Abstract
Description
(i)前記リンク上で伝送用のパケットを受信するステップと、
(ii)前記パケットを調べ、該パケットに必要とされる適切なサービス品質属性のセットを決定するステップと、
(iii)前記調べたパケットを複数の論理チャネル待ち行列のうちの1つに配置するステップであって、前記1つの論理チャネル待ち行列には、前記パケットに必要な決定されたサービス品質属性に対応するサービス品質属性が定義されている、ステップと、
(iv)前記リンクのデータ伝送容量を決定し、前記複数の論理チャネル待ち行列のうち、伝送の優先順位が最も高い伝送対象データを保持するものを1つ選択し、前記論理チャネル待ち行列からのデータを、前記チャネルの前記決定された伝送容量内に収まるようにパッケージ化が可能な限りパッケージ化して伝送するステップと、
(v)前記ステップ(i)乃至(iii)、そして必要に応じて前記ステップ(iv)を繰り返すステップと、
を含む。
前記リンクによって前記他の端点に伝送するための前記データフローからパケットを受信する、前記第1の端点におけるネットワークインターフェースと、
各々が、受信したパケットを待ち行列に入れるように動作可能で、前記待ち行列の内容に対して定義される定義されたサービス品質属性のセットを有する、論理チャネル待ち行列のセットと、
前記受信したパケットを調べて前記パケットのためのサービス品質属性を決定し、対応するサービス品質属性を有する前記論理チャネル待ち行列のうち選択されたものに前記受信したパケットを配置するパケット分類装置と、
前記複数の端点に対して利用可能なデータ伝送容量を決定し、優先順位が最も高い内容を有する論理チャネル待ち行列からパケットの一部分を伝送のために選択し、前記部分を前記リンクのデータ伝送容量内に収めるために前記パケットを必要に応じてセグメント化するリンクコントローラと、
を含む。
また、無線チャネルは、一般にワイヤラインリンクのような他の物理媒体よりも伝送エラーを生じる傾向にあるため、無線チャネル上での伝送のためにデータを適切にフォーマットする必要がある。以下、これをデータの「パッケージング」と呼ぶ。このパッケージングは、エラー訂正コードの使用、データのインタリーブ、用いる変調の選択などを含むことができる。このパッケージングを行った結果の1つとして、一般に、無線チャネルの物理層トランスポートブロックの最大サイズ(即ち、単一フレームなど、ある期間において物理層による伝送が可能であるデータの最大量)は、ワイヤライン伝送の場合よりも小さくなる。例えば、ワイヤラインネットワークでは、イーサネット(登録商標)システム用のトランスポートブロックのサイズは15,000バイト以上になりうるが、前述のAMOSPHEREシステムでは、トランスポートブロックはアップリンク(CPE48から基地局44)では最小で11バイト、ダウンリンク(基地局44からCPE48)では最小で19バイトしかない場合がある。また、伝送エラーの生じる確率がより高い大きなパケットを伝送するよりは、エラーの生じる確率を下げることができ、エラーが生じた場合は、より大きなパケットが要求するよりも小さな帯域幅で再伝送できる、より小さなパケットを伝送する方が有利となりうる。よって、通常、ワイヤラインシステム及び/又はユーザ端末からのパケットは、無線リンク40上での伝送前にフラグメンテーション(分割)を必要とする。
図5は、前述のプロセスのフローチャートを示している。ステップ200において示されるように、この方法は、1つ以上のセグメンテーションキャッシュ160が割り当てられるどのチャネルも考慮に入れる。ステップ204において、考慮中のチャネルに割り当てられた優先順位が最も高い論理チャネル待ち行列の、空でないセグメンテーションキャッシュ160を選択する。ステップ208において、チャネルによってRLC140に報告されたデータ伝送容量内に収まるように、選択したセグメンテーションキャッシュ160の内容のセグメントを必要に応じて形成する。ステップ212において、パッケージング及び伝送のためにセグメントをチャネルに提示する。ステップ216において、報告されたデータ伝送容量が全て使用されたかどうかをチェックする。容量が全て使用された場合、プロセスは次のチャネルのためにステップ200に戻る。報告されたデータ伝送容量の総量よりも少ない容量が使用された場合、プロセスはステップ204に戻る。ステップ204において、考慮中のチャネルがBDCH156である場合、RLC140は、BDCH156に割り当てられた(任意のPQE108からの)論理チャネル待ち行列の全てが追加のセグメントとして含まれるとみなす。考慮中のチャネルがDDCH148である場合、RLC140は、同一のPQE108からのデータで優先順位が次に最も高いものが追加のセグメントとして含まれるとみなす。
Claims (19)
- サービス品質属性の異なるセットを各々に対して定義することのできる少なくとも2つのデータフローを通信リンク上で伝送する方法であって、
(i)前記リンク上で伝送用のパケットを受信するステップと、
(ii)前記パケットを調べ、該パケットに必要とされる適切なサービス品質属性のセットを決定するステップと、
(iii)前記調べたパケットを複数の論理チャネル待ち行列のうちの1つに配置するステップであって、前記1つの論理チャネル待ち行列には、前記パケットに必要な決定されたサービス品質属性に対応するサービス品質属性が定義されている、ステップと、
(iv)前記リンクのデータ伝送容量を決定し、前記複数の論理チャネル待ち行列のうち、伝送の優先順位が最も高い伝送対象データを保持するものを1つ選択し、前記論理チャネル待ち行列からのデータを、前記チャネルの前記決定された伝送容量内に収まるようにパッケージ化が可能な限りパッケージ化して伝送するステップと、
(v)前記ステップ(i)乃至(iii)、そして必要に応じて前記ステップ(iv)を繰り返すステップと、
を含む、前記方法。 - 前記通信リンクが2つ以上のチャネルに構築され、該2つ以上のチャネルの各々は異なる量のデータ伝送容量を有することができ、
前記複数の論理チャネル待ち行列の各々を前記2つ以上のチャネルのうちの1つ以上に割り当てることができ、前記ステップ(iv)において、前記決定されたデータ伝送容量が各チャネルに対して決定され、各チャネルに対し、前記割り当てられた論理チャネル待ち行列のうちの1つが伝送のために選択される、
請求項1の方法。 - 前記2つ以上のチャネルが、一対の端点間の専用チャネル、及び端点と複数の他の端点との間の放送チャネルのうちいずれかを含むことができる、請求項2の方法。
- 前記専用チャネルが無線基地局と加入者局との間のデータを伝送し、前記放送チャネルが前記無線基地局と複数の加入者局との間のデータを伝送する、請求項3の方法。
- 前記少なくとも2つのチャネルの各々の伝送容量が、割り当てられた前記論理チャネル待ち行列へのサービス提供を満たすように必要に応じて調整される、請求項2の方法。
- 前記サービス品質属性が、前記データフローに対してARQを実行すべきか否かを含む、請求項1の方法。
- 前記サービス品質属性が、前記データフローに対してヘッダー圧縮を実行すべきか否かを含む、請求項1の方法。
- 前記サービス品質属性が、トラフィックシェーピングプロトコルを前記データフローに適用すべきか否かを含む、請求項1の方法。
- 論理チャネル待ち行列を、専用チャネルと少なくとも1つの放送チャネルに関連させることができる、請求項3の方法。
- 論理チャネル待ち行列のセットが前記複数の加入者局の各々に対して定義される、請求項4の方法。
- 各論理チャネル待ち行列の内容が定義された優先順位に従って配置され、優先順位が最も高い現行のパケットは、優先順位が最も高い直前のパケットの伝送が完了した後にのみ伝送のために選択される、請求項1の方法。
- 他の論理チャネル待ち行列からのパケットの伝送が完了する前に、異なる論理チャネル待ち行列の内容を次の伝送のためにプリエンティブに選択することができる、請求項11の方法。
- 前記ステップ(ii)の後、対応するサービス品質属性をもつ利用可能な論理チャネル待ち行列がない場合、所要サービス品質属性のセットを有する論理チャネル待ち行列を生成し、前記ステップ(iii)において、前記生成された論理チャネル待ち行列内に前記パケットを配置するステップを更に含む、請求項1の方法。
- 異なるサービス品質属性を各々に対して定義することのできる複数のデータフローを、リンクによって第1の端点から複数の他の端点のうち1つ以上に伝送するためのシステムであって、
前記リンクによって前記他の端点に伝送するための前記データフローからパケットを受信する、前記第1の端点におけるネットワークインターフェースと、
各々が、受信したパケットを待ち行列に入れるように動作可能で、前記待ち行列の内容に対して定義される定義されたサービス品質属性のセットを有する、論理チャネル待ち行列のセットと、
前記受信したパケットを調べて前記パケットのためのサービス品質属性を決定し、対応するサービス品質属性を有する前記論理チャネル待ち行列のうち選択されたものに前記受信したパケットを配置するパケット分類装置と、
前記複数の端点に対して利用可能なデータ伝送容量を決定し、優先順位が最も高い内容を有する論理チャネル待ち行列からパケットの一部分を伝送のために選択し、前記部分を前記リンクのデータ伝送容量内に収めるために前記パケットを必要に応じてセグメント化するリンクコントローラと、
を含む、前記システム。 - 前記第1の端点が無線基地局であり、前記複数の他の端点が加入者局である、請求項14のシステム。
- 前記基地局が、前記複数の加入者局の各々に対する論理チャネル待ち行列のセットを保持する、請求項15のシステム。
- 前記リンクが2つ以上のチャネルに構築されており、前記リンクコントローラは、前記複数の端点のうちの少なくとも1つに伝送するために、前記少なくとも2つのチャネルの各々に対し、論理チャネル待ち行列からパケットの一部分を選択する、請求項16のシステム。
- 前記少なくとも2つのチャネルのうちの少なくとも一方は前記無線基地局と前記加入者局のうちの1つとの間の専用チャネルであり、前記少なくとも2つのチャネルのうちの他方は前記基地局から前記複数の加入者局のうち少なくとも2つ以上への放送チャネルである、請求項17のシステム。
- 前記リンクコントローラが、前記少なくとも1つの専用チャネルの構造を変えてそのデータ伝送容量を変更するように動作可能である、請求項18のシステム。
