Abstract

Claims (42)
- 圧縮気体が供給され、膨張室(9)を有するエンジン(3)と、エンジン(3)と流体的に連通している液化気体タンク(28)と、液化気体タンク(28)とエンジン(3)との間に設けられ、圧縮気体を得るために、液化気体を気化する気化手段(M)(M’)とを備え、気化手段(M)は、液化気体タンク(28)と流体的に連通している気化室(22)と、気化室(22)と連結された液体燃料タンク(39)とを備えている、都市型交通手段のためのエンジンユニットにおいて、
気化室(22)を、液化気体の酸素と燃焼される液体燃料の液体燃料タンク(39)と、膨張室(9)とに流体的に連結し、それにより、圧縮された液化気体及び燃焼処理による気体状生成物を、必要な動作のために用いることを特徴とするエンジンユニット。 - 気化手段(M)は、液化気体を気化するために、液化気体タンク(28)と気化室(22)との間に、熱交換器(33)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液化気体は、液体空気または酸素欠乏空気であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液化気体は、液体窒素であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のエンジンユニット。
- 気化手段(M’)は、液体燃料との燃焼のための気化室(22)と流体的に連結された液体酸素タンク(128)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項4記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液体燃料は、液体水素であることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 気化手段(M)は、気化室(22)内に燃焼を開始させるパイロット点火器(50)(64)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 気化手段(M)は、液化気体タンク(28)と気化室(22)との間にポンプ(31)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液体燃料タンク(39)と気化室(22)との間にポンプ(42)(56)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液体酸素タンク(128)と気化室(22)との間にポンプ(131)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項5記載のエンジンユニット。
- ポンプ(31)(42)(56)(131)は、エンジン(3)の速度を制御する可変容量型ポンプであることを特徴とする、請求項8〜10のいずれか1つに記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液体燃料タンク(39)と気化室(22)との間に、液体燃料を気化させる熱交換器(44)(58)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 気化室(22)を、飽和蒸気の状態で液体燃料と酸素とを燃焼させる第1気化室(26)と、過熱蒸気の状態で液体燃料と酸素とを燃焼させる第2気化室(27)とに分割したことを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 気化室(22)を、液体酸素タンク(128)及び液体燃料タンク(39)と流体的に連結された第1気化室(222)(322)と、液化気体タンク(28)と流体的に連結された第2気化室(227)(326)とに分割し、第1気化室(222)(322)及び第2気化室(227)(326)は、酸素と燃料とで発生された燃焼熱を熱交換する状態となっていることを特徴とする、請求項1または2記載のエンジンユニット。
- 第1気化室(222)と第2気化室(227)とを、熱交換室(226)を介して流体的に連結したことを特徴とする、請求項14記載のエンジンユニット。
- 第2気化室(326)を、第1気化室(322)内に直接設けたことを特徴とする、請求項14記載のエンジンユニット。
- エンジン(3)は、所定の期間(AB)だけ閉じるように制御される吸気弁(12)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- エンジン(3)は、所定の期間(CD)だけ閉じるように制御される排気弁(13)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のエンジンユニット。
- 液化気体を気化し、圧縮気体とするステップを含み、圧縮気体を都市型交通手段のエンジン(3)に供給する方法において、
所定量の液体燃料と液化気体に含まれる酸素とを燃焼させて気化させ、この燃焼を、液化気体の気化と同じ領域で行い、エンジン(3)に、圧縮気体と燃焼処理による気体状生成物とを供給することを特徴とする方法。 - 大気から熱を抽出する熱交換器により気化することを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 液化気体は、適切な液体空気または酸素欠乏液体空気であり、液体空気の酸素をもって燃焼させることを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 液化気体は、窒素であり、液化気体に対して自律的に供給された酸素をもって燃焼することを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 酸素と燃料とが燃焼される領域とは別の領域で液化気体を気化するステップをさらに含み、燃焼熱を気化領域へ伝達することを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 液体燃料は、液体水素であることを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- パイロット点火器により燃焼を行うことを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 液体燃料を所定の量とし、10〜30気圧、好ましくは20気圧である所定圧の圧縮気体を得ることを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 熱交換器(44)(58)内で、液体燃料を気化させるステップを含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項19記載の方法。
- 液化気体タンク(28)と、液化気体を圧縮気体に気化する気化手段(M)(M’)とを備え、気化手段(M)は、液化気体タンク(28)と流体的に連通している気化室(22)と、気化室(22)と連結された液体燃料タンク(39)とを備えている、都市型牽引車のエンジン(3)に圧縮気体を供給する発生器において、
気化室(22)を、液化気体の酸素と燃焼される液体燃料の液体燃料タンク(39)と、圧縮気体の吸気弁(12)を介してエンジン(3)のシリンダ(5)とに流体的に連結し、それにより、圧縮された液化気体及び燃焼処理による気体状生成物を、必要な動作のために用いることを特徴とする発生器。 - 気化手段(M)は、液化気体タンク(28)と気化室(22)との間に、液化気体を気化させる熱交換器(33)を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項28記載の発生器。
- 液化気体は、液体空気または酸素欠乏液体空気であることを特徴とする、請求項29記載の発生器。

- 気化室(22)を、液体燃料タンク(39)及び液体酸素タンク(128)に流体的に連結された第1気化室(222)(322)と、液化気体タンク(28)と流体的に連結された第2気化室(227)(326)とに分割し、第1気化室(222)(322)及び第2気化室(227)(326)は、酸素と燃料とで発生された燃焼熱を熱交換する状態となっていることを特徴とする、請求項28記載の発生器。
- 第2気化室(326)を、第1気化室(322)内に直接設けたことを特徴とする、請求項41記載の発生器。
