Claims (34)
- 頂部表面と、ほぼ対向している側面とを有する第1及び第2の骨を連結する方法であって、
前記第1の骨により近い第1の端部と前記第2の骨により近い第2の端部とを有し、前記第1の端部を貫通して伸びる第1のネジ挿通孔と第2の端部を貫通して伸びる第2のネジ挿通孔とを有するベースプレートを前記第1の骨の側面と第2の骨の側面との間に挿入する過程と、
第1の骨ネジを、前記第1の骨の頂部表面に対して略20°ないし略60°の範囲の角度を持たせて、前記第1のネジ挿通孔を通して前記第1の骨内にねじ込む過程と、
第2の骨ネジを、前記第2の骨の頂部表面に対して略20°ないし70°の範囲の角度を持たせて、前記第2のネジ挿通孔を通して前記第2の骨内にねじ込む過程と、
前記第1の骨ネジ及び第2の骨ネジがそれぞれ前記第1の骨及び第2の骨から抜け出るのを阻止するために、前記第1の骨ネジの少なくとも一部と前記第2の骨ネジの少なくとも一部とをカバーする過程と、
を行う骨の連結方法。 - 前記第1の骨ネジは前記第1の骨の頂部表面と側面との間に形成された骨のコーナ部で前記第1の骨内にねじ込まれる請求項1による骨の連結方法。
- 前記第2の骨ネジは、前記第2の骨の頂部表面と側面との間に形成された骨のコーナ部で前記第2の骨内にねじ込まれる請求項2による骨の連結方法。
- 前記第2の骨ネジは、前記第2の骨の頂部表面と側面との間に形成された骨のコーナ部で前記第2の骨内にねじ込まれる請求項1による骨の連結方法。
- 前記ベースプレートは、一つの頂面を有していて、該頂面が前記第1及び第2の骨の頂部表面または該第1及び第2の骨の頂部表面よりも下方に置かれている請求項4による骨の連結方法。
- 前記第1の骨及び第2の骨はそれぞれ第1の椎体及び第2の椎体であり、前記第1の骨ネジは、前記第1の椎体の縁部骨増殖体内にねじ込まれ、前記第2の骨ネジは、前記第2の椎体の縁部骨増殖体内にねじ込まれる請求項1による骨の連結方法。

- 前記第2のネジ挿通孔は、一つの細長いスロットからなっていて、該スロット内で前記第2の骨ネジが前記べープレートに対して相対的にスライドし得るようになっている請求項1による骨の連結方法。
- 前記第1及び第2の骨ネジがカバーされた際に、両骨ネジが前記ベースプレートに対して相対的にトグル運動を行うことが許容されるようになっている請求項1による骨の連結方法。
