本発明の第1実施形態に係るボタン型二次電池100は、電極組立体150、下部缶110、および上部缶130を含むことができる。電極組立体150は、電極151とセパレータ152が交互に積層されて巻き取られた形態であってもよい。
図3は、本発明の第2実施形態に係るボタン型二次電池を示す断面図である。
本発明の第2実施形態においては、過電流や内部高圧が発生する状況で必要時に電流の流れを遮断することができ、電池の内部で発生するガスにより過度な内部圧力が発生する場合に電池の内部でガスを捕集できる空間をさらに提供可能なベントユニット260をさらに含むという点で、第1実施形態とは異なる。

Claims (15)
- 直径の長さが高さよりも大きいボタン型二次電池であって、
電極組立体と、
前記電極組立体が挿入される下部缶と、
前記下部缶の上端開口を覆う上部缶と、
を含み、
前記下部缶の上部には内側に湾入したビーディング部が備えられ、
前記ビーディング部の上側に位置する前記下部缶の上端部が折り曲げられた形態を有し、前記上部缶の縁端部を囲んで前記上部缶と前記下部缶が互いに結合されているボタン型二次電池。 - 前記上部缶の縁端部と前記下部缶の上端部が折り曲げられた形態の部分との間には絶縁体が介在され、
前記絶縁体は、PBT(ポリブチレンテレフタレート)材質である、請求項1に記載のボタン型二次電池。 - 前記上部缶は、平面図上では円形の形状を有し、この際、上部缶の縁端部よりも中央部が上側にさらに突出する形状を有しており、前記上部缶の縁端部と前記中央部は互いに段差があるように形成される、請求項1または2に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記電極組立体の中心部には中心孔が形成され、
前記中心孔内には前記中心孔が満たされるようにセンターピンが備えられている、請求項1から3のいずれか一項に記載のボタン型二次電池。 - 前記上部缶と前記電極組立体との間には、内部ガスを捕集できる捕集空間(space)が備えられている、請求項1から4のいずれか一項に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記電極組立体の電極と前記上部缶とを連結する電極タブをさらに含み、
前記電極タブの一端は前記電極組立体の電極に連結され、
前記電極タブの他端は前記上部缶の下面にC字状に連結されている請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載のボタン型二次電池。 - 前記上部缶と前記電極組立体との間には、内部ガスを捕集できる捕集空間(space)が備えられ、
前記捕集空間を横切る形状を有するベント胴体部と、前記ベント胴体部の端部から外側に延びて前記上部缶の縁端部の下面に当接するように形成されたベント外縁部と、を含むベントユニットをさらに含む、請求項1に記載のボタン型二次電池。 - 前記ベント胴体部は、外側縁部に凹んだ溝状の破断ノッチを含む、請求項7に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記捕集空間は、
前記ベント胴体部の上面と前記上部缶の下面との間に形成される第1捕集空間と、前記ベント胴体部の下面と前記電極組立体の上面との間に形成される第2捕集空間と、を含む、請求項8に記載のボタン型二次電池。 - 前記電極組立体の電極と前記ベントユニットとを連結する電極タブをさらに含み、
前記電極タブの一端は前記電極組立体の電極に連結され、
前記電極タブの他端は前記ベント胴体部の下面にC字状に連結されている、請求項9に記載のボタン型二次電池。 - 前記電極タブの他端と前記ベント胴体部の下面が互いに接合された地点は、前記破断ノッチの内側に位置する、請求項10に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記破断ノッチは、下部缶内で発生するガスが所定圧力以上発生する際に破断する、請求項11に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記破断ノッチが破断すると、前記ベント胴体部と前記ベント外縁部は互いに分離され、前記電極組立体と前記上部缶との間の電流の流れが遮断される、請求項12に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記破断ノッチが破断すると、前記内部ガスは、前記第2捕集空間から前記第1捕集空間に移動する、請求項12または13に記載のボタン型二次電池。
- 前記電極組立体の中心部には中心孔が形成され、
前記中心孔内にはセンターピンが備えられ、
前記センターピンは、複数のセンターピン内部空間が形成されている多孔性センターピンである、請求項7から14のいずれか一項に記載のボタン型二次電池。
