理美容室におけるパーマネント方法には、主に、つけ巻(パーマネントウェーブ用剤を塗布した毛髪をロッドに巻く方法)及び水巻(水で湿らせた毛髪をロッドに巻いて、次いで該ロッドに巻かれた毛髪にパーマネントウェーブ用剤を塗布する方法)がある。
つけ巻においては、毛髪はパーマネントウェーブ用剤が塗布された後にロッドに巻かれるので、毛髪のパーマネントのかかり強さ、即ちウェーブ効率は、つけ巻が、水巻よりも優れている。

本発明のパーマネントウェーブ又はカール前処理用組成物に用いられるラクトンとしては、好ましくは、炭素数3〜10のラクトン、更に好ましくはγラクトンが挙げられる。特に好ましくは、γ-バレロラクトン、DL-パントイン酸-γ-ラクトン、γ-ヘキサノラクトン及びγ-ブチロラクトンが挙げられるが、これに限定されない。
これらのラクトンの配合量としては、上記前処理用組成物全体に対して、5〜60質量%が好ましく、より好ましくは10〜50質量%である。
本発明の前処理用組成物の残部は水であるが、毛髪保護や感触の改善、ウェーブ又はカール形成効果の長期持続を目的として、油脂類、シリコーン類、ケラチン等タンパク質加水分解物又はその誘導体、多糖類又はその誘導体、多価アルコール類、ビニル系化合物やアクリル系化合物等の合成ポリマー、動植物抽出物、無機電解質、界面活性剤等を、適宜選択され配合してよい。
本発明の前処理用組成物の形態は任意であり、液状、ゲル状、気泡状、乳液状、クリーム状、軟膏状、ムース状、粉末分散状、エアゾール状等の形態を構成することができる。
具体的には、例えば、ヘアクリーム、ヘアスプレー、ヘアトニック、ヘアジェル、ヘアローション、ヘアオイル、ヘアエッセンス、ヘアウォーター、ヘアワックス、ヘアフォームなどが例示できる。
本発明の別の態様にとしては、本発明の前処理用組成物を使用するパーマネントウェーブ又はカール方法であって、
(1)毛髪に該前処理用組成物を塗布する工程、
(2)上記該前処理用組成物を塗布された毛髪をロッドに巻く工程、
(3)上記ロッドに巻かれた毛髪に還元剤を主たる成分とするパーマネントウェーブ又はカール用薬剤を塗布して放置する工程、及び
(4)上記毛髪を洗髪する工程、
を含むことを特徴とする方法である。
必要に応じて、工程(3)と(4)の間に以下の工程:
上記毛髪を水洗した後に、酸化剤を主たる成分とするパーマネントウェーブ又はカール用薬剤を上記毛髪に塗布して、パーマネントウェーブ又はカールを固定する工程、

本発明に使用されるロッドは、いかなるパーマネント用ロッドでよい。使用するパーマネントウェーブ又はカール用薬剤に対応する好適なロッドを選んでよい。
本発明の前処理用組成物と組み合わせて使用する事のできるパーマネント用薬剤は、一般的ないかなるパーマネント用薬剤でよい。酸性でもアルカリ性でもよく、具体的には、限定的でないが、アルカリ性条件下で実用的なチオグリコール酸やシステイン、アセチルシステインの塩類などの一般にケラチン還元物質ともいわれる化合物、又は中性から弱酸性条件下で実用的なメルカプトカルボン酸アルコキシエステルやブチロラクトンチオールなどのチオールラクトン化合物等が挙げられる。
パーマネント用薬剤を塗布してから放置する時間は、毛髪の状態に応じていかなる時間でもよい。

[調製方法]
表1に記載の組成の各パーマネントウェーブ又はカール前処理用組成物を以下の手順で調製した。
室温において、100mLのバイアルに所定量の表1に記載のラクトン及び精製水を注ぎ、均質になるまで攪拌した。
[試験方法]
クセ毛でない直毛の日本人あるいは中国人の健康な黒色毛髪であって、黒毛(未処理毛)と2回ブリーチ毛(14トーン毛)の2種類の毛束(長さ30cm、1g)それぞれに表1に記載の試料1〜8の前処理用組成物0.13mLを塗布し、良くコーミングしてラップに包み室温放置した。次いで室温で5分間放置後、直径9mmのロッドに毛束を巻いて、パーマネントウェーブ用第1液0.39mLを塗布しラップで包み、15分間室温で放置した。1分間流水中でロッドに巻かれた状態の毛束を水洗して、軽く水気を切った後、パーマネントウェーブ用第2液0.39mlを塗布し、15分間室温放置した。1分間流水中で水洗した後、ロッドをはずして、毛束の水気を軽く切り、毛束を吊るした。
パーマネントウェーブ用第1液として使用したチオパーマ第1液及びシステインパーマ第1液、パーマネントウェーブ用第2液として使用したチオパーマ第2液及びシステインパーマ第2液の組成を表2に示す。

上記試験の手順に従ってパーマネントをかけた毛束のウェーブ1波長の長さ(単位:cm)測定して表3に示した。

以上の結果より、本発明の前処理組成物の使用により全ての実施例でウェーブ効率の向上が得られた。特に実施例2、3、5、7及び8において、水巻のパーマに比べて、黒毛において5%以上のブリーチ毛において10%以上のウェーブ効率の向上が得られた。
更に、試料6〜8は、他と比較して悪臭が少なく、扱いやすいという利点を有する。
